Villain MMORPG: Almighty Devil Emperor and His Seven Demonic Wives
Chapter 1656 - 1656: I’m ListeningVillain Ch 1656. I’m Listening
The café door chimed sharply.
Allen looked up, his brows furrowing slightly.
He had expected Mila to come back down.
But seeing both Mila and Vivian rushing across the sidewalk toward the entrance?
That was… unexpected.
Their faces were flushed, breath quick, eyes wide with something more than just embarrassment — urgency.
Vivian pulled open the glass door first, holding it for Mila as they slipped inside.
Heads turned briefly from a few quiet patrons, but neither girl cared. Their heels tapped rapidly against the wooden floor as they beelined straight for Allen’s corner booth like two agents returning from a botched mission.
Both of them dropped into the seats across from him, nearly in sync.
Allen set his teacup down slowly, watching them with that signature unreadable stare. Calm. Controlled. Sharp as always.
“Allen.”
“You need to listen.”
They spoke in unison.
He raised an eyebrow.
Mila and Vivian glanced briefly at each other, already flustered.
Vivian started again.
“We overheard something—”
“Upstairs,” Mila added at the exact same time.
Unison again.
Allen’s lips twitched slightly, amused but quiet.
Vivian tried to continue.
“It’s serious—”
Mila said together, “Very serious.”
Another perfect overlap.
Allen simply watched, leaning back slightly. “Go ahead.”
Vivian spoke next, trying to lead.
“They were talking about Sophia—”
Mila added with the same breath, “And Mr. Bell.”
In sync again.
Vivian exhaled, growing more nervous now, but kept talking.
“They already stole her phone—”
“And now they want the laptop,” Mila chimed in at the exact same moment.
Allen blinked once, then exhaled quietly, leaning back a bit, voice low. “Okay. Calm down, girls. You want tea first?”
Vivian shot Mila a brief glance — almost like should we accept? — but Mila shook her head quickly, pulse still pounding.
“No. Later. This is serious,” Mila said.
Allen folded his arms, eyes shifting smoothly between them. His gaze was patient, but behind it, his mind was already spinning.
“Alright,” he said softly. “I’m listening.”
Vivian leaned forward, lowering her voice just slightly, like afraid the nearby tables could somehow hear what they were about to unload.
“We overheard Liam and Darren upstairs,” she started.
Allen’s brow twitched faintly. Now his interest sharpened. “Go on.”
“They were talking about Sophia,” Mila added, her voice quick, breathy. “About how they already got her phones, and now they’re trying to get into her laptop. They said Mr. Bell has someone working on it.”
Vivian nodded. “They basically admitted everything. Bell’s getting dirtier than we thought.”
Allen exhaled through his nose, slowly. “I see.”
Mila blinked at his response, slightly confused. “Only I see? That’s it?”
Allen tilted his head slightly, voice soft but amused. “What should I say again?”
Mila’s eyebrows scrunched together. “I don’t know… laugh? Be more dramatic? Shocked? Something?”
Allen’s lips curled faintly at the corner. “Yes. I want to laugh.”
Mila leaned forward, giving him a playful glare. “Then do it.”
He let the smile deepen slightly, but kept his voice calm, low. “But…” He paused deliberately, eyes locking briefly with both of them. “You two already lured enough attention just by storming down here like that.”
Vivian’s face reddened immediately. Mila let out a nervous laugh, suddenly very aware of the eyes they had drawn when they ran inside earlier.
“Okay, fair,” Vivian muttered under her breath, cheeks flushed.
Allen reached out, casually pouring another cup of tea for himself, the movement unhurried, controlled as always.
“You’re lucky I reserved this corner,” he continued softly.
Mila pouted slightly, folding her arms. “We were not panicking.”
Vivian shot her a look. “We were absolutely panicking.”
Allen chuckled quietly under his breath, sipping his tea. “I’m not judging. I appreciate the information.”
Mila exhaled again, relaxing slightly now that the adrenaline was coming down. “So… what do we do?”
Allen tapped his finger lightly on the table, eyes narrowing in thought. “For now? Nothing.”
Vivian blinked. “Nothing?”
“Yet,” Allen clarified smoothly. “Everything is unfolding exactly the way it needs to. Sophia’s running out of leverage. Bell’s taking bigger risks.”
He leaned forward slightly, voice lowering. “Sometimes, Mila… the most dangerous thing you can do — is watch your enemies destroy themselves.”
Mila shivered slightly at how calm he was about all of it. The way his voice dipped into that smooth, dangerous register gave her that same quiet thrill that never quite went away around him.
Vivian felt it too — the way her chest tightened as he leaned closer, speaking so softly yet pulling them both in.
“That’s… very you,” Vivian whispered.
Allen smiled faintly. “It works.”
For a moment, the three of them just sat there in the thick tension again — though this time, it was different. Less panic. More… heat.
Mila’s eyes dropped briefly to Allen’s hands as he rested them on the table, fingers steady, graceful, deceptively relaxed.
‘How does he always stay so composed?’
Vivian bit her lower lip gently, pulling herself back to reality. “You’re really not even a little worried?”
Allen’s voice dropped to barely more than a whisper. “No.”
That word alone sent another pulse through both women’s hearts.
The table went quiet again, but not for long.
Allen finally leaned back again, letting the heat release like steam from a kettle. His gaze softened. “So… you girls have finished your business in the agency?”
Mila’s eyes widened slightly. “Oh—”
Vivian laughed softly, covering her mouth. “Oh my god, no. We totally forgot.”
Mila sighed, cheeks turning pink again. “I still have to grab my contract copy.”
Allen smiled. “Well, at least you didn’t lose focus or anything.”
Mila groaned dramatically. “Can you stop being so calm about everything?”
Allen chuckled under his breath again. “No.”
Vivian stood up first, smoothing her skirt. “Alright, I’ll leave you two then. I need to get back to the agency. Hope you both have a nice day.”
Mila stood too, straightening herself and trying to shake off the heat still buzzing under her skin. “I’ll run up quickly and grab my stuff. I’ll be fast.”
Allen nodded, his voice soft. “I’ll be here.”
The two women turned, giving him one last glance before stepping out of the café together.
And as Allen watched them go, his gaze shifted back toward the agency building — the calm, polished glass surface reflecting the mess hiding underneath.
His fingertips tapped idly on the table as the faint steam from his tea continued to rise.
‘Everything’s falling into place,’ he thought.
‘Exactly as it should.’ He looked at the window. ‘Next… Your stop will be prison, Sophia.’
