Yuan’s Ascension

Chapter 935: Creation Dao Realm (1)

Chapter 935: Creation Dao Realm (1)

“Requesting an audience with the Overlord? The great Overlord isn’t someone you can just see at any time, you must first make a—” An Astral Monarch guard began.

A moment later, the expressions of these Astral Monarchs shifted as they exchanged glances.

One of the Astral Monarchs gave a flattering smile and said, “Astral Monarch Wu Yuan, please enter. The Overlord is already waiting for you in the great hall.”

“Thank you all,” Wu Yuan smiled, his form transforming into a streak of light as he entered the hall.

At the entrance to the hall, these Astral Monarchs secretly conversed.

“We haven’t even reported his request yet, and the Overlord has already sent a message?”

“It seems the rumors are true, the Overlord is very invested in Wu Yuan.”

“None of those late-stage Sovereign powerhouses receive such treatment.”

“It’s understandable, after all, he did obtain a Saintcrest.”

Bathed in multi-colored light, the entire Hou Jue Hall was vast and endless, its majestic pressure radiating outwards.

Wu Yuan marveled inwardly. Truly befitting the hall of an Overlord.

Whoosh! Wu Yuan landed in the temple, bowing towards the far end of the hall. “Overlord.”

Seated upon the throne was an elegant and noble woman in black robes, her vast aura encompassing the entire hall.

“Rise,” Overlord Hou Jue’s voice was gentle, echoing like celestial music.

Her gaze was piercing, as though attempting to see straight through his secrets.

Wu Yuan stood respectfully.

After a long while, Overlord Hou Jue finally spoke slowly. “Not bad. It’s good that you’ve broken through. The High Eldritch phase is ultimately just child’s play. Only by becoming an Astral Monarch or even a Sovereign can one truly be called a super powerhouse.

“Is there something you wish to ask of me?” Overlord Hou Jue inquired.

“Yes. This junior has two matters and hopes the Overlord can assist,” Wu Yuan said.

“Speak,” said Overlord Hou Jue.

“First, this junior has obtained many treasures from the Megaverse Crossroads, including mid-grade Dao Instruments and even high-grade Dao Instruments,” Wu Yuan said respectfully. “This junior is also willing to contribute these treasures to the Saintdom’s treasure hall. However, there are some treasures I cannot redeem due to restrictions on my permissions.

“I hope the Overlord can grant this disciple higher permissions,” said Wu Yuan.

“Permissions?” Overlord Hou Jue was taken aback.

The Saintdom’s treasure hall was built by the Ling Jiang Saintdom of the Eldritch Court, holding the treasures gathered by its members. One had to be a seventh-rank member to enter, and tens of thousands of Sovereigns under the Saintdom could exchange resources there.

To prevent the excessive redemption of certain resources, there were restrictions on what each Sovereign could redeem. However, although Wu Yuan appeared to be an eighth-rank member, his permissions in the treasure hall were equivalent to the ninth rank. Yet he needed more permissions?

“What are you looking to redeem?” Overlord Hou Jue asked in a low voice.

“High-grade Dao Instruments of the Spacetime or Space type, in sword form!” Wu Yuan hesitated before saying: “Twenty-five of them!”

“What? Twenty-five?” Even Overlord Hou Jue was stunned, looking at Wu Yuan with some surprise.

From what she could remember, years ago during the Divine Domain stage of the Megaverse Crossroads, Wu Yuan had asked her to facilitate trades with other peerless prodigies of the Eldritch Court to obtain the same type of treasure.

“Wu Yuan, what do you need so many sword-shaped high-grade Dao Instruments for? And why specifically those with Spacetime Dao essence?” Overlord Hou Jue frowned.

“This junior cannot say,” Wu Yuan simply shook his head, unable to explain. The more he explained, the more doubts would arise.

“Cannot say?” Overlord Hou Jue’s pupils contracted slightly.

“I hope the Overlord can help,” Wu Yuan said respectfully.

Silence fell.

Tap~ Tap~ Apart from the sound of Overlord Hou Jue’s fingertips tapping the armrest of her throne, the hall was completely quiet.

A long while passed.

“Twenty-five shouldn’t be the limit of what you wish to redeem, but rather roughly the maximum number you can redeem with your current eldritch merits,” Overlord Hou Jue finally spoke.

“The Overlord is wise,” Wu Yuan said frankly.

In reality, Wu Yuan had already been to the Saintdom’s treasure hall once. Apart from some treasures he needed for himself, he had placed all the treasures he had gained from the Megaverse Crossroads into the treasure hall, obtaining a large amount of eldritch merits. Adding what Master Kua Chi, Sovereign Cang Feng, and others had gifted him, allowed Wu Yuan to redeem twenty-five pieces.

Spacetime artifacts were generally more expensive. If he were to exchange for Fire or Water type high-grade Dao Instrument flying swords, Wu Yuan had sufficient eldritch merits to redeem forty.

“How many do you ultimately want?” Overlord Hou Jue spoke again.

“Ultimately?” Wu Yuan hesitated for a moment before saying, “The more the better. A hundred, a thousand wouldn’t be too many.”

Another round of silence pervaded the hall.

“Wu Yuan, I won’t ask you for the reason behind this request,” Overlord Hou Jue finally spoke. “But you should also understand that each type of treasure in the treasure hall is limited in number, accumulated over the long years of the treasure hall’s existence. It’s impossible to give them all to you at once.”

“This junior understands,” said Wu Yuan.

“One hundred!” Overlord Hou Jue uttered, then paused. “I will have the treasure hall reserve one hundred high-grade Dao Instrument flying swords of the Spacetime type for you.

“Of course, with my authority, I can only request that the treasure hall make them temporarily unavailable to other Sovereigns, but I cannot give them directly to you. If you want to obtain them, you’ll need to have enough eldritch merits,” said Overlord Hou Jue.

“This junior understands,” Wu Yuan’s eyes lit up. “Thank you, Overlord.”

Without Overlord Hou Jue, Wu Yuan could at most redeem ten high-grade Dao Instrument flying swords of the Spacetime type. But now? He had permission to obtain a hundred.

A hundred high-grade Dao Instrument flying swords? Wu Yuan thought to himself. Earning so many eldritch merits will probably take a very long time, but it’s enough for the short term. Wu Yuan was already very satisfied.

“You mentioned that you had two matters, what’s the other one?” Overlord Hou Jue asked.

“This junior hopes to travel to the Long Shan Universe and venture into the Creation Dao Realm,” Wu Yuan said solemnly. “Traversing between different rivers of space and time requires a spacetime battleship. I hope the Overlord can help make the arrangements.”

“Long Shan Universe? Creation Dao Realm?” Overlord Hou Jue was slightly startled, frowning slightly. “Do you know what kind of place the Creation Dao Realm is?”

“I do.” Wu Yuan nodded: “The Creation Dao Realm is a chaotic place formed after the fall of the Creation Dao Master, an immutable relic site within the Long Shan Universe. It is known to be extremely dangerous.”

“You know it’s dangerous, yet still want to venture there?” Overlord Hou Jue frowned, her voice sharp. “The Creation Dao Realm is vast and boundless. There are many Sovereigns exploring it. You, an Astral Monarch…?”

“Staying in one’s comfort zone will never lead to growth,” Wu Yuan shook his head. “The Long Shan Universe, as the former residence of the Creation Dao Master, holds many opportunities related to the Great Dao of Creation.

“The Creation Dao Realm is absolutely crucial to my growth. How can this junior, who is comprehending the Great Dao of Creation, not go?” Wu Yuan said.

High Immortal Dong Yang rapid progress just before the Megaverse Crossroads had much to do with venturing into the Long Shan Universe. Moreover, Wu Yuan had an even more important reason for venturing into the Creation Dao Realm, but he couldn’t speak of it openly.

“That’s true in principle, but there’s no reason you can’t wait until your strength has grown,” Overlord Hou Jue said in a low voice.

“This junior believes I can match ordinary Sovereigns,” Wu Yuan said, neither humbly nor arrogantly.

“Oh?” A hint of surprise flashed in Overlord Hou Jue’s eyes.

Match Sovereigns? Although she could sense the eruption of Wu Yuan’s vital aura, she subconsciously believed it was some kind of special burst secret art that was difficult to maintain for long.

Many monstrous prodigies who were High Immortals and High Deities could kill Archimmortals and Archdeities. But as one progressed further on the path of cultivation, those who remained were all former peerless geniuses. How many of them were weaklings? Fighting across phases grew increasingly difficult. Astral Monarchs who could fight quasi-Sovereigns were extremely rare, let alone those who could contend with Sovereigns.

In Overlord Hou Jue’s mind, the current Wu Yuan had just barely reached the threshold of a Sovereign. This was already very impressive.

“Wu Yuan, reaching the threshold of a Sovereign’s strength and truly matching a Sovereign are two completely different concepts,” Overlord Hou Jue said in a low voice.

“This junior understands. However, I indeed have the confidence to contend with most Sovereigns,” Wu Yuan said calmly. This confidence came from possessing formidable strength.

Another long silence ensued.

“Very well, I believe you,” Overlord Hou Jue’s eyes flashed with a glimmer of light. “I will arrange for a spacetime battleship to take you there. It should depart in about six years. I’ll notify you then.”

“Understood,” Wu Yuan nodded. “I shall take my leave.”

Soon, only Overlord Hou Jue remained in the hall.

An Astral Monarch matching Sovereigns? Given Wu Yuan’s temperament, he’s unlikely to deceive me. But how long has he been cultivating for? Overlord Hou Jue mused to herself. Could it be that our Eldritch Court’s Ling Jiang lineage is about to produce a Supreme Astral Monarch?

Some Astral Monarchs were formidable existences who possessed incredibly strong immortal roots while also comprehending a Great Dao. In terms of Dao comprehension, they rivaled Sovereigns. Due to the influence of the Great Daos, they struggled to fully comprehend Greater Laws, remaining at the Astral Monarch phase. Yet, their combat power could match that of Sovereigns. Only then were they worthy of being called Supreme Astral Monarchs.

But such Astral Monarchs were exceedingly rare. After all, those with extraordinary Dao comprehension and immortal roots often advanced to the Sovereign phase. These Supreme Astral Monarchs were even rarer than Overlords, with only a handful existing in an entire universe.

As Wu Yuan walked out of the Hou Jue Hall, he shook his head slightly, feeling helpless. The spacetime battleship will only depart in six years?

The Well of Life was located within the Creation Dao Realm. And the Creation Dao Realm was situated in the Long Shan Universe. Between different universes lay the vast and boundless cosmic sea.

When Wu Yuan was brought to the waiting area before the Megaverse Crossroads, it had taken a month of travel along the Spacetime Intersection Layer to reach the Eldritch Court Universe from the Ling Jiang Universe. One could only imagine the immense distance between different universes.

The cosmic sea was vast and fraught with endless dangers. Even late-stage Sovereign powerhouses mostly wouldn’t risk crossing the infinite cosmic sea, let alone Wu Yuan, whose strength merely matched that of an ordinary Sovereign. Only by boarding a spacetime battleship forged by supreme beings could one ensure safe passage across the cosmic sea.
