Chapter 1023: Chaos in Four Kingdoms... or Not

Chapter 1023: Chaos in Four Kingdoms… or Not

In all four kingdoms, they had mobilized their troops. Still, as one would expect, the situation would be surprising for everyone.

After all, all of a sudden, multiple people in the town turned into an alien.

“Kyaaa!”

“Help me!”

The people were scattering while screaming, trying to get as far as possible.

One guy wasn’t as lucky, as he got caught by the alien and had his heart pierced. However, a middle-aged man suddenly appeared and slashed the alien into pieces, not letting it have any chance to regenerate.

Several other people leaped from one roof to another, spreading all around the city to take down the aliens.

“That’s…” A guy who was running earlier couldn’t help but stop as if he recognized the middle-aged man. “That’s… the captain of the royal knight, Zack Flamante!”

“We are saved?!”

“What’s going on? How can a human turn into an alien?”

“Can that be called an alien?”

The people were shocked, confused, and relieved at the same time.

Zack looked around and said, “I am Zack Flamante, the captain of the royal knight. The royal knight will be assisting the city’s guards to suppress the aliens, so we ask all citizens to remain calm and follow the guards’ instructions.”

With Zack personally calming them down, the people felt a bit more assured. Although they didn’t know what was going on, they knew the situation was under control.

Zack couldn’t help but glance at the alien’s corpse. ‘The attack should have begun. It looks like they are indeed capable of releasing the aliens from far away.

‘Fortunately, we have some accurate information. Most of the victims have been saved.

‘Unfortunately, we don’t have enough time or personnel to save everyone. At the very least, there are ten aliens in this city.

‘But if we didn’t take any action, it could have been more than one hundred. We could suppress ten of them easily, but one hundred? It’ll take a much longer time.

‘During that time, hundreds, if not thousands, of civilians would have been hurt. And this is just counting the number of people in one city.

‘If we add other cities, the number can easily reach tens of thousands. The impacted civilians will be at least hundreds of thousands. And this chaos will be spread to all four kingdoms, which will cause even more devastation.

‘Although I dislike this, it’s also a blessing in disguise to have some humans turning into aliens. The citizens will realize what is happening and the fact that the government is still competent enough.

‘Once the royal family releases the statement regarding the symptom as well as the true number, people will feel grateful. The morale and trust will be quite high, which is what the government needs, especially after the volcanic eruption.

‘It doesn’t look like the ash cloud is going to disappear for a few years, so during this crisis, we need the cooperation of the citizens.

‘Still…’ Zack was clicking his tongue inwardly. No matter how he worded it, he disliked the idea of using the civilians’ lives to do it. Unfortunately, he couldn’t do anything but offer big compensation for the deceased.

‘I guess we are able to minimize the casualties. From hundreds of thousands to mere tens of people or a hundred…’ Zack ended up smiling, thinking about Nathan. ‘He has done well.

‘The only problem is… there might be some people who are in the middle of travel or who have reached another city. Although the number is not low, we have to find them quickly and settle the unrest.’

Zack took a deep breath before grabbing the corpse. “I’m sorry. However, I have to continue working. I will be taking this with me. Don’t forget to follow the guards’ instructions.”

Zack just left the scene, and no one dared to stop him.

The same scene was happening all around the world.

“This is…” The Pope squinted his eyes, staring at the city. “I’m glad that we have that information.”

“That’s good.” Minister Kevin nodded with a smile. “I’m nothing but a messenger. However, the kid has done well. To think they would even get this kind of information. Still, I’m thankful that Your Holiness is willing to listen to this information.”

The Pope chuckled. He remembered Kevin’s desperation as he was screaming, “Please listen to me. I’m bringing the word of His Majesty, Julius. This is an emergency that can throw an entire kingdom into chaos.”

He kept screaming despite being restrained by them after making so much chaos in the grand temple.

But, if not for him listening to it, the Holy Kingdom would have been in chaos.

“I have dispatched everyone. Whether you are saints or saintesses, divine knights, paladins, or even bishops, you are expected to suppress these aliens. I hope everyone does well. I don’t wish for any city to fall into such chaos.”

“We share the same wish.” Kevin nodded.

“Nathan, was it? I guess I should visit him to thank him personally for that information. I’d like to express my gratitude for the medicine that the Azilia Kingdom provided as well.”

“For Your Holiness to visit personally…” Kevin looked surprised, wondering if the Pope wanted to recruit Nathan during this visit.

“Hahaha. Well, I still owe him a dowry, so I guess I will bring it along.” The Pope waved his hand, assuring him that he didn’t have that intention by making that lighthearted comment.

Kevin let out a sigh of relief.

The same thing occurred in all four kingdoms. There was no problem in the Liaystian Kingdom because Vice Commander Rood personally took the lead in spreading their forces.

However, Albert struggled a bit to convince the Beast Kingdom. Fortunately, he managed to do it after mentioning that their king would take full responsibility if the information was false, and the Azilia Kingdom would issue a formal apology after that.

After all, moving to an entire kingdom was not an easy thing to do. With the Azilia Kingdom’s guarantee, they had no choice but to act. They got the medicine for free anyway.

But thanks to their valiant efforts, the casualty had been minimized. The chaos that the Divine Hand expected would never come. Unfortunately, they weren’t there to witness their own failure.
