The fight against the Yogi Gangsters was not as easy as the Commando Mages had thought. They assumed those sage faces with gangsta clothes would be pushovers but only once they had engaged against them directly did the Commando Mages realised that they had the abilities to use psychic abilities, enabling them to control the battlefield to their favour.
While some attempted to use mind control as a way to turn the tides of battle, they were quickly targeted by the Commando mages. They quickly understood that the Commando Mages were impervious to such mind attacks and thus the majority of them immediately used telekinesis as their secondary ability.
Still, because they were in close combat, the telekinetic powers were not as useful as they thought they would be. Surely, they were able to push or even trip the Commando Mages but the latter quickly recovered their stance and adjusted their combat style accordingly to ensure that they could get an opening.
Sure enough, the use of those telekinetic powers came at a cost. They were wide open for opportunities of attack, allowing the Commando Mages to go in for the kill even though they only had their fists and kicks to accompany them. Yet, it was more than enough to disarm their quarterstaffs and the Commando Mages used them even more effectively than the Yogi Gangsters could.
Hence, the moment when the Commando Mages ripped away their weapons, most of the Yogi Gangsters were bound to fail. Unlike those gangsters who preferred a more peaceful way of settling things despite their gangster-ish appearance, the Commando Mages were out for blood.
Once they got hold of those quarterstaffs, they incapacitated their opponent and instantly shoved the quarterstaff to the gangsters' weak points.
Those Mages aimed for their enemy's throats if they could or else they would cripple them, rendering them unable to move before going for the kill on their necks. The only way those Yogi Gangsters were able to defend themselves was actually using their gigantic prayer beads that were wrapped around their necks as their devotion to gods, and in this case, the God of Preservation, Vishnu.
With telekinetic powers, they sent those beads in an attempt to kill their opponent before they could kill them. However, the Commando Mages were well versed in manoeuvring in such close quarter combat situations and the use of their quarterstaff proved to be quite a decent weapon in deflecting such beads.
Of course, some of them got injured by it but it was nothing that would cause a dent in their fighting capabilities but to the Yogi Gangsters, this was the only retaliation they could afford before rendering their lives to the butlers of this manor.
Eventually, the place quieted down as the last plea to live had been snuffed out by the Commando Mages. No.8 looked at the mess as well as took stock of her team's status. All of them were still able to fight if there was a need and they were ready to go for another wave of yogi gangsters if the situation demanded. But instead of such gangsters coming close to the Manor demanding for their comrade's lives to be repaid, it was actually coming from a loudspeaker within the Manor itself. "Now that those yogi buttheads are dead, please clean up the Manor and have a good rest. There will be more to come in the morning.
Oh and please prepare a breakfast buffet for me and my guests." Vishnu requested through the intercom and a few of the Commando Mages felt like they were taken advantage of.
"Get some nice juicy premium meat from the forest behind the manor since there would be a group of them coming for the meeting."
"Don't you gods preach in eating vegetarian and in celebrating life?" No.9 asked as she had read up information on the Hindu Pantheon prior to this fight.
"Meh, the meat is not even real, it is just the experience of it. So, you cannot fault me for attempting to try it out right?" Vishnu laughed with his reply. "Besides, it's not me that will be eating the meat, it's my guests. So, don't tarry on the cleaning. They should be out hunting in an hour or two. Meanwhile, I will have some good quality beauty nap that I have been missing for centuries.
All hail the King of Ress to provide such luxury to me." The intercom snapped and it was obvious that the channel had been cancelled out, unable to allow any of the Commando Mages to retort.
"So, we really become that god's plaything?" No.1 asked which caused No.8 to sigh at the situation. But as soon as they lamented at the situation, they heard a soft click from afar, and the sound came from the far end of the Manor.
At that point, a holographic screen emerged right in front of everyone just like how Jin's Magic Eye would within the capital city's premises. "Cleaning Room Unlocked."
It was indicative that with the death of the Yogi Gangsters, they had effectively cleared stage 1 of this dungeon instance and they would now proceed to the next one. They could either not listen to what Vishnu had said and leave the dead people around or they complied with his requests, giving them the opportunity to target their Lord once more.
No.8 believed the latter was the right way to go and who knows whether clearing those stages would allow them to have access to their weapons or even magic for the eventual fight.
Surely, they could not clear up the mess and see how Vishnu responds especially when he said there would be guests coming but there was also some sort of compulsiveness within them to comply with their new 'temporary' lord's orders.
Thus, No.8 told everyone to follow the orders of the Lord of this Manor and if not, at least listen to her orders now that she was Head Maid of the house. The rest were not entirely happy but since they had ten tries to this story dungeon, they guess it could not hurt to at least give this playthrough a shot and see how things unfold as time passes.
