Kenji did as he was told. He took out his communication crystal and channeled his energy into it…

The moment the lazy voice of their leader sounded from the crystal, Kent smiled.

So when Kent gave the order, he was prepared to become evil to punish evil.

“Get creative, Kenji. Your handsome face is there; your nice hair is there… I need to see a bloody face, a bloody scalp, and a severed nose.

Become the Joker—cut that mouth of yours open. Get creative, Kenji, or I’ll be forced to do it for you.

Prove to everyone you are the Blade Whisperer, the Tiger Fang… show them how creative you are. Make them believe you have what it takes to terrorize kingdoms.”

As Kent spoke more commands, Kenji continued to bleed, feeling his energy drain, but he couldn’t stop—not when he was nowhere close to the ten thousand cuts Kent demanded.

Kenji cut his mouth wide open, causing most of the elves to turn away. They could feel his pain; they could feel that tear in their own mouths, and the sensation was one they weren’t prepared for.

Lady Aelith looked at Kent intensely, her face pale as she imagined herself in Kenji’s place. The thought alone made her shudder.

‘This human, I am not crossing him ever again. If possible, I would prefer not to see him again. I will run… no, I will enter seclusion as soon as I return. That is, if he let me leave with my life’
