“Rargh!” the giant bellowed as its attacks flew forward with tremendous momentum, threatening to crush Amare where she was.
And yet, by the time his fists reached her, she was already out of the way.
WHOOSH
In the blink of an eye, she surged out of the way of his enormous fists with powerful and fluid evasions. Each evasion required sustained and powerful maneuvers, for each attack that the giant was enormous in its width and area.
A maelstrom of attacks converged upon Amare, and all it took were singular steps that were enough to propel her out of the way of the many attacks that threatened to reduce her to a bloody mist.
WHOOSH WHOOSH WHOOSH!
Her eyes sharpened as she danced about the giant gracefully, weaving past his powerful fists as she drew closer and closer to his body, unleashing a powerful blow that tunneled through the very fabric of reality.
BOOOOOOOOOOOOOOMMM!!!
Her eyes widened as she realized that not even the full force of her attack was able to down the powerful giant who merely staggered the devastating blow despite it permeating throughout the entirety of its body.
Because of its scale, there were certain types defensive maneuvers that were simply vastly more powerful when applied to its body than to a human body. A technique like Inner Divergence which dissipated the impact across its entire body was overpowered in the hands of a giant for its body was truly vast, allowing it dissipate impacts over a great amount of distance.
“Rargh!” the giant resumed its violent onslaught after successfully defending against Amare’s attack, threatening to swat her flat like an insect.
Each attack shook heaven and earth with a violent flux of seismic energy that both the other Martial Sages and the lesser giants struggled to withstand.
RUMBLE!!!!!!
“Rgh…!” Shinken gritted his teeth as he observed the giants with a keen eye. “These creatures… are of the same species.”
“Well, duh!” another Martial Sage glared at him.
“If they had undergone the Body Evolution process of the Squire Realm, then they wouldn’t be of the same species,” Sage Shinken insightfully pointed out. “Which means that the giant is able to activate a Martial Heart without having undergone a Squire Evolution process. But…”
Sage Shinken’s expression grew severe. “That’s supposed to be impossible. It is the Squire Evolution process that elevates the potential that we harness in our Martial Hearts and Martial Minds. Without it, it doesn’t make sense that a lifeform has so much of its true power shackled in the form of untapped physical potential, unless…”
His gaze shifted to the other giants.
They were quite big too.
And yet, there were, among them, a handful that were smaller than the others, unnaturally so. So much so that they might even be considered dwarves among the giants, at least.
“…Unless their size isn’t a direct and inherent trait of the species but is something that is evolved and elevated,” he realized. “In which case, maybe they enhance their bodily potential to reach the equivalent of a Martial Heart by virtue of their enormity.”
If that was the case, that would explain why a giant was able to activate a Martial Heart without having gone through a Body Evolution.
Regardless, it didn’t change the fact that they would have to beat them, one way or another.
“The Omni-Martial can handle herself,” Sage Shinken concluded as he watched Amare take on the Senior Giant. “Let’s handle the rest of them.”
They surged in with great vigor and power, away from the battle between the strongest giant and the strongest Martial Sage on the battlefield, before commencing a violent siege upon the giants who stood atop the waters of the Great Nam Ocean.
BOOOM BOOOM BOOOM!!!!!
The intense battle to keep the giants away from the Panama Continent ensued as they unleashed everything they had to not just repel the attackers but also kill them, if possible.
What terrified them was the prospect of one of the other giants also activating their Martial Heart and breaking through their equivalent of the Senior Realm.
These giants were able to rival Sages one-on-one, but if they broke through to the Senior Realm?
Chills crawled across their spine as their attention turned to the giant that had managed to keep Amare tied up in evasion even as she did everything in her power to get closer and closer to her opponent.
Perhaps the only difference was the fact that these giants weren’t as efficient on a mechanical and thermodynamical level the way that Martial Artists were, making his Martial Heart not as effectively utilized as a Martial Senior, which was yet another hint that the giants were not just Martial Artists but bigger but were on a different path with some similarities with Martial Paths.
It also got them to wonder what ‘paths’ really were.
The question of what a Martial Path is was one of the most profound unanswered questions in the Martial World in the modern era. Not even the wisest of Sages and not even the immortal sages such as the Psycher had been able to decode this profound metaphysical phenomenon.
The existence of potentially other ‘paths’ out there caused them to rethink everything they knew about the Martial Path.
But more importantly, it still begged the question that lingered on the minds of all Martial Sages.
“What if they discover their Martial Mind?”
If they had an equivalent of what was extremely similar to Martial Heart, then wasn’t it also possible for them to have a similar equivalent of a Martial Mind?
If that was the case, then the giants had bottomless potential as beings, the horrors of the kind of power that they would achieve with a Martial Mind equivalent were truly chilling to worry about.
They would be unable to sleep at night, knowing that they could potentially reach an unfathomable level of power.
“Kill as many as possible,” Sage Shinken gritted his teeth as he pushed himself to the very limit.
