Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts
Chapter 927 - 927: A Sneak Attack*Crumble!*
The floor collapsed, showing another floor underneath them.
“What are we doing here?” Alavenya asked while looking around. The interior was not as different as the one on the surface.
Nathan scanned the area and said, “We’re looking for an alien, and we don’t have a lot of time for it. We need to scatter and search this floor before regrouping here and going to the next floor. This is the biggest area I can think of where we can create a hole without harming the pillars supporting the building.”
“Alright. We don’t want to be buried underneath this place anyway.” Alavenya nodded.
Once they reached an agreement, they split up. Xingtian might not have the ability to speak, but it seemed to be able to share its intention with Alavenya. As a result, Alavenya understood what he was trying to say in one way or another.
In addition, Xingtian himself was quite intelligent despite not having his head. He could understand what they were trying to do and just split up.
Alavenya was also quick on her feet. Although she didn’t know what kind of alien they were trying to find, this alien must be either important or dangerous.
Mae and Nathan also split up in a different direction. Since they were searching for aliens, they just scanned the area, considering the aliens wouldn’t be too small to hide in the corner.
And if it was a powerful alien, there was no way they would stay hidden when encountering them.
Hence, the group could continue fast and regrouped after five minutes.
Since there was no alien in sight, they continued to the third floor and spent another five minutes searching for an alien, but they still couldn’t find any alien.
“Is there really an alien here? Most of them are outside, so I don’t think there are any aliens here.” Alavenya asked.
Nathan gritted his teeth. He couldn’t answer that question. On the one hand, he hadn’t asked Fenrir whether there was a danger in this place or not. On the other hand, Fenrir might not be able to sense something this deep.
Still, they had to find it within fifteen minutes. If the third floor showed no sign of aliens, they had to go back to the surface and stop Selena’s summoning ritual.
This was the agreement he had reached with Selena.
That was why he pinned his last hope on the next floor. He said, “There’s no time to hesitate. Let’s go!”
“Fine!” Alavenya didn’t understand what was going on, but Nathan’s desperate face said it all. There was no need to think about anything else.
She struck the ground one more time, leading them to a hole to the next floor.
This time, Nathan was lucky… or might not be as lucky.
The moment they landed on the next floor, Xingtian hurriedly moved toward Alavenya’s back.
“Watch out!” Mae shouted, warning everyone.
“!!!” Nathan and Alavenya widened their eyes and turned around.
They saw a humanoid alien already right before them. The humanoid alien was as tall as a normal human, but its head was similar to that of a beast. It had a muscular body, but the skin was jet black, as if the black cell covered its entire body.
Xingtian moved between the alien and Alavenya, raising his shield.
However, the strength of the alien had far surpassed Nathan’s prediction.
The alien simply launched Xingtian to the other side of the room.
*Bam!*
Xingtian spat out blood, struggling to get up. His shield didn’t crack, but the arm that held that shield had its bones broken.
“You!” Alavenya spun her body and punched the alien from the side, but the alien was much faster than her.
“Alavenya!” Nathan panicked.
Alavenya gritted her teeth, switching her stance at the last moment. Her other arm grabbed the alien’s fist, but to her surprise, that punch actually broke her bones right away.
Mae used her tail to push Alavenya slightly to avoid the worst outcome. That slight change in the angle resulted in the arm being snapped in a different direction instead of getting destroyed completely.
“Arghhhhhh!” Alavenya was pushed away. She held her arm while gritting her teeth.
Because of what she had done, the alien grabbed Mae’s tail and pulled her toward him.
“Tsk!” Mae tried to activate her illusion, but the alien raised its other hand. A blade soon formed from its fingers as though it was trying to cut this tail off.
Nathan moved forth. There was no way he would let him chop off such a fluffy tail. He took out his pistol and was ready to blast him, but the alien simply smirked.
“Master!” Mae stretched out her tails to block, but the blade simply pushed through the tails and pierced Nathan with a speed that even Nathan couldn’t react to.
“Gah!” Nathan spat out a mouthful of blood. He managed to avoid his vitals, but this stab was extremely dangerous.
Mae, who was distracted by Nathan’s injury, ended up failing to form her illusion. The alien hurriedly grasped her neck, ready to snap it.
“You bastard!” Nathan gritted his teeth. While enduring the pain, he activated his time magic to speed up himself.
And it was at this moment he finally understood what was going on. The alien before him was much more dangerous than he originally thought.
It was an elite class alien. It was the same as the centipede, but unlike the centipede, this one was fast and acted like a human. It showed no mercy and behaved as efficiently as possible.
There was no way the four of them could handle such a being. Even against the centipede, the best they could do was repel its attack from a distance. If there was no distance between them, Nathan had no way to fight the elite class alien.
However, Clovis had two options. The first one was to somehow escape and go to the surface, hoping that Selena had finished her summoning. They either retreated or had Count Ashton hold back this opponent.
The second option was to rely on the Sleeping Garden. Just like what happened in the Rororoi Village, he could call Evelyn’s help, even if it meant exposing that connection all of a sudden and paying a huge price for her help.
