Chapter 3227: Inquiring Mothers

Chapter 3227: Inquiring Mothers

The dark elf elder of the Aerrirgieff Tribe secluded herself in her chamber in their home tree, completely barricading anybody from entering or beholding her.

She lay down flat on the ground as roots emerged from the ground, burrowing into flesh and into her spinal cord as special organic neural fibers dug into her spinal cord and brain.

When she opened her eyes, she found herself in a different space.

She found herself in the Greater Genoran Flora Consciousness.

It was one of the most prized powers of the elves of Genora to be able to tap into the flora network that existed across the conjoined and merged root network that spread across the entirety of the Genoran Continent.

It contained an astronomically unfathomable amount of information within an even greater collective consciousness.

An organic superintelligence.

Yet, more than being a single cohesive intelligence, it consisted of countless minds working in parallel.

Some minds among them were far larger than the others.

They were, of course, the Mothers of Nature.

That was who she found herself before within the Greater Genoran Flora Consciousness.

“Esteemed Mothers of Nature.” The dark elf elder of the Aerrirgieff Tribe knelt. “I heed your call. I am honored by your attention.”

Before her were one hundred powerful feminine presences.

Each of them hovered above her in the endless ocean of information and cognition within the Greater Genoran Flora Consciousness. Their bodies glowed with an ethereal light as their profound eyes sparkled with boundless power and wisdom.

Each of them was like a world unto herself.

They brimmed with an unfathomable amount of power and intelligence.

They had ascended past their mortal shackles, reaching a higher state of existence.

Rise, Matriarch Miruell of the Aerrirgieff Tribe,” their collective voice beckoned at her. “Rise and speak.”

The elder dark elf rose as she gazed upon the hundred Mothers of Nature of West Genora. “What do you wish to know, O Great Mothers?”

There is, of course, only one thing we seek from you, Matriarch,” one Mother of Nature began with an imperious tone. “You have spent time with the boy and girl. Your insights on them are important and precious. You must share them with us so that we may decide the future of Genora’s relationship with the Lost Continent.”

“…Very well, Mother,” Matriarch Miruell acquiesced willingly. “Despite being delegates of human civilization on the Lost Continent, they were able to forge a true bond of friendship in their time with us, especially the girl, Amare. She is truly compatible with us elves and was able to make friends with dark elves in a matter of minutes. Even our children took well with her. Yet, despite her friendly appearance…”

The Matriarch’s tone grew heavy. “…she harbored an extraordinary amount of power within her. Enough power that it sent chills across my skin just sitting anywhere near her. However, she was extremely good at controlling her power, displaying a profound mastery of it such that not even the children she carried in her arms felt any discomfort from the vastly different power levels. The boy, Rui, however…”

Her eyes grew more solemn.

“…His power was even greater.”

The air grew heavy as the Mothers of Nature regarded her words with great care.

We are already aware that he is tremendously powerful,” Matriarch Pruschilia’s true consciousness addressed the dark elf elder. “He was the one who defeated the late Supreme Commander Anthea.”

Another Mother narrowed her eyes at the shot words. “Anthea was an old man. He was far from his prime, which made him one of the most feared warriors in the world.”

And yet, he was still extraordinarily powerful,” another Mother retorted with a whisper. “None of us could individually best him in warre outside of this continent. And we have needed to muster many of ourselves together to ward them off from Genora.

An evolutionary not far from the end of his lifespan is not a worthy benchmark, even if it was Supreme Commander.”

Enough.”

The command of one particular Mother of Nature caused the little debate to end.

She was the oldest of them all, with a hunched back and a staff carrying most of her weight.

That was merely her elven appearance.

Her true identity was the eldest Mother of Nature, planted at the very epicenter of the continent.

Mother Millischia.

She gazed at the dark elf elder.

Continue. What was your impression of the one they tout as the Dawnbringer?”

The dark elf elder grew engrossed in thought for a few moments before shaking his head.

“An embodiment of a power.”

She directed a sweeping gaze. “Within his person was enough death to raze much of this continent. If let loose, the death he seals within his body could wreak havoc across this continent and destroy everything.”

Her words weren’t too off the mark.

The Gu was a poison that was so powerful that Asmodeous could use it to drown all of Panama into a Gu that produced more Gu. It was what he had intended to do in order to elevate himself to the Transcendent Realm.

Her words caused an eerie silence to emerge within the Mothers of Nature.

If that is the case,” one Mother began. “Then his very existence on this continent is a threat to all of us and the nature we hold dear.”

We may need to be even more careful about how we deal with him.”

“The power of death in an ill and sick man… why did the humans send such a representative to us?”

More importantly… the light elves will not be pleased by this revelation.

A hint of peril lingered in the air.

If we feel alarmed by such power, then they will undoubtedly feel even more threatened by it.”

The dark elves were extroverted and open with other civilizations and continents, the complete opposite of the light elves, who were insular and isolated from the rest of the world.

If Rui’s very existence inspired dread within the dark elves, then there was no telling what it would do to their sisters on the eastern side of the Genora Continent.

We will need to ensure that we finalize a relationship and forge a treaty with the humans as soon as possible, before our sisters disrupt this opportunity to get our hands on exotic treasures.”
