Chapter 3156: Seeking to Know the Future
The Panama Continent shook as a myriad of breakthroughs at all but two Realms swept across the entire continent. The people of the Panama Continent embraced Rui’s gift happily as they recognized it from years ago, save for the young adolescents who would have been too young to remember it.
The familiarity reduced the civil hysteria surrounding the event. The Panama Continent had slowly gotten used to the concept of spontaneous illusions that occasionally offered helpful benefits.
When it was done, a myriad of new Martial Apprentices, Seniors, and even Masters had spontaneously broken through across the entire continent. Rui heaved a sigh, descending from the sky as he turned off his Realms of power, gazing down at the Silas Clan with an expression of satisfaction. It was extremely challenging but also quite fulfilling.
His greatest regret was that he couldn’t break others through to the Sage Realm due to how high the barrier of entry was. Even a single person’s processing would take longer than was practical, and if he resolved to break Masters through to the Sage Realm, he would be permanently occupied with the activity.
It was not worth it for the Panama Continent to be deprived of him as a Martial Artist and instead gain a Sage apotheosizer.
“Alright, now what?”
He pondered as he considered the options at his disposal.
He had visited Kane, Quarrier Town, and the Silas Clan.
That covered friends and family.
He also needed to revisit Amare.
He heaved a sigh. “I need some more time to think and gain more clarity regarding what I’m going to say to her.”
He needed a concrete plan for what his future from this point was going to look like.
And for that, he needed a concrete understanding of what the future of the Panama Continent was going to be, given that his actions were affected by the current strategic outlook in the Panama Continent.
“I guess…” his gaze shifted towards the Town of Vargard. “…I will need to speak to my father once more.”
WHOOSH!
He shot through the sky at incredible speeds, surging towards the capital of the Kandrian Empire, North of the Aravali Forest that homed the Silas Clan. He shot through the afternoon skies above the Kandrian Empire, basking in the bright warmth of the unfolded Sun, enjoying its heat.
Naturally, the changes in the Sun had not been good for the environment of the Panama Continent and had caused some flooding in the Panama Continent. After all, the Northern Mountains of the Kandrian Empire were icy and cold, leading to rivers overflowing due to the accelerated rate of melting of the ice caps.
Each nation had experienced one natural disaster of some kind or another; however, the war with the true world vastly outshone the environmental ramifications of the Unfolding, causing it to not receive the kind of attention that it deserved.
WHOOSH!
He shot over the Town of Vargard once more, appreciating how much the capital town of the Empire had changed in the past eleven years in his time away to the epicenter of the Beast Domain.
Everything had completely modernized.
He felt like he was looking at a city in the Republic of Gorteau, which was among the most modern and technologically advanced nations after the Esocline Federation and the Kandrian Empire.
It was very different from when he was a child, coming to this city for the first time for the Martial Contest when he was a Martial Apprentice.
“Fifty years have passed in the real world since then.”
It was no wonder that the city had changed unrecognizably.
What place remained the same after many decades?
Still, it made him feel surreal about all the time that he had been alive.
He had been alive for seventy-seven years on Gaia, many years of which had been spent in the manifold. It seemed to have passed in the blink of an eye when he considered his entire life from start to finish.
He heaved a sigh as he arrived before the Royal Palace of Vargard once more, rapidly making his way to his father’s Royal Office.
CLACK
The doors to his office opened, unveiling a scattered table and a weary Emperor.
Emperor Rael looked as though he hadn’t been in the best of moods lately, going over the variety of documents while skimming through intelligence reports from True World Intelligence Organization and the Kandrian Intelligence Service.
Behind him, Sage Sayfeel acknowledged Rui with a respectful nod, faithfully guarding his charge with alert awareness.
“My son.” Emperor Rael remarked even as his attention remained engrossed in the documents before him. “It’s good to have you back this quickly. Have you completed your personal engagements?”
Rui’s eyes grew hazy with complex emotions. “…Not quite, unfortunately.”
His father threw him a knowing look of sympathy. “Well, I suppose you’re here to get to business despite that.”
Rui nodded. “…I need to understand what my future for the next few years will look like, and for that, I need to understand what’s going on with the true world and the Panama Continent.”
“That makes sense,” his father replied. “Come, have a seat. Our last talk was cut short by the need to salvage the evolutionary warfront, but with that problem taken care of, at least the most immediate manifestation of it temporarily taken care of, we can have a longer talk about everything that has happened.”
Rui nodded, taking a seat opposite him.
His father put all other matters aside as he gazed deep into Rui’s eyes with the brilliant golden luster in his.
“First, let me thank you as the Emperor of the Kandrian Empire and as the Supreme Commander of the Panamic Alliance.”
His tone was sincere.
“Thank you for leveraging your power to salvage human civilization from the very brink of destruction.”
His eyes were earnest in their gratitude. “Words cannot begin to describe how utterly despairing our strategic circumstances were. I was considering… extreme solutions and risks that we had previously barred off in order to get us out of this.”
