Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts
Chapter 913 - 913: Intercontinental Travel“What do you think?” Flora asked, her gaze shifting to Nathan. In the end, this information was so important that she had to ask Nathan for advice. If this information was revealed to her father, she didn’t know what his reaction would be.
Nathan crossed his arms. “For the time being, no one can tell anyone about this information. Not even the king. The reason is simple. No matter how influential they are, they won’t be the ones leading this research.
“Even if it’s given to someone else they can trust, not all of that person’s subordinates can be trusted. If it leaks, the society will collapse.
“However, it’s true that research like this is extremely precious. If there is indeed an alien that can converse with us, our understanding about aliens might change drastically.
“At the same time, if we end this war against aliens, it means summoners will cease to exist. After all, we won’t get any more cores from the aliens.
“There might be another way to remain, but this is the exact reason we shouldn’t tell anyone yet. At the very least, find an alien to know more about the situation before thinking about revealing this information.”
Selena agreed with Nathan’s opinion. However, it didn’t really bother her much since she didn’t particularly care about this information. Selena glanced at Sera. “I remind you again. Don’t tell the pope… just yet.”
“I know.” Sera smiled wryly. “Am I that hard to be trusted?”
Nathan raised one finger. “For now, we should store the books in our space ring and just put that book in the new library Charlotte made. At least, she should be the one keeping this record and protecting it.
“As for the rest of his experiment tools, we won’t take any of it. If the experiment is really successful, it means we can recreate that achievement later.”
“I understand. In that case, Noelle and I will gather them in our space bracelet.” Flora glanced at Noelle. They were originally the ones tasked with investigating that building, so it was fine for them to bring it.
Nathan nodded. He fully trusted Flora, believing that there was no way Flora would hide one or two books to secretly give them to her father. “In that case, what did you find, Selena? Is there anything here?”
“Nothing much. This place is a storage facility. It contains a lot of things, but most of them are already spoiled due to the passing of time.”
Nathan gave a thumbs-up. “For now, if you see anything useful, just bring it back with us. Then, once we get enough rest, we will continue our journey. In the end, we still have to pass that mountain range, so make sure we get ready for all the challenges.”
They all nodded as they began to walk away.
“Still, the research is indeed unexpected.”
“Indeed. Is he aware that his research is something no one would have expected? The aliens, huh? Can we even meet an alien that retains their intelligence to that degree?”
“Who knows? Maybe we can meet them in the future.”
“Unprecedented moment in history.”
Nathan had been silent this whole time, which made Alavenya curious. After all, Nathan seemed to know a lot of random things. He said it came from his familiars. And it was true that his familiars were all extraordinary and the knowledge they possessed was beyond anything they had seen so far.
But this silence was different. It was as if he was constantly in deep thought. His expression was slightly grim, but he didn’t show it much to avoid making everyone worry.
And it was true. Nathan had been pondering all the findings so far. He realized how little he knew about the aliens.
While he indeed had some understanding about these aliens, their exact situation remained unknown.
More importantly, what was the black cell? This black cell was much more mysterious than the aliens for him, and it was the source of their problem.
His original goal was to become a strong summoner and have a harem. But would destroying the black cell cause any other problems for that goal?
In the end, he had to consider not only the goal but also the overall situation. And the one he could rely on was the Sleeping Garden.
He didn’t think he would bring the girls to another continent. He had several reasons, such as someone had to remain here and get stronger while protecting what he had built so far or the fact that the Sleeping Garden was much more suitable for this kind of trip because of their versatility and strength. They were also much more experienced in a covert mission.
Last but not least, the world would soon experience an ice age. With such a massive volcanic eruption, the ash had been pouring down for several months. The ash cloud blocked the sunlight and lowered the temperature drastically.
Going outside had become increasingly difficult due to the temperature going lower and lower. And soon, they would experience an ice age.
While the ocean wouldn’t be frozen solid, there would be much more ice coverage. On Earth, this kind of period would allow humans to immigrate from one continent to another by crossing the ice.
But for Nathan, it might mark an era that he couldn’t predict. After all, if immigration between continents was possible, the target might leave that continent to wreak havoc in another place. Tracking them would take too much time.
Hence, they didn’t have much time left before the ice age.
He couldn’t imagine what kind of battle would be in the ice-covered ocean. So, there were many uncertainties the longer he waited.
‘As expected, after rescuing Selena’s father, I will focus on getting stronger for two to three months… No, I might have to shorten it to two months max before dealing with the Divine Hand. The only problem is the preparation for crossing the ocean.
‘I guess I will discuss it with Evelyn later. She might be able to prepare everything else. After learning about the aliens, I feel like I have more worries than questions now…’ Nathan sighed inwardly.
