Chapter 2178: Manor of Vishnu -Part 2

"Ah, looks like all of you are here as timed. Good good. I was thinking we would need to postpone it because of No.2's habit of sleeping early." A voice came from the second floor of the manor, revealing to be none other than Lord Vishnu himself. The rest attempted to reach for their magic but realised that there was no mana running through them at all.

Their telepathy talks were not reaching out to one another despite the fact that they were so close to each other as well. The only thing that they might have other than the butler and maid outfits were their skills in melee combat. Yet, Lord Vishnu who was dressed in sleeping robes walked down the stairs with a smile on his face.

"I know all of you are dying to kill me right at this moment but don't you know that such personal… activities are not allowed during working hours?" Vishnu said as he magically popped out a tub of fresh blueberry ice cream right in front of them and started eating because he knew that without magic, the Commando Mages would not be a match for him.

Still, that does not mean one would not care to try fighting the Lord of the Manor. As No.2 felt offended by the remark despite it being true, he was the first to move into the range of Lord Vishnu despite the fact that he was not showing any aggression at all. Yet before he was able to connect his punch, all Lord Vishnu did was use the back of the spoon to stop No.2 from hitting him.

The rest saw in perpetual horror as No.2 attempted to redivert his inertia and put out a kick as an attack of opportunity. Needless to say, it was useless as Lord Vishnu continued to use the very same spoon and whack No.2's shoe (as well as the entire attack) away.

"Urgh, I have to change the spoon." The God of Preservation said and it was pretty evident that any other standard attacks were futile. "Honestly, I did not even want to entertain any of you but Jin beat me to a pulp and thus I have to play along."

"So, either you people fucking buck up so that you have the right to fight me, or die protecting me from all the threats that would be coming your way," Vishnu said before a bolt of lightning struck in front of the manor with a loud thunderclap.

"Seems like our first wave of guests is here. You all should welcome them." Lord Vishnu said as there was a sharp knock on the manor's door. However, that knock also destroyed the entirety of the door, revealing to the Commando Mages (or Butlers at this point) a group of …gangsters.

Still, gangsters was not the right word as the Commando Mages were not able to identify them as such mainly due to the fact that they might act and dress as one but all of them were bald, wearing huge giant prayer beads around their necks and had quarterstaffs as their weapons.

Perhaps a few of them had longer beards than the others but it does not change the fact that they looked like Hindu Yogis with a temper. Of course, most Yogis are meant to be peace loving group but just not these few.

"Hey Vishnu! Don't you think it is about time you give us the enlightenment fees that you owe us?" One of the veteran looking Yogi Gangsters said. Despite his rude way of saying things, his tone and voice were rather calm.

"See, what I go to deal with on a daily basis?" Vishnu said as he stood up and passed the leftover ice cream to No.2 who was the closest to him despite failing to make a dent on the person himself. "Please clear this as well as those Yogi Gangsters. Then perhaps, you might be able to fight me." Vishnu smirked while he went up to his room.

"What a fucked up situation. We have to protect the person we are going to murder?" No.5 asked as he saw that those Yogi Gangsters were not simple thugs either. The vibes that they give were of another level…even though their aura seemed tranquil enough.

"More importantly, we need to at least cooperate until we get our mana circuits unblocked." No.8 said as she looked around to see that there was really nothing for them to even improvise in their fight against the Yogi Gangsters.

Even without any telepathic communication, the Commando Mages knew that they had to beat up these gangsters to get their quarterstaff otherwise, they might need to search the manor for the weapons they had brought with them.

Either way, it was going to be a tough first fight considering they were unarmed and had to work their way up to fight against their supposed target.

Kalki saw the ongoing process and was practically flabbergasted by Jin's story dungeon. "I cannot believe you make Vishnu a literal human lord," Kalki said as she saw the Commando Mages about to enter combat with the Yogi Gangsters. "And also, Yogis as gangsters? This is the first time I have ever seen such a mashup of characters. Hahaha!"

"I am going to sell this to my customers back in my home world so I guess a little bit of originality could make it work."

"I am actually more surprised that you are using your Commando Mages as guinea pigs," Kalki replied as she saw the butlers now engaging in close quarter combat with the Yogi Gangsters and they had the upper hand for now.

"They are a good yardstick to ensure that the difficulty is just nice for the audience back home. Besides, they wanted their revenge, I needed a revenue source, it's a win win situation for the both of us." Jin said but Kalki wondered what developments this Story dungeon move towards.

After all, the concept was nice but as a revenge plot? It might seem hard to achieve. But right now, she was merely happy that she enjoyed a little bit of performance by the Commando Mages.
