Chapter 1825 A Peak Sovereign Elemental Warrior
From the rubbles in the ground, City Lord Vaughn crawled out with a pained expression on his face, blood could be seen on the side of his mouth, and from how he was clutching one of his arms, it was clear to see that he was feeling immense pain from it.
Climbing out of the rubble, City Lord Vaughn rushed to Lord Harry's side, turning his gaze to the crater by the wall; it was unknown if Grey was alive or dead.
Seeing a Peak Sovereign Elemental Warrior, City Lord Vaughn was filled with fear. Alone, he knew he would never be able to deal with a Peak Elemental Warrior. Luckily, he wasn't alone. Sensing the presence of others, he knew that the situation hadn't gone beyond saving yet, so he didn't despair.
Looking at one of the City Lords, he ordered, "Go and check on our young friend."
City Lord Vaughn didn't believe that Grey would be killed by a single attack. And before the City Lord could even move in Grey's direction, one of Grey's hands stretched out from the crater, grabbing the side of the wall, he propelled himself out of the crater, a look of shock could be seen on his face.
The City Lord took his time to study Grey, after all, just like him, Grey took an attack head-on from the Elemental Warrior. A look of shock and doubt appeared on City Lord Vaughn's face when he noticed that other than the blood by the side of Grey's mouth, and his disheveled hair, he looked okay. There were obviously no signs of him being in pain.
'Could the Elemental Warrior not have used the same strength when attacking him?'
City Lord Vaughn didn't believe that Grey would come out with just blood by the side of his mouth after taking a blow from a Peak Sovereign Elemental Warrior. Although he had doubts, he was secretly exhilarated that Grey was perfectly fine. The more people they had, the easier it will be for them to deal with a Peak Sovereign Elemental Warrior.
After climbing out of the crater, Grey sucked in a deep breath before turning his hate-filled gaze in the direction of the tunnel. Realizing that his path was blocked by an Elemental Warrior, he couldn't help but pause. From the attack, he had thought that someone laid out an ambush for them. However, seeing it now, he realized that he was stopped by an Elemental Warrior.
'Huh? Shouldn't this thing stop existing after its owner is dead?' Grey found the presence of the Elemental Warrior odd. After all, this was an existence that can only be born under special circumstances and their lives were tied to their owners.
"How can this be?" One of the City Lords turned his worried gaze to City Lord Vaughn. He was the one who brought them here and also technically the strongest person, so they felt he should at least have an explanation.
City Lord Vaughn had a bitter look on his face, he didn't know that even after passing through the dangerous array formation he still had to think of a way to get past this Elemental Warrior.
"The Master who resided in this place must've used a special means to keep this Elemental Warrior alive even after his death." City Lord Vaughn speculated, he could only sigh with a shake of his head, "I didn't think something like this was possible before today."
"How can we leave?" Grey asked. This was what he was most concerned about. The Elemental Warrior is clearly blocking the only path out of the underground cave, so if they want to leave, they inadvertently have to think of a way to get past it.
"We'll have to defeat it, or at least force it out of our way." City Lord Vaughn was feeling a bit aggrieved. If he had known that there would be a Peak Sovereign blocking their path in the end, he would have never dared to come here. He isn't even a Ninth stage Sovereign yet, and the chances of a Ninth stage Sovereign defeating this Elemental Warrior is almost nonexistent, which showed just how dire their situation was. Even a fellow Peak stage Elemental Sovereign will in most cases lose to a Peak Sovereign Elemental Warrior.
The two City Lords, including Lord Harry were struck speechless at the realization that they would have to fight against a Peak Sovereign.
Seeing their expressions, City Lord Vaughn could only comfort them, "This thing isn't sentient, so we have the advantage. Although it's stronger, we're smarter." Waiting for everyone to turn their attention to him, he continued, "I don't think we technically have to defeat it. If I'm not mistaken, it must be working on a power source, as long as we can locate the source of its energy and cut off its supply, we will be able to survive this ordeal."
Hearing his words, everyone nodded. An Elemental Warrior, even when the Summoners were alive, needed a large amount of essence to operate. This Elemental Warrior has used two powerful attacks, no matter how large the reserves connected to it were, there's no way it could continuously unleash such attacks.
City Lord Vaughn took command of the group, and with him taking the lead, the group charged at the Elemental Warrior.
The underground cave was soon enveloped by a flurry of lights as different elemental attacks were unleashed at once.
Boom! Bang! Bam!
The entire place shook from the impact of the attacks. City Lord Vaughn didn't hold back, fully displaying the might of an Eighth stage Sovereign. The other two City Lords might not be as powerful as City Lord Vaughn, but they were each powerful Seventh stage Sovereigns, and when the battle started, they didn't cower in front of a Peak Sovereign Elemental Warrior.
Grey and Lord Harry were both at the rear, each using any opportunity they could find to disrupt the attacks of the Elemental Warrior. The duo were both experienced fighters, so even though they knew their attacks could barely cause any harm to the Elemental Warrior, due to the timing of their attacks, the Elemental Warrior was fully suppressed by the three City Lords.
