The Goliath Demon Clan were well known as the mightiest demon clan in the continent by most, but they had a secret enemy, a scaled clan of unknown name that mostly lived in the “Dark Side of the Demon Continent” a world even hostile to its own inhabitants, which her parents had never visited, and where it was said that the Dragon King lived.

“Have there not been any expeditions to this Dark Side?” Aquarina asked.

“It’s so far that I doubt it,” Said Nepheline. “Some say it is like another whole world, and even the demons themselves fear it. It is separated from the rest of the world by a thick wall of black foggy miasma. Just getting through it can kill most people… So nobody has tried, that I remember.”

“Perhaps other Demon Clans had entered it, but we don’t have any documentations to know that” Shade shrugged. “There are many things that have happened in the past and even are now happening in the present, but there’s little we can do to know them truly. This world, even now, is full of wonders and mysteries.”

“Yeah, I know…” Aquarina nodded. “Hmm… And those Dominus Clan Demons? You said the Demon King could be part of that Clan?”

“We’ve met a few of them, they’re terrifyingly strong too,” nodded Nepheline. “But they’re usually better at magic than physical attacks. They’re known as masters of Dark Magic, Enchantments, and Curses. Some Demon Kings in the past were of this clan. Characterized by their bright purple hair. And two pairs of black horns. That half-human demon kid might be really good at magic.”

“But he didn’t even use magic, he used a sword…” Aquarina wondered. “Agh, dammit… Well, whatever! I’m done washing the dishes, so I’ll go forge my friends their new physiques!”

Aquarina quickly walked away growing too tired of hearing about how terrifyingly strong the demon clans could get, so she ran away mid conversation, something her parents did expect to happen.

“Well there she goes…” Shade said. “I suppose our conversation ended getting her a bit scared.”

“I wouldn’t blame her; I was also shocked of those monsters when we fought them…” Nepheline said. “I wish all demons could be nice, but they also have their own interesting… cultures, um. Well, yeah.”

“Goliaths and Dominus Demons are certainly mostly an exception…” Shade said. “They come from huge, prestigious clans that dominate most of the continent. They’re of the few clans that also have territories on the dark side of the demon continent.”

“Indeed, most countries are dominated by these two clans, who are often in conflict… but most of the time, against everything else, they become allies,” sighed Nepheline. “Demon politics are also very strange. They certainly don’t put just anybody in charge, and only powerful people are given titles of nobility. The complete opposite of humans and maybe other races. Although they’re usually all related anyway. A Demon King usually has dozens of children already…”

“But a young one? That’s fairly rare, yes,” nodded Shade. “Especially one that hasn’t built a family or had children yet… But it could also be that his appearance looks young but he’s already quite old?”

“We won’t know until we met him, and I would rather not do that if possible,” Nepheline sighed.

“Yeah, you’re not wrong…” Shade agreed.

As the two finished washing the dishes, they joined with their daughter in helping her friends obtain evolved physiques. They set up a special magic ritual circle that Aquarina built using her Skills and Magic, facilitate the process tremendously.

Once that was done, she placed the necessary materials, which for Agua, were going to be a lot of Water Spirit Stones, which were the most compatible with her Physique. They also added some of Undine’s scales, which she shed from her long fish-like tail, some of her hair and also a few pieces of her nails she donated.

The reason? Aquarina had seen through her abilities what Agua could obtain, and her Physique had great potential, more than imaginable. She had a great affinity with spiritual elements, meaning that if she added a lot of spirit attribute materials, she could develop unseen powers.

And perhaps through her Alchemy Ritual, even give her a new Artificial Alchemy Spirit too!

For that reason, she also aimed to awaken her Beast Aura through her Physique Evolution, letting her skip the whole chore of a process of getting it without it.

For that, she also added sea monster materials, mostly everything they hunted down there was added, the shell and exoskeleton of the Rainbow Spirit Lobster monsters, most of their magic cores, and also the bones of giant fish monsters, and piles of their bright scales, and of course, a lot of corals and sea trees.

“W-Wow, this is a lot of stuff for sure… Do I just stand here, Aquarina?” Agua wondered.

“Yeah, right there,” Aquarina nodded, as she had a cauldron right by her side. “I’ve set everything up. Now it’s all up to you, Agua. Sit down cross-legged, concentrate, breath in and out, and remain calm. Your Aura and your Body will begin to change, and it might or might not be painful, I don’t know if what happened to Justicio might apply to you, but you must bear with it. Absorb the power, make it yours… And don’t let it win.”

“D-Don’t let it win?” Agua wondered. “What happens if it wins?”

“Probably nothing. But there’s a small chance you’ll either die… or become a monster,” said Aquarina.

“Eh?!”

One of the side effects that Aquarina learned later about these kinds of rituals, is that aside from actually just dying, there was another effect. A dangerous one, a person could end up being overtaken by the materials and their essences and mutating into a half-monster creature. Completely mad, they would rampage, destroy, and kill anything in their wake, having to be taken down forcefully.

“I-I don’t want to turn into a monster…” Agua cried.

“D-Don’t worry! It won’t apply to you anyway, only Justicio went through that risk,” laughed Aquarina. “My parents are here to enhance the ritual, and your mom has done the same.”

“Phew…” Agua sighed in relief, while Justicio felt rather sad he had nobody to help him out.

“Alright, let’s begin then!”
