Chapter 1127 Departing
A vast wave of dream power erupted from Franklin, sending ripples through the air and affecting dozens of ships.
To the people watching, Franklin transformed into an enormous monster that devoured everything in sight.
He looked down at them coldly.
One by one, those caught in his power collapsed into sleep. Numerous ships plummeted from the sky, crashing into the ground and triggering massive explosions.
Boom! Boom!
Screams echoed as they suffered brutal nightmares within their dreams.
[Dream Eater]!
The opening move of the [Extreme Nightmare Art]—a devastating technique that forced its targets into a dreamstate where they endured unspeakable horrors.
"Boring..." Franklin muttered, watching them die one by one.
Thousands fell asleep, offering not a shred of resistance. No matter what they did, they couldn't fight back.
There wasn't a single person on this battlefield who could challenge him. No one could match his strength.
Before long, the battlefield was cleared, with Franklin leading the remaining soldiers of the Astros Empire to victory. The forces from the Council were thoroughly defeated.
Franklin slowly descended to the ground.
Many people recognized him. Those who didn't quickly learned that he was one of the founding members of the Astros Empire—the man who had once fought side by side with the Guardian against the Great Astley Empire.
The soldiers saluted him, but he ignored them, his gaze fixed instead on the person in charge of the army.
"It's a pleasure to meet you, Sir Franklin," said a man clad in full-body armor.
He was one of the commanders of the Astros Empire.
Franklin waved his hand dismissively and asked, "What's the status of the battle on this planet? I want to know where their main force is."
The commander nodded and began to explain the situation on the planet.
Currently, nearly all known land had been occupied by the forces of the Council. Across the entire planet, the Astros Empire had been pushed back, holding less than twenty percent of the territory.
"I'll go there immediately," Franklin said, launching himself into the sky.
...
Outside Planet Astley
A vast expanse of space crackled with blood-colored lightning. The entire spatial field trembled as powerful energy waves surged outward in every direction.
After a while, the energy calmed, and the red lightning gradually faded.
Souta stood alone in the darkness of space.
"This is good... My blood lightning is twice as strong as before," he muttered to himself.
Moreover, his Archetype had evolved during his seclusion. It was now stronger and ready to be refined further. Though still incomplete, it was far superior to its previous form.
"My Douion is getting stronger too... I can control it better than before."
[Douion II] alone wasn't enough to face higher-level opponents. He needed to push it further—make it more powerful than ever.
There were many aspects of his power that required improvement, but for now, he was focused on two: his Archetype and Douion. These were his primary weapons when fighting opponents above his level.
Souta closed his eyes, recalling his battle in the Acropolis. He reviewed both his own strength and his opponent's abilities, analyzing the flaws that needed correction.
His combat style still needed refinement.
After a moment, Souta opened his eyes. The blood-colored lightning that had crackled around him faded, replaced by a contrasting glow—darkness in one hand and light in the other.
He threw his left fist forward, causing the space in front of him to crack. The light in his hand flared brilliantly as dozens of light spears burst out in all directions.
"Saya, I need to enter your inner consciousness… I want to improve something," Souta muttered.
While Souta trained outside the planet, the Astros Empire was busy reorganizing. With the deaths of numerous officials, they needed to appoint trustworthy individuals—people who would stand by the empire even in times of crisis, not those who would betray it at the first sign of trouble.
With Souta back to his training, the others wasted no more time resting—they had already rested enough.
The only ones who didn't immediately return to training were Alice and Torkez, who were helping Jamine with the reorganization of the empire.
Time passed quickly...
On the second day since their arrival in the empire, Jamine received a report from Lydia: they had lost two planets simultaneously. However, they had successfully defended one from falling into the Council's hands.
Meanwhile, Franklin was on a rampage, tearing through one planet and destroying the Council's bases one after another. His power was becoming widely feared among the Council's forces.
In the imperial palace, Alice sat across from Jamine. The two of them were discussing the Council's current movements.
"Have you sent a message to them?" Alice asked.
"Yes. I also mentioned Lord Souta's name," Jamine replied.
"That's good," Alice nodded.
Souta had already stated that he would use his name and status against the Council of High Worlds. It was better for both sides to avoid conflict—if possible.
She was aware of the current state of Athen's Champion, so it would be difficult for them to spare a high-level expert to assist.
Suddenly, a chime echoed through the room.
Jamine frowned as she checked the message she had just received.
"What's wrong?" Alice asked.
"I just got word—the Council has launched a coordinated attack on several of our planets. And more importantly…" Jamine paused, glancing at Alice before continuing, "They don't believe that Lord Souta is actually here. They don't believe he's truly part of Athen's Champion."
"What?!" Alice's eyes narrowed.
"They didn't take our words seriously," Jamine said. "They invited Lord Souta to a meeting, yet at the same time, they're attacking our planets."
"Those people…" Alice's expression turned cold, her gaze sharp and unyielding.
...
Meanwhile, on a certain planet...
A massive ship hovered silently in the sky.
At its deck stood a man clad in a bluish suit. He had blue hair and piercing blue eyes, with patches of scales visible on his skin—hinting at a non-human lineage.
"Grain Leader Souta... A Hero Candidate of Athen's Champion from Olympus. I don't know if it's true, but we need to meet him to verify it," the man said calmly.
He turned to his subordinates. "Contact Sir Geyvin and inform him that someone from Olympus is here."
"Yes, sir!" they responded with a salute before hurrying off.
The blue-haired man turned his gaze to the glass panel before him, eyes narrowing slightly as he contemplated this so-called Grain Leader Souta.
Olympus.
He had only heard the name in passing, but had never made contact with anyone from there. In fact, throughout the entire Council, most had little to no knowledge of the Divine World.
"If that's truly the case, then we should consider withdrawing from this campaign. It's unfortunate, but if he's really someone from the Divine World, we have no choice. We should seek peace. However..."
The man narrowed his eyes.
"This is just my opinion... I can't speak for the others. All I can do is try to persuade them."
He turned and walked away, instructing his subordinates to bring the ships down and summon several key individuals.
Before long, Resin was seated at a table with three other individuals—each holding a rank equal to his within the Council.
A man with red eyes and a single horn at the center of his forehead glanced at Resin and asked, "What do you want to talk about, Resin?"
The other two in the room also turned their attention to him.
Resin met each of their gazes before speaking. "I believe we should carefully reconsider our course of action."
"That's for the higher-ups to decide," the red-eyed man replied. "Our job is to conquer more planets or bring the empire into the Council. Since the higher-ups haven't told us to stop, I'll just keep doing what I've been doing."
Resin narrowed his eyes at the red-eyed man. He wasn't wrong. Without any new directive, their standing orders to continue the campaign were still in effect.
Resin knew what kind of man Red Fang was. He belonged to a faction within the Council known as Divine Grace—a group notorious for subjugating dozens of civilizations across the stars.
Divine Grace was one of the largest and most influential factions in the Council. They were known for their straightforward, domineering methods. Their leader was a being of immense power, said to be at the level of the Ninth Shackle Realm.
Resin understood that there was no persuading them—not unless a direct order came from above. Only the higher authorities had the power to rein them in.
...
Astros Empire
Jamine looked up at the ships departing from the empire.
Alice, Torkez, Eztein, Isabella, and Amanda had all left to assist the planets currently under attack by the Council.
Souta walked up behind her and followed her gaze.
"They didn't believe it… those people from the Council," he said. "Well, they asked to speak with me, so I suppose some things are about to change."
"Yes, my Lord," Jamine replied with a nod.
Souta turned to her and said, "Prepare a ship for me as well. I'll go to their base alone and speak with them directly."
"I understand." Jamine bowed respectfully.
Souta had anticipated this. He knew they wouldn't easily believe he was truly part of Athen's Champion—one of Olympus's elite forces.
