When it came to mastering the power of time, the Spirit Nidus was at a severe disadvantage. Progenitor Chen had mastered Inverse Step, improving it until he was able to move parallel to time, skip time, and even reverse time. In particular, when it came to reversing time, not even Progenitor Chen himself knew what might happen.
A single palm strike landed on the lance, and flames erupted from that hand. This was the law of the universe that Progenitor Chen had mastered after numerous insights: Warfire. It was an eternal flame, endless and unquenchable.
Flames flickered, but they were repelled by the round-faced old man and unable to approach him. Even so, the flames managed to push the lance aside.
The combination of the chaotic field of time and Warfire was enough to forcibly hold back the old man’s sequence particles, despite him being a powerful Dukkhan.
Lu Yin was not the slightest bit worried about Progenitor Chen. No matter what might happen, the man could always skip time and survive that way.
Out of all the historical figures he had heard about, Lu Yin was the most familiar with Progenitor Chen. Like Lu Yin, Progenitor Chen had cultivated various powers, but instead of unifying them into a single path, he had used nine clones, and each had mastered a different power to perfection. It was a different path, but it also had limitations, whereas Lu Yin’s path had none.
Lu Yin charged at Bao Qi, a hand raised and ready to strike down. His strength touched upon the limit of the megaverse, and Infinity’s light could be seen around him as Verdant Eternity suffused his inner universe. Bao Qi felt completely suffocated.
The Seraph waved a hand, pulling over his Cauldron Bell, only for it to be knocked aside by Lu Yuan’s Champions' Stage.
Lu Yin and Progenitor Chen both attacked Bao Qi with their palm strikes, knocking the man back and disrupting the Cauldron Bell, which allowed Chu Yi and Lu Yuan to also join in on the assault.
There was a deafening collision that shattered the sky and broke the ground.Bao Qi spat out blood as he was crushed by Lu Yin’s palm. Half of the Seraph’s bones shattered. Only at this moment did he realize how terrifyingly powerful Lu Yin was. His strength was simply inhuman.
Lu Yin reached out a hand to grab Bao Qi. The man was a Seraph, and he was more valuable alive than dead.
Bao Qi’s eyes flared, and his savage nature fully erupted. He roared at the sky as his silent power spread out like black ink. It blasted towards Lu Yin, and ripples spread out across the Mirari Realm. The Cauldron Bell was struck, and it released a thunderous sound.
Clang!
Both Progenitor Chen and Lu Yin, who were the closest to the sequence base, were momentarily stunned. The sound shattered Lu Yuan's Champions' Stage, and both Chu Yi and Progenitor Ku were briefly frozen in place.
The old man looked at Bao Qi, who had just fallen. The man was no longer a Dukkhan, but rather an Ortuser. During this critical battle, the man had failed to stay a Dukkhan.
Never again would he be able to break through. It was impossible for Bao Qi to ever become an Immortal.
A strange sadness overcame the Seraph. There was no denying that the Spirit Nidus was a megaverse that greatly surpassed the Tianyuan Megaverse, and they were also the invaders who were determined to reset the megaverse. So then, why had things turned out in such a way? Every moment after they arrived in the Tianyuan Megaverse replayed in the old man’s mind, and they each made him feel helpless.
Invading the Tianyuan Megaverse was not as easy as he had imagined. The Spirit Nidus was invading someone else’s home, and while the Seraphs had succeeded in entering the Mirari Realm, that had just proven to be just another trap.
Tian Ci had been betrayed by Aeternus, which had led to him being captured by the Heavens Sect. They had only discovered this moments before entering the Mirari Realm, as Lu Yin had revealed this piece of information.
Wei Nu had claimed that opening the Mirari Realm would grant the Spirit Nidus and Aeternus an opportunity to deal with Lu Yin, but it had become increasingly clear that Lu Yin was the one whose ambush was succeeding. The Aeternals had absolutely no intention of helping the Spirit Nidus’s Seraphs.
The old man felt completely helpless. In this place, they were entirely surrounded by enemies.
"Bao Qi, let’s go," the president growled as the Impression Realm once again released a surge of sequence particles that filled the sky.
Each such outburst damaged the sequence base, especially when done during battle.
The Impression Realm was noticeably smaller than when the battle had first started.
Unfortunately, there was no other choice. Without releasing such a surge of sequence particles, there was no hope of escaping.
Bao Qi grinned. He seemed like an entirely different person from before. He opened his mouth, and a multicolored light appeared that shot straight at Lu Yin.
During the first battle at the Tianyuan Megaverse’s boundary, Bao Qi had crushed Lord Xu’s shell and suppressed Sovereign Dou Sheng with this same multicolored light. It was an attack that carried the destructive power of an Ortuser, though it was far weaker than the attacks that Bao Qi could use through the Cauldron Bell.
Lu Yin casually dispersed the beam of light, and he was about to attack again when the Mirari Realm suddenly changed. The temporal mist, which had been scattered by the battle, started to surge in from all directions. It looked as though someone was controlling it.
Lu Yin’s eyes flickered. “Watch out! It’s Wei Nu.”
Aside from those fighting in the battle, the only one who could act in the Mirari Realm was Wei Nu.
The two Seraphs took advantage of the opportunity and tore the void open while preparing to escape.
Lu Yin’s palm shook, and his inner universe spread out to envelop his surroundings, and the stars started to move as he used the Cosmic Art.
With the Cosmic Art activated, escape became impossible, as there was no longer any way to create a stable tear in space.
All around, the temporal mist poured down like liquid silver. Everyone was surrounded and connected to the River of Aeons. As one, they all looked in the same direction. A small boat appeared from the depths of the mist that billowed up from the River of Aeons, and it slowly drew closer.
Staring at the small boat, Lu Yin thought of just one thing: the ferryman.
Did the River of Aeons have a boat? No one had ever seen or considered it, but the revelation of Wei Nu’s identity as the River of Aeons had a ferryman implied that there had to also be a boat.
The small boat sailed down the River of Aeons and onto the temporal mist. Slowly, it drifted above everyone’s heads.
Far away, the River of Aeons surged and dropped onto everyone, moving with the mist.
Lu Yin and the others' expressions all changed dramatically.
“Get the boat!” Lu Yuan shouted.
No one could directly touch the River of Aeons. Doing so would result in a torture worse than death.
In the past, Feng Bo had chosen to escape into one of the Mirari Realm’s forbidden zones instead of jumping into the River of Aeons. While it looked like a river, it was actually time itself. Falling into the River of Aeons would condemn a person to the agony of wandering between life and death and reliving their past miseries. It was enough to drive anyone insane.
As far as anyone knew, no one had ever experienced such torture, though they all instinctively understood that it would happen.
Lu Yin was also aware of this. Big Sis had fallen into the River of Aeons, which had resulted in her losing her cultivation and transforming from Progenitor Yōu Ming into Big Sis. Whatever the woman had experienced during that time, she had never spoken a word of it. The pain was too deep.
As the River of Aeons surged, everyone raced for the small boat, aside from the super giants’ ancestor, who was too far away to reach the boat.
Lu Yin was the first to board it, and nearby, the round-faced old man did the same.
The two immediately started to fight on the boat.
Bao Qi, Progenitor Chen, Chu Yi, Lu Yuan, and the others all got on as well.
It was incredibly easy to board the boat. In fact, it almost seemed too easy.
Clearly, this was the ferryman's boat.
Suddenly, a chill ran down Lu Yin’s spine, and scenes flashed through his vision. All of the scenes were from his own point of view. What was going on?
Beside him, Lightstream appeared as a boat. "Come with me."
Chu Yi and the others were startled, as none of them understood what Lu Yin was doing. Still, seeing him get into Lightstream, they all quickly followed.
The Seraphs’ hearts dropped. The fact that Lu Yin had abandoned the chance to kill them and had instead fled onto his own boat that was formed from the power of time indicated that something was very wrong.
The two men looked down at the boat they stood upon. "We can’t stay."
They had both risen up to become Seraphs after starting as ordinary humans, and throughout that time, they had braved the risk of death too many times. Lu Yin's odd behavior gave them both chills.
However, there was nowhere nearby where the two men could hide.
The temporal mist was still covering everything, and it was impossible to tear through the void. There was only one direction available: a forbidden zone.
The Spirit Nidus had heard many legend about the Mirari Realm, which was why the two Seraphs knew that the Mirari Realm had forbidden zones that should not be entered casually. However, given how much time had passed, and how late Bao Qi had become a Seraph, he was not fully aware of the associated dangers.
The round-faced old man hesitated, but Bao Qi immediately jumped off the boat and hurried into a forbidden zone, which was not shrouded with mist.
Rather than fall into the River of Aeons or remain on a boat that not even Lu Yin dared to stay aboard, the forbidden zone clearly offered what seemed to be a better chance of survival.
The old man only hesitated briefly before following after Bao Qi.
On Lightstream, Lu Yin and the others watched as the two Seraphs moved towards the forbidden zone. No one tried to stop the two men, and instead, they simply watched.
Suddenly, the temporal mist, which was flowing like liquid silver, pulled back. At the same time, the small boat that had been sailing atop the River of Aeons faded and disappeared, while the River of Aeons itself moved away from the mist.
Everything happened in an instant.
What had just happened felt like an illusion. It seemed unreal.
Bao Qi had already arrived at the entrance of the forbidden zone, the other Seraph right on his tail. They looked back and saw that the Mirari Realm had already returned to normal, and they instinctively stopped running.
Lu Yin waved a hand, and Lightstream shot towards the fleeing men. Lu Yin might not know what Wei Nu was planning, but the most important thing at the moment was to deal with the two Seraphs.
Because of the River of Aeons and the small boat that had appeared, Lu Yin and the others were all very far away from Bao Qi and the old man.
The old man gave Lu Yin and the others a look of frustration. He would be sure to return to the Mirari Realm one day.
He prepared to tear through the void.
No one noticed that a shadow had appeared in the depths of the forbidden zone. It was a very familiar silhouette, though it did not belong to any human. It was Astral Anura.
Lu Yin and the others stood on Lightstream, gazing into the forbidden zone from the boat.
Astral Anura rushed out of the forbidden zone, kicking Bao Qi who was at the entrance, while shouting, "Off you go!"
Bao Qi turned around, but all he could see was Astral Anura’s webbed foot right before it struck the man in the face.
Bao Qi flew out of the old man’s sight.
The Seraph stared into the forbidden zone, stunned. A toad?
"Great-grandma, don’t follow me!" Astral Anura shouted. There were tears in his voice, despite his grin. A steel fork was in his hands as he thrust it at the old man.
The old man pointed his golden pen forward, and it clashed with the steel fork. Astral Anura’s weapon turned gold, and the color spread towards the toad, startling the creature. His eyes grew clear, and he looked at his opponent for a moment before noticing the approaching Lightstream, as well as Lu Yin, who was standing on the boat.
Oh no, it’s that ruthless guy!
Astral Anura had no idea what was happening in the Mirari Realm. He dropped his steel fork and grabbed a copper coin that he hurled at the old man.
Both were Dukkhans, but the old man was much stronger than Astral Anura. He easily knocked the coin away with his golden pen, and Astral Anura stared on in shock. When had such a powerful person appeared?
"Toad, grab him for me, or I’ll peel your skin!" Lu Yin shouted.
Astral Anura’s eyes flared. Were the humans not all on the same side? Only an idiot would grab the old man.
The toad felt threatened by the old man, and he turned and fled without any hesitation.
At this moment, Lightstream arrived at the entrance to the forbidden zone, and Lu Yin moved forward with Inverse Step, attacking Bao Qi with a palm strike.
The Seraph spat blood onto his Cauldron Bell and used both hands to strike it. The bell rang out, and the silent power seeped into its surroundings.
Progenitor Ku’s body withered as he charged straight into the field of silent power. His body was visibly recovering as he moved closer to Bao Qi.
Golden light fell down as the Investiture of the Gods pursued the old man.
Chu Yi brought out his Pillar of Heaven and slammed it down.
The old man gritted his teeth. Escape was impossible. Astral Anura had kicked Bao Qi closer to Lu Yin, and the Seraph was too far away from the forbidden zone for the old man to save him.
Damned toad!
The old man turned to enter the forbidden zone.
Chu Yi and Lu Yuan both immediately stopped. The Mirari Realm’s forbidden zones were extremely dangerous. Their master had warned them about these regions multiple times, and the two men simply watched as the Seraph fled.
As for Bao Qi, he was being restrained by Progenitor Chen and Progenitor Ku.
