Chapter 3361: Using

Wei Rong said, "Don’t the people from the Spirit Nidus need to spend time here in our Tianyuan Megaverse in order to construct a springboard?"

Wang Wen nodded. "That’s the only possibility. The Spirit Nidus must have given them a set timeframe. If the springboard isn’t finished by then, they'll send more and more reinforcements over. It’s also possible that there’s a connection between springboards, like a vibrational resonance."

Wei Rong thought for a moment. "That seems like the only possible explanation."

He then looked at Lu Yin. "Dao Monarch, we need to confirm this."

Lu Yin disappeared. He next appeared in the prison of death energy, in front of Palace Master Yao.

The woman was startled by Lu Yin’s sudden appearance.

"What’s the signal for your reinforcements?" Lu Yin demanded.

Her eyes flickered as she stared at Lu Yin, who met her gaze with a frigid expression.

After a brief pause, she quietly replied, "Building a springboard."

"Who can do that?"

"The Seraphs."

"Can any of the three Seraphs here build it?"

"Yes."

"You can't?" Lu Yin stared at Palace Master Yao for a moment before adding, "If I find out that you're lying, you'll die next."

She shook her head. "I can't. In the Spirit Nidus, the Seven Seraphs have a unique status, and even I, despite being ranked directly beneath them, am no exception. There are some matters that only the Seraphs know."

Lu Yin stared intently at Palace Master Yao for a long time before leaving. He was convinced that she had not lied.

Tian Ci’s execution had impacted the prisoners greatly. It was not the fact that Tian Ci himself had died, but rather the realization that they could actually be killed. The constant dance on the line between life and death left Palace Master Yao afraid to lie, despite her status.

But if she was willing to reveal her secrets, she would eventually have none left.

"What do you know about Meng Sang?" Lu Yin asked. Both the round-faced old man and Bao Qi had escaped and most likely would not reappear. Given his severe injuries, Meng Sang might be easier to track down.

Even so, easier was only a relative term.

Palace Master Yao shared everything she knew concerning Meng Sang. Lu Yin frowned as he listened. None of this information was particularly valuable, but that was only to be expected. How could a Seraph be fully understood by those weaker than them?

While the Spirit Nidus had a unified cultivation system, that did not mean that there were no internal conflicts in the megaverse. In fact, due to the rigid distribution of resources, their struggles were even fiercer.

After speaking with Palace Master Yao, Lu Yin moved on to Yuan Qi. "Tell me about Meng Sang. How can I find him?"

Yuan Qi was taken aback. "You want to find Meng Sang?"

"If possible, I’d also be happy to find Bao Qi or the other Seraph," Lu Yin replied.

After a bit of thought, Yuan Qi replied, “It would be easier to find Meng Sang. Just enter a dream, and you’ll be able to find him. Meng Sang’s cultivation method is unique, as he essentially has his own world—the dream realm. If you create a big enough disturbance in the dream realm, he’ll notice you. However, it’s almost impossible to find his actual body.”

A big enough disturbance? Lu Yin left the prison and returned to the mountain behind the Heavens Sect.

A few days later, the Heavens Sect issued an order: everyone had to sleep.

No matter if they were an ordinary human or a cultivator, everyone in a civilization connected to the universe as a whole could receive orders from the Heavens Sect. This time, everyone was required to sleep.

The order reminded everyone of the earlier order to avoid sleep.

Regardless of how strange the order was, Lu Yin’s orders were law, which meant that everyone found a way to sleep at the specified time.

Making everyone in a universe sleep at the same time would cause a colossal disturbance in the dream realm.

Given the unique cycles and rotations of each planet, each one had a different sleep cycle. But in addition to that, even people on the same planet slept at staggered times. But when everyone slept at the same time, Meng Sang would feel the disturbance as if it was a massive wake-up call. He would know that something big was happening.

That would allow Lu Yin to locate the Seraph.

In a remote corner of the Tianyuan Megaverse, Meng Sang’s eyes suddenly snapped open.

What’s going on? So many people falling asleep… The Seraph’s eyes narrowed. Someone was searching for him, and there was only one person who could cause such an event.

Since you’re looking for me, let’s see what you want.

Meng Sang closed his eyes and entered the dream realm.

On the mountain behind the Heavens Sect, Lu Yin used the Dream Sutra to enter the dream realm.

There, he looked at the drifting bubbles around him. It was a truly miraculous place. These bubbles were actually individual dreams that he could access through the technique he had refined. This was essentially a world created from nothing.

Suddenly, Lu Yin had a thought. If dreams were capable of creating something from nothing, then could reality as he knew it also be the creation of some being’s technique? Could all that he knew be nothing more than a dream?

The less one understood the universe, the greater their imagination.

Looking around at the endless bubbles of dreams, Lu Yin raised a hand. “A thousand lifetimes within a dream ruptured. Tianyuan!”

The dream bubbles scattered, and the dream realm trembled. A figure abruptly appeared. Meng Sang had arrived.

“Are you looking for me?” Meng Sang asked in a deep voice.

Lu Yin lowered his hand. “In order to find you, I put the entire Tianyuan Megaverse to sleep.”

“You can’t kill me in this place. I can leave whenever I wish,” Meng Sang replied.

Lu Yin stared at the Seraph. “I sought you out just to tell you one thing: all of you have been deceived by the High Seraph.”

Meng Sang’s expression grew cold. “This was a waste of time.”

He turned to leave.

“Have you heard of the Lesser Spirit Megaverse?” Lu Yin asked.

Meng Sang showed no reaction, aside from his form continuing to slowly fade away.

“Yuan Qi is my prisoner,” Lu Yin continued.

Meng Sang immediately fully returned, and he stared at Lu Yin. “You captured… Yuan Qi?”

Lu Yin met Meng Sang’s gaze. "He’s the one who told me about the High Seraph’s secret. He bought his life with that piece of information."

"If the High Seraph has secrets, that is none of my concern."

"But it is relevant to this invasion, as well as reaching Immortality."

Meng Sang said nothing, and he simply stared at Lu Yin.

Lu Yin shared what Yuan Qi had learned about the Lesser Spirit Megaverse, but Meng Sang’s expression never flickered. "Ridiculous."

What Yuan Qi had shared was hard to believe, so Lu Yin was not at all surprised by Meng Sang’s reaction.

After all, Lu Yin had plenty of motivation to lie, but both he and Meng Sang acknowledged the other as an intelligent individual. Thus, concocting an outlandish story was meaningless. For this reason, a flicker of doubt appeared in Meng Sang’s mind.

“If the High Seraph truly had a megaverse that he could reset at any moment, why would he have waited for so long? He would have already become an Immortal.”

Lu Yin replied, “To begin with, the Lesser Spirit Megaverse has not matured enough to be reset yet. Secondly, it’s possible that the High Seraph himself is not ready. Reaching the Immortal realm is not as simple as resetting a megaverse.”

At that moment, a thought occurred to Lu Yin. Resetting a megaverse was the only path to Immortality, according to current understanding. This was held as true by both the Spirit Nidus and the Consciousness Megaverse. However, the omniverse had existed for countless eons, while humanity had existed for a relatively short period of time. In that case, what about before humanity existed?

Previous civilizations must have reached remarkable heights as well. Could they have also pursued the path of resetting megaverses to reach Immortality? If so, that could explain the lack of evidence for previous civilizations. However, then where were those Immortals? If they were actually immortal, then why were there none to be found?

Was Master Qing Cao the first human to become an Immortal? That was not likely. Throughout the existence of the omniverse, countless civilizations must have appeared. How many of those civilizations had pursued Immortality? How many had actually succeeded?

If Immortality was a genuine cultivation realm, then some beings must have reached that level, even if there were only a few. In that case, why had none ever been seen before?

Could it be that resetting a megaverse did not necessarily lead to Immortality?

Countless thoughts raced through Lu Yin’s mind. It was similar to when he had thought about karma and time. There were too many hidden secrets that were still waiting to be uncovered.

"If Yuan Qi was exiled, then he arrived here shortly after your megaverse’s first Heavens Sect was destroyed…"

Meng Sang answered coldly. He went on to point out how quickly the supposed Lesser Spirit Megaverse would have matured, which begged the question of why it had not been reset yet.

Seeing that Lu Yin had no answer, Meng Sang scoffed. “As for not being prepared, the High Seraph reached the cusp of Immortality long ago-”

"I’m curious about that as well," someone mentioned.

Meng Sang turned around in surprise. “Yuan Qi?”

Lu Yin remained calm. He had already known that it would be impossible for him to convince Meng Sang of anything on his own, so he had brought Yuan Qi into the dream realm to join the conversation. The old man’s task had been made clear: Yuan Qi had to convince Meng Sang, or he would die.

Yuan Qi was beyond furious at his conditions, but he was helpless to fight back.

After Tian Ci’s death, Lu Yin had become indifferent. Yuan Qi knew that, even if he died, Lu Yin would not be bothered in the least.

“It’s been a long time, Meng Sang,” Yuan Qi commented, evident emotion in his voice.

Meng Sang stared intently at Yuan Qi before shooting a glance at Lu Yin. “Did he really capture you?”

Yuan Qi shrugged, and then he replied in a bitter tone. “My Dao Bell shattered. I am no longer his match.”

Meng Sang glared at Yuan Qi. “So, you decided to help him against us?”

Yuan Qi shook his head. “I’m not helping him, but rather acting against the High Seraph. I was exiled simply because I learned about the existence of the Lesser Spirit Megaverse. If not for the unique protection that my status as a Seraph affords me, I would have been killed long ago. I wouldn’t have survived this long.”

“I don’t believe it. This doesn’t make any sense,” Meng Sang contested as he looked back at Lu Yin. “What about avenging your people? If you want me to believe that you genuinely want to ally with me, then is that how far the leader of the Tianyuan Megaverse is willing to bend?”

Lu Yin’s finger twitched. “I will kill you. The grudge between us will never be resolved. However, while killing you may be my responsibility, that won’t stop me from using you.”

“Using me?” Meng Sang sneered. “Are you seriously telling me to my face that you want to use me?”

Lu Yin sneered. “You have no other choice but to be used. Because you’re here, because you’re a Seraph, and because you want to become an Immortal. For all of those reasons, you will agree to be used by me.

“If I get the chance, there’s no doubt that I’ll kill you. And by the same token, if you ever get the chance, you’ll definitely kill me.”

Meng Sang’s eyes turned icy. Lu Yin was right. If the opportunity ever arose, Meng Sang would kill Lu Yin without hesitation. The young man was one of the few creatures who was capable of threatening Meng Sang within the dream realm.
