Chapter 1128 Intercept

Somewhere in Olympus

Athena descended gracefully to the ground. As she walked forward, a man appeared before her.

"You finally showed up…" the man said.

"How is it, Hermes?" Athena asked.

The man before her was none other than Hermes, one of the twelve principal gods of Olympus.

"Zeus said they're ready. The war against the Titans will end soon," Hermes replied.

"I see…"

Hermes narrowed his eyes slightly. "But I have a feeling... Something doesn't sit right about all of this. This chaos—it feels like it was orchestrated from the beginning."

Athena paused mid-step and turned to him. "What do you mean?" she asked, her voice calm but sharp with curiosity.

"Starting from Gluttony, Shub-Niggurath, and all this chaos—it feels like it was orchestrated," Hermes said.

"Wasn't all of this planned by the Ruler of Gluttony?" Athena asked.

"No," Hermes shook his head. "What I mean is, someone else may be pulling the strings behind these events. Right now, tensions between the Fallen Angels and Angels are escalating. And more importantly... I came across the name Chlone."

Athena's eyes narrowed. "Who is Chlone?"

"Chlone... I've only heard whispers," Hermes said. "She's a goddess from before our time—an ancient one."

"An ancient one? Just how many of them are still alive?" Athena raised an eyebrow.

The term Ancient Ones referred to god-rank beings from the old era, long before the rise of the Holy Lands. Very little information remained from that time. What they did know was that it had been an age of chaos, defined by a Great War that shook the foundations of the world.

"Probably more than we'd like to think," Hermes replied. He shrugged. "There's still so much we don't know."

He glanced up at the sky. "But for now, we need to focus on the Titans. We'll deal with the rest once that war is settled."

...

Somewhere on the God's Continent

Inside a tavern, a handsome man and a beautiful woman sat at a table.

They were Alexander and Yaniesvyl.

Seated across from them was a woman in a dark robe. She had a chubby build and long bluish hair tied neatly at the back of her head.

"I have a proposal for you," Alexander said, glancing at the woman. "Why don't you join our group, the Dragon Council?"

"Your little group..." the woman replied casually. "I'll think about it later. For now, I don't want to be tied down to anything."

"The Dragon Council is quite free," Alexander said with a slight smile. "There are only a few rules, and nothing that would interfere with your own goals. Besides, our group includes individuals with exceptional potential."

Yaniesvyl remained silent, simply listening from the side without interrupting the conversation.

"No means no," the woman said firmly. "I don't plan on joining any organization at the moment."

Alexander chuckled lightly. "Don't forget what I said today. I'll invite you again in the future, so I won't press the matter for now."

The woman before him was Xue Yi, a formidable Hero-rank expert known for her mastery of powerful lightning techniques. She hailed from a sect in the Immortal Land, but that sect had been destroyed a decade ago. Since then, she had wandered the continent, honing her skills to their absolute peak.

Alexander's expression grew serious. "Then let's turn to the real issue. I've heard you have the key to the Ruins of Elnya."

"The Ruins of Elnya? So you've heard of it too," Xue Yi said, raising an eyebrow. "The problem is, the ruins require two keys—I only have one, so I haven't been able to enter."

"I know the location of the other key," Alexander replied. "That's why I want you to cooperate with me."

The Ruins of Elnya.

According to legend, they belonged to an ancient civilization—one said to rival the power of today's Holy Lands. The civilization fell during the ancient era, a time when gods clashed for dominance. Few knew of the ruins, and fewer still knew the truth behind them.

...

Giza Continent – Hebrei Kingdom

In a vast mansion stood the headquarters of the Dark Oculus Legion.

The name Dark Oculus Legion had become widely known across the kingdom. Their reputation spread like wildfire, and their influence had grown to unprecedented heights.

With a Hero-rank powerhouse among their ranks, the legion had risen to become one of the top forces in the entire country.

Moreover, many people were aware that the founding members of the Dark Oculus Legion were still young—with immense room for growth. Their future achievements were expected to far surpass the norm.

Even some of the noble houses in the Hebrei Kingdom had begun treating them with respect.

Inside the legion's office, a beautiful woman with blue hair was diligently arranging papers on a desk.

Near the window stood another woman with purple hair and eyes, dressed in an elegant white gown. She glanced at her companion and asked, "So, Souta will be returning soon, Mila?"

They were Lumilia and Lynn.

"Yes," Lumilia replied with a nod to her friend.

"I can't wait," Lynn said with a smile. "I'm nervous and excited at the same time."

"Me too," Lumilia replied. "I just hope Bryan and the others are here when Souta returns."

Bryan was currently in Ambrosie Country. He seemed to be doing well there, especially after being chased down by Hunters from the Adventurers' Guild.

As for Brando, he was dealing with personal issues involving his family. Once those were resolved, he was expected to return—hopefully before Souta's arrival.

"But before that," Lumilia added with a faint smile, "we still have a mountain of things to finish."

These were the tasks Souta had entrusted to her—things meant to clear the path for their future growth.

If everything went well, Bryan could potentially reach Hero-rank—a significant milestone. If that happened, it would mean another Hero-rank powerhouse for the Dark Oculus Legion.

"Ugh!"

Lumilia looked up sharply, startled by the sudden sound. She saw Lynn leaning back, bracing herself with both hands on the table.

"What's wrong, Lynn?" she asked, concern rising in her voice.

Lynn was gasping, her face pale. She shook her head slowly. "Mila… I don't know. I just have this feeling… like something terrible is about to happen."

"Huh? What do you mean?" Lumilia stood up from her seat, her eyes narrowing with worry.

...

Meanwhile — in the vast territory of the Astros Empire

A lone ship drifted silently through the darkness of space.

Inside, Souta stood at a window, gazing into the void ahead.

The ship was heading toward one of the planets that the Council had seized from the empire.

"Those people from the Council want to confirm if I'm really from Olympus," Souta muttered.

He knew there would likely be high-ranking individuals waiting. The Council of High Worlds placed great importance on matters involving the Imperium—and he expected they wouldn't treat this meeting lightly.

Souta turned his head toward one of the staff members operating the ship.

"What's the status of the spatial jump?" he asked.

"It's ready to use again, my Lord," the staff member replied respectfully.

"Good. Activate it. I want to reach our destination as soon as possible."

With that, Souta sat down and closed his eyes.

Ohm!!

The ship trembled as a wave of energy pulsed through its structure.

Moments later, everything stabilized. Souta could tell they had completed the space jump. The ship would now need time to recharge before another jump could be initiated.

Hmm?

Souta's eyes snapped open. He had sensed something.

In the next second, the entire ship shook violently. Some of the staff were thrown to the side, struggling to maintain their balance.

Bang!!

Warning!! Warning!!

A loud bell echoed through the ship, signaling that it had taken damage from an unknown attack.

Souta's expression darkened. Without hesitation, he waved his hand. Black spheres appeared behind him, and a gravitational field expanded outward from his body. The field enveloped the entire ship, shielding it from any further harm.

"What do you think, Saya?" Souta asked, his voice calm but focused.

"I don't know. It's possible this is an attack from the Council. However, if they were planning to strike, they would've waited until they confirmed you're not from Athen's Champion. Attacking now would be too risky without verification." Saya responded.

"I'll capture those people," Souta said coldly.

...

Several kilometers away, three massive ships hovered in formation, firing beams of light at Souta's vessel.

"Captain! It was a direct hit, but—"

A tall man with a large scar running down his face turned to his subordinate. "But what?"

"There's something strange with the target's ship," the subordinate replied. "The first shot connected, but the following attacks were blocked by some sort of barrier. We've also detected energy waves—originating from a monster inside the ship."

The Captain narrowed his eyes and turned to look at Souta's ship in the distance.

"A monster?" he muttered. "Based on the energy reading, what level are we talking about?"

"A Fourth Stage, Captain."

"A Fourth Stage?" The Captain smirked. "Then there's no problem. Continue firing!"

The three ships unleashed another volley of radiant beams.

But before the attacks could land, the barrier around Souta's ship expanded, twisting the light. The rays deflected mid-air, curved unnaturally—then suddenly reversed direction, hurtling back toward the three ships at even greater speed.

"What is this?!"

The Captain and his subordinates stared in disbelief as their own attacks came rushing back at them.

"Prepare for impact!"

The ships immediately activated their defensive barriers.

Boom!

The redirected energy beams collided with the shields, sending shockwaves through the ships. The entire fleet shook violently.

The Captain gritted his teeth and scanned the surroundings. "Report! Status of the ships?"

"No major damage, Captain! All systems still operational!"

"Huh...?"

"What's that...?"

A sudden silence fell over the command deck.

Everyone turned toward the main window.

Above their target's ship, a lone figure stood, shrouded in a quiet but overwhelming presence.

Their bodies froze. Goosebumps rippled across their skin.

Their instincts screamed—this wasn't just a monster.

It was something far more terrifying.
