Chapter 1728: Cut my life into pieces, this is my last resortChapter 1728: Cut my life into pieces, this is my last resort
“Irritating worm, your illusions don’t affect me!” Kreel exclaimed, summoning even more mental energy and attacking Lex. But he made a critical mistake. This time, while Lex was still using illusions mixed with reality to confuse Kreel, he had not in any way magnified the actual strength of his attack. Kreel was cut off from the laws, though that was a lot harder than it had been with Jeziah. Time and time again, Lex felt his senses playing tricks on him, confusing him about whether the laws were fluctuating or not. He was in danger of relaxing his control over them, allowing Kreel to regain access.
It was only through sheer resilience that he had managed to keep the illusions from affecting him.
But that did not change the fact that Kreel remained ridiculously strong and resilient. All of Lex’s attempts to restrain and control him were failing, and with the added pressure of the white beads, it was best to just kill him. After all, Lex didn’t even know if he could continue to sense Kreel once his lotus form wore off!
So he held nothing back. His immense physical strength, within the Abaddon Inn, was translated into sheer mental strength, backed by his Domination and sword intent.
The result was so powerful that Kreel mistook it for an illusion, and made his first mistake. He took the attack head on.
His tendrils of mental energy crumpled as if they did not even exist. The sword slash cut his body in half without so much as the slightest bit of resistance, shocking Kreel.
But if all Lex’s attack did was cut Kreel and then pass him by, how would that be any different from his attacks as a mortal? No, after dissecting in half, the attack was absorbed entirely into his body, cutting Kreel up on a microscopic level!
His soul, his mind, even his body outside the Abaddon Inn, all were being shredded into pieces.
Kreel’s eyes bulged with anger, and hints of disbelief as he glared at Lex.
“Since you want to cut my life into pieces, I’ll have to use my last resort,” he threatened, and then his body dissolved into air, entirely disappearing.
Lex was ready for Kreel to appear above or behind him, yet that didn’t happen. Instead, Lex felt a foreign power trying to invade his mind!
The Abaddon Inn was a prison inside Kreel’s mind, and Lex had entered by turning himself into a thought. But now Kreel was trying to invade Lex’s spirit. In fact, Lex could feel that Kreel was thoroughly latched onto him, trying to pierce through Lex’s defenses and dominate him! View the correct content at we.bno vel.cm
From the very start, Kreel had only been trying to enslave Lex, as if that was much more important to him than trying to kill Lex. Even now, Lex could feel that his intent had not changed.
Lex felt like there was probably a deeper reason for why Kreel was acting this way, but it was not time to find out. Lex’s lotus form, which could absorb any and all kinds of energy, was unable to absorb Kreel’s attacks, and instead kept defending him from damage, consuming its energy pool. Fortunately, Kreel was already seriously injured, and Lex’s one sword slash had nearly finished the job. Now, all he had to do was deliver the final touches.
Lex controlled the Abaddon Inn, and teleported himself to the Meditation room and sat down. Since Kreel was now literally attached to Lex, it was actually much easier to attack him. Lex sat down in a meditative position and closed his eyes, allowing the effects of the chamber to begin taking effect.
Almost immediately, smoke started to rise from his skin, yet he wasn’t the one burning. No, the effect of the Meditation room inside Abaddon Inn was to literally eviscerate the target’s spirit.
The smoke seemed to be rising from Lex’s skin, but in truth, it was the invisible Kreel who was being burned up.
A visceral scream tore through the chamber, and the force attached to Lex’s body retreated, forming a translucent figure of Kreel. But try as he might, he could not escape the Meditation room.
The smoke kept burning up his spirit, which is all he was at that point, and the sword energy within him kept cutting up his soul. In but a moment, it became fairly obvious that Kreel would not survive.
To Lex’s immense surprise, faced with death, Kreel did not become angry or desperate. Instead, he calmed down, and truly observed Lex for the first time.
“You are lucky you met me in such an injured state,” Kreel said, at last, his voice completely level despite being burned alive. “You would not have survived if I were uninjured.”
“You are unlucky you met me,” Lex responded. “No matter what state you would have met me in, killing you would have always been within my reach. It’s just that capturing you is harder than I expected.”
Kreel snorted, and then smiled at Lex. It was a cold smile, filled with schadenfreude.
“Oh you poor human, you know nothing,” he said, before his body disappeared completely.
The Abaddon Inn disappeared and Lex found himself as a thought within an empty body. Kreel was dead, but that did not give Lex any feeling of satisfaction. In fact, he could feel that Kreel’s last words were more than an empty threat or boasting.
Lex exited Kreel’s body, wary of any threats. As expected, the threat came. He felt something trying to attach itself to him, and it was relentless in its attempts.
Lex felt his lotus form quickly losing energy, as if it was fighting against a particularly formidable foe.
A tremor ran through Lex’s body, as the weight of his form change was finally beginning to affect him seriously. He just needed to hold on until this attack, whatever it was, finished.
But, at the worst possible moment, another white bead appeared on the Go board, and Lex’s lotus form faded, its energy disappearing entirely.
An invisible, malevolent force attached itself to Lex’s body, but the only thing on Lex’s mind was how much he wanted to kill the guy controlling the white beads! He grit his teeth and prepared for the worst… but nothing happened.
