Summoners War: Only I Summoned Divine Beasts

Chapter 805 - 805: Going into the Alien Territory

Early in the morning, Nathan and the others were standing outside the gate with Layfon accompanying them.

“You didn’t look good.” Sullivan furrowed his eyebrows.

“Ahahaha. I know that. We have been reading the record for the entire night. Don’t worry. I will play it safe today and focus on recovering today.” Nathan waved his hand, treating it as not a big deal.

“Well, I won’t interfere with your decision. Whether you fail or not, Layfon will be the one telling me about it.” Sullivan shrugged. “Do you have everything you need?”

“Yes. We’ve got everything.” Nathan nodded. “I hope you don’t back down from your promise if we succeed.”

“Heh. Tell that after you complete the mission.” Sullivan snorted. “Anyway, I know you’re capable, but this mission is just the bare minimum if you want to go into alien territory. Keep that in mind.”

“Yes. In that case, we’ll take our leave now.” Nathan politely bowed.

Sullivan nodded as Nathan and the others turned around. It was time for adventure.

The group first went to the north until they saw the road split and went to the left, heading to their destination. According to the map, they would have to cross two hills and a river before reaching their destination.

Normally, Nathan would ask his familiar to fly so that they could cross a long distance with minimal effort.

Yet, this whole time, Nathan and the group continued on foot with no sign of them summoning their familiars.

Once they had gone far enough, Nathan finally summoned Fenrir and Jinwu.

“As usual, you scout the area,” said Nathan.

Jinwu nodded and took off. Fenrir remained by his side to use his senses to confirm any sign of danger in case Jinwu missed them.

After all, once they took the road on the left, the scenery gradually changed. More and more trees started to appear and it would continue increasing until they reached the hill.

Still, going by foot and at this pace would take too long.

Layfon couldn’t help but ask, “Shouldn’t you go faster than this? At this pace, you will only reach your destination in three days.”

“No. We’re keeping this pace for the whole day. I have to consider everyone’s fatigue, considering we haven’t slept yet.” Nathan shook his head.

“Then, if you’re tired, why don’t you ask your flying beast to bring you up there? If not, how about asking your wolf? He should be able to bring at least three of you, right? Noelle Flamante should also have a mount so she can bring the last one.”

“No. We’ll keep this pace for a whole day. I don’t plan to go faster than this.” Nathan glanced. “Are you trying to sabotage us or something?”

“No. What are you talking about?”

“I was just saying.” Nathan shrugged. “For us, who have never gone to the alien territory, the first day is the most important. That’s why we have to be extra careful.

“By going slowly, we will be able to familiarize ourselves with the environment, which allows us to understand the number of aliens and confirm their behaviors.

“Once we get the gist of the alien territory, we will increase our pace.” Nathan shook his head.

“Hmm…” Layfon rubbed his chin. “So, you’re planning to let your flying beast scout. With that size and the ena that even I have a hard time sensing, he should be able to go around the vicinity without being noticed by an alien.

“Meanwhile, your group will continue like this without doing much?”

“Yes.” Nathan nodded. “Even if we walk at this pace, we should be able to reach the first hill before dark. According to the record, there’s a cave that the scouts usually used to shelter themselves from the rain. We’re planning to set up our camp there.

“With this, we’ll focus on recovering our condition by giving ample time to sleep. Only after we recover will we increase our pace.

“If we increase our pace right away and reach the second hill, we have to be careful since it’s said that the aliens love to use the space between two hills as a nest. In other words, we might get attacked there if we increase our pace.

“Last but not least, using a flying beast to bring us to our destination is a foolish decision. Flying in the sky might increase our speed drastically, but it also stands out. Doing that will help us in getting surrounded. Unless it’s truly necessary, I don’t plan to fly in the sky.”

Layfon actually agreed with Nathan’s simple plan. Nathan’s decision might look questionable at first glance, but it was actually a thought-out plan.

He considered everyone’s condition and the terrain before choosing the most optimal plan.

In the end, they should consider their safety above speed when venturing to the alien territory. Nathan understood it very well and came up with the current plan.

“I see. That sounds logical to me.” Layfon nodded. Nathan had just cleared the first test.

With him knowing how to behave in the alien territory, he should be able to go far.

‘Still, if he thinks the alien territory is that easy, he has to think again.’

“…” Fenrir suddenly raised his head, alerting Nathan and the others.

Before he could speak, Jinwu had returned and perched on Nathan’s shoulder. “We have a problem.”

The rest of the girls turned around.

“Not far from here, I noticed a group of aliens. I’m not sure about their number, but you can expect them to be close to a hundred, if not more. There are two mature class aliens among them from what I can see, and one juvenile class has a body as tall as the tree.

“Going around is impossible because that path has been blocked by not just this group, but also other groups of aliens in the area.

“Those groups are similar in size. They’re mostly humanoid aliens, while the middle one consists of beast-like aliens,” reported Jinwu.

“…” Nathan’s expression turned solemn. “Everyone, it’s time to hunt.”
