Emery and Azula meticulously plotted their next move, focusing on capturing Major Zoller while avoiding harm to the civilians. Emery's familiarity with the major's character made him believe that tricking Zoller into separating himself from the civilians was extremely difficult.

There were too many variables at play, and attempting subtlety or deception would risk escalating the conflict, potentially leading to even greater casualties among innocents.

Faced with limited options, Emery made a bold decision to approach the problem head-on. After coordinating the details of their plan with Azula, Emery prepared himself for the execution.

The battlefield was already a chaotic maelstrom of destruction and Emery's sudden arrival in the middle of the clash between two grand magus figures caused an immediate pause. Both combatants turned their attention to him, their reactions starkly different.

Hulu's face twisted with contempt, his hatred for Emery palpable. The elf hadn't forgotten the events of several days ago. As for Major Zoller, his reaction was almost the opposite. A spark of satisfaction flashed in his eyes, mistaking Emery's intervention as an opportunity to gain an unexpected ally against the elven grand magus.

Zoller's thoughts, however, were cut short when Emery acted in a way that neither of them anticipated. Without hesitation, Emery flew directly between the two combatants and raised his hands. Before either could stop him, he unleashed a powerful spatial spell. A massive portal materialized, swirling with unstable energy, large enough to envelop all three of them.

"Lieutenant! What is this? What are you doing?!" Major Zoller's voice boomed with shock as the portal's force began pulling them in.

The sheer magnitude of the spell was taxing, especially considering that two grand magus were involved. Forcefully pulling them away from the battlefield was no easy feat, the pressure was unbearable, and a torrent of blood erupted from Emery's mouth as the teleportation took its toll. Despite the immense pain, a smile crept onto his face as the gate completed its function, successfully transporting all three of them dozens of miles away.

Hulu, the scar-faced elf grand magus, tensed as the disorienting teleportation settled. He was ready for a potential two-against-one battle with Emery and Zoller. However, his wariness shifted into a knowing smirk. Around them, figures approaching in speed—Azula and three squads of elite elven magus, numbering over thirty strong.

Zoller's expression darkened. His initial shock at the forced teleportation turned to dread as he realized the precarious situation he had been maneuvered into. This wasn't a mere battlefield skirmish anymore; it was an ambush.

His steely composure cracked when Emery, instead of taking a defensive position or attacking the elves, slowly floated toward Azula and stood next to her.

"What is going on here?!" The same question echoed through the ranks of the dark elves, with both Hulu and the other elven magus staring in disbelief at the sudden turn of events.

Azula, was calm and collected, her voice ringing with authority. "This man is one of us now... He will help us kill this high-ranking human"

The words sent shockwaves through the ranks, but Azula held the highest command, and it was hard to question her order, especially with Major Zoller, the high-ranking human grand magus, standing right in front of them.

Major Zoller's mind raced. The realization hit him like a hammer. There was no mistaking it now—whatever the reason, Emery and the elves had plotted against him.

Without hesitation, he unleashed his battlefield domain, a massive pulse of energy erupting from his body, affecting everyone in the area, before he prepared to break free.

His high-grade spell twisted through the air as a massive blade of light formed in the sky, his only means of escaping the tight encirclement. The terrifying spell successfully crushed two elves' magus into dust and wounded a few others in the vicinity. But his attempts to escape were in vain. The grand magus dark elf, Hulu quickly closed in, and Zoller found himself locked in a battle for survival.

"Trying to kill me!! not that easy!!"

Zoller, was no amateur. Using his spirit-reading abilities, he summoned over a hundred flying weapons, which whizzed through the air in a dazzling display of power. His attacks were powerful, each one designed to protect him and push the enemy back. But Hulu, the grand magus, had a different set of skills that Zoller had not anticipated. Hulu was a master of poison—his spells were subtle, deadly, and utterly relentless.

The flying weapons did little to stave off the poison smoke that billowed from Hulu's form. With each passing moment, Zoller's defense grew weaker, his aura flickering as the toxic fumes clouded his senses. Zoller summoned his cosmic energy, enveloping himself in a bright, majestic form that acted as both armor and shield. The power surged through his body, and for a moment, he felt invincible.

Emery and Azula watched from a distance, their eyes keenly focused on the battle as it unfolded. They observed as Zoller was forced to fight with increasing desperation, he was able to kill one magus to another, but even this powerful defense was not enough to protect him from the creeping poison that clouded his senses.

The poison slowly eroded his strength.

After a few dozen clashes, Emery's divine sense detected a new wave of reinforcements—human magus was approaching, likely coming to aid Major Zoller. Emery had anticipated this move, however, and was fully prepared.

He turned to Azula acting the part, asking permission to leave the battle. "I need to take care of my people first," he said. Azula, without hesitation, nodded. "As we agreed, you may go."

With a single gesture, Emery activated a spatial gate, teleporting to the incoming human magus, and explained "The Major is holding off the elves," Emery said. "We need to evacuate the civilians immediately!."

His words were enough to galvanize the magus into action. Emery worked tirelessly, casting large spatial gates to transport the hundreds of thousands of civilians away to a secondary checkpoint. It took nearly an hour to evacuate everyone, but his focus never wavered.

By the time Emery returned to the battlefield, the fight had reached its climax.
