MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1495 - 1495: Myriad Prodigies: Final Round (6)

Woooo!!!

At the very moment Valyr’s name was mentioned, the entire crowd immediately erupted into cheers, causing the amphitheater to briefly quake as the young man slowly walked up the surface.

Making his way towards the main platform at the amphitheater’s center, the crowd continued to cheer for him, prompting a faint smile to appear on his face as he began to wave back at them.

Fortunately, once he stepped foot on the platform, the crowd began to quiet down, allowing Schubert to hype up the entrance of the opponent Valyr was about to fight.

“Fighting against the Mythslayer is a superb prodigy in her own right,” said Schubert, his voice echoing throughout the entire amphitheater.

“Originally a normal member of the Alchemist Guild, her talents began to blossom the moment she decided to join the Scholar Guild.”

“Having the occupations of both an alchemist and scholar, she gradually began to make a name for herself in the professional field, becoming renowned as one of the foremost innovators in the world of alchemy.”

“Though, that renown was boosted even further the moment her skills in fighting were revealed, showcasing a level of might and control that allowed her to defeat an entire group of assassins aiming for her life.”

“Mind you, these assassins were all an entire class rank above hers,” the man said, pausing for emphasis.

Giving the crowd enough time to process the words he just said, Schubert soon continued, “To no surprise, a lot more people began to pay more attention to her because of that, especially after she had made great contributions to the ongoing war from both the rear and the frontlines.”

“Thanks to the tournament she participated in before this one, she slowly became known throughout the masses as the Puppeteer, mostly due to the fighting style she had shown during that tournament.”

“However, in this tournament, she has revealed yet another facet of her true capabilities, combining what she was known for as the Puppeteer with a style of combat that could only be described as… domineering.”

“Now let me introduce to the Weaver of Nature, the Seamstress of Despair…”

“Leveina Foret!”

Woooo!!!

With her name garnering a similar reaction amongst the crowd, Valyr’s expression gradually turned solemn as he watched his opponent step into the main platform.

If he were to assess her through her appearance, the young man felt that the woman before him looked more like someone who could be found in the R&D department of a pharmaceutical company.

Though, once he began to peer a bit closer into her essence, he soon took note of a sharp edge surrounding her, an edge that could only be cultivated after defeating hundreds, if not thousands of foes.

“…A pleasure to meet you.” Seeing that she was also assessing him, Valyr faintly smiled in response as he extended his hand for a handshake. “Ylvar.”

“Leveina.” The woman faintly nodded in return, reciprocating the handshake. “May we give it our all during this fight.”

“May we give it our all, indeed.” Valyr nodded back in agreement, prompting the two to distance themselves as the arbiter appeared at the center sometime later.

“…Are both sides ready?”

“Ready,” answered the two at the same time, having already activated some of their buffing skills beforehand.

Nodding back at the two in return, the arbiter swiftly got out of the platform as he officially announced the start of the fight.

“Let the fight… commence!”

“[Field of Verdant Waters].”

Wanting to know what kind of tricks his opponent had up her sleeve, Valyr stood in place as he allowed Leveina to unleash one of her domains.

Whoosh!

Watching as the ground beneath them slowly took on a murky green color, the young man soon felt as if his body had been transformed into lead, prompting him to take a few steps in place to assess what kind of domain it was.

“It affects movement and attack speed,” he surmised after the small test, his expression still solemn as he watched his opponent cast a few more domains in a row.

“[Domain of Shifting Tides].”

“[Sky of Billowing Blight].”

Swoosh! Swoosh!

Feeling the effects of the domains stack on his body, Valyr’s solemn expression was soon replaced with a slightly wry smile, wondering at that moment if he should have at least made a few countermeasures before letting Leveina cast her domains.

“A domain that affects movement and attack speed, another that affects balance, and another that affects stamina,” murmured Valyr to himself, closing his eyes as he ascertained which domain affected what.

“[Field of Wrathful Vines].”

“[Domain of the Despairing Lake].”

In the end, Leveina cast five domains throughout the platform they were on, reducing Valyr’s combat strength by a considerable amount.

‘…Around 20% of my strength was lost thanks to these domains,’ thought the young man to himself, the smile on his face now somewhat bitter.

‘Considering that energy is still gathering around her hands, I presume she’s not done with her preparations.’

“[Harmony of Nature].”

Just as the thought popped up in Valyr’s mind, Leveina soon released a great amount of energy into her surroundings, causing the domains overlapping one another to start fusing.

Swoosh! Swoosh!

Feeling the effects of each domain amplify the more of the domains fused with one another, the young man took in a deep breath to compose himself while activating some of the buffing skills he had yet to use.

Whoosh!

By the time all of the domains had fused into one overbearing domain, Valyr felt as if a quarter of his strength was being sapped by the domain every second. Though, if he didn’t activate his remaining buffs, he was certain the reduction in strength would be far greater.

“I appreciate the kindness you’ve shown by giving me the opportunity to set up my domain.” Standing at the center of the platform, Leveina looked at Valyr with a calm yet excited expression.

“However, I’m certain you’ve already noticed that you should’ve stopped me when you had the chance.”

“I am kind of regretting it,” Valyr admitted, letting out a slight chuckle as he began to move a bit closer to Leveina. “But it doesn’t really affect the grand scheme of things.”

“I beg to differ,” replied Leveina, confident that she would be able to defeat the young man before her. “With your capabilities greatly reduced, it would be difficult, if not outright impossible to make use of the method you’ve used to dispatch your opponents thus far.”

“With that being said… what will you do in this situation?”

“…What will I do?” Hearing her question, a confident smile soon appeared on Valyr’s face.

“Here’s what I’ll do.”

Whoosh!

Releasing a great amount of Mystic Energy into his surroundings, Valyr willed his thoughts into it, forming a domain that negated all of the negative effects Leveina’s domain had on him.

“[Descent of the True Wyvern].”

After confirming that his domain could stably handle the might of Leveina’s domain for a decent amount of time, he then proceeded to use his strongest buff, causing his aura to surge to heights far above what the strongest participant had shown thus far.

Sensing this aura come from Valyr all of a sudden, Leveina’s expression immediately turned into that of slight panic, conjuring a few more domains in the hopes of shifting the tides of battle back to her.

However, before she could even reinforce the domain she had created…

Valyr decided to take things up a notch.

“…[Soul Fusion].”
