Chapter 672: Blood Light
Heaven's Destiny was another guild that had their base set up in Greendale City.
The distance between them and Star Falls City was somewhat equivalent to the distance between Skyland City and Star Falls City.
From that theory, almost everyone expected Heaven's Destiny would make a move as well to take a piece of the pie.
Yet not only did Heaven's Destiny refuse to take something seemingly guaranteed profit, but they even went ahead and made a post, declaring their neutrality.
West Side of the Star Falls City
Skyland City was situated on the East and was attacking from that side with the assistance of the monster waves, leaving the West Side kind of empty.
Now some might wonder why they didn't siege on the West Side then?
The answer to that question was even simpler. Despite Star Falls City's previous terrible status, their defenses weren't lacking in any way to destroy any players.
If it weren't for the monster waves being prioritized completely on the East Side, then the others wouldn't even think about sieging a city this early on.
Therefore, the West Side might have looked empty, but the defenses that were set up here were enough to quash any nefarious players.
And currently, one particular guild was overlooking things from a tall height.
"Commander Blood Light, why are we here?" One of the members wearing a guild emblem that represented Heaven's Destiny asked.
Blood Light was the Guild Commander responsible for the branch in Greendale City. It was also precisely his decision to announce neutrality publicly.
His decision naturally made quite a lot of members displeased, with them being labeled as cowardly and afraid of the Vanguard Guild.
Thus, it came to a point where even some of the members began to openly question his actions.
"If the city has indeed fallen, then the west side would be available for us to obtain." Blood Light commented.
"But if the city hadn't fallen despite a long time had passed, then it meant the Vanguard Guild was hiding another trump card all along. By then, we who declared neutrality would remain safe from their wrath as opposed to MIST and the other guilds." He continued, informing his members of the reason for his decision.
Previously, he withheld the information because he didn't want any leakage.
Who knows how many spies there were in his guild?
However, now that the situation had developed into so, Blood Light no longer needed to worry about the possibility of spies leaking the information.
With their declaration of neutrality publicized, anyone who tried to call Heaven's Destiny a liar would in fact be the liar themselves. After all, Blood Light wouldn't take any action unless it was one hundred percent certain that the Vanguard Guild had lost their base.
Sure enough, the members who finally became enlightened by Blood Light's genius plan of enabling them to retreat and advance in this troublesome matter realized their mistakes.
They all held a look of regret and guilt for doubting their Guild Commander.
And when some of them wanted to open their mouths to apologize, Blood Light cut them off in time.
"If you're feeling apologetic, then keep that to yourself and demonstrate with your actions." Blood Light declared solemnly. He had no qualms or anger toward their doubtful and skeptical behavior. After all, there was a reason why he held the rank of a Guild Commander whereas they only held an inferior rank.
Aside from the factor of being powerful in the Divine World, the other main factor required a brain. A brain that was capable of navigating complex situations from out of nowhere in a heartbeat.
While he made his declaration and riled the Heaven's Destiny members up, Blood Light paid attention to multiple streams.
'MIST PotionHoarder finally made his advance. He's a commander but his emotion is too hasty.' Nevertheless, Blood Light was appreciative of PotionHoarder for spearheading the motion on his behalf.
It was also a fortunate event that Vanguard Guild Lunar Wraith had decided to commence a massacre at Skyland City rather than Greendale City.
Schemes and plotting were indeed very useful, but in front of a monstrous player like Lunar Wraith, all were meaningless.
The mere presence of Lunar Wraith was what contributed the most to him playing so passively and wary.
"The Vanguard Guild having someone like Lunar Wraith is truly their blessing." Blood Light murmured, feeling quite jealous.
Who didn't want a competent member in their guild capable of inducing fear and pressure by themselves?
As Blood Light paid heavy attention to the situation, back at Star Falls City, Xu Feng was already prepared to receive the guests.
"Um, Eclipse Nova, are we really not going to gather our guild members to fight?" Veronica raised the question, clearly unsure of his decision. Had she been aware that the person she asked was Xu Feng, then she wouldn't even have questioned it in the first place.
For Xu Feng who had proven himself multiple times, she had developed a lot of trust in him as opposed to Eclipse Nova, who remained a stranger.
"No need, just tell the guild members to be on standby for clean up and to be ready to pick up loot. I don't want our loot to be stolen by some other third party." Xu Feng continued to use his alternate tone and command, shocking Veronica in the process.
Meanwhile, Carmen found the behavior to be quite familiar yet unfamiliar at the same time. In one way or another, she noticed the similarity between Eclipse Nova and Xu Feng, but at the same time, there was a massive difference.
'Is this what they call mentee and mentor being alike?' Carmen wondered silently. Given the oddity of the situation, she came to an understanding that Xu Feng must have been heavily influenced by Eclipse Nova to behave in such a manner.
Nevertheless, she nodded and proceeded with the order.
"Okay, I'll have the members to be on standby. And shall we have OneManMedia live stream the event?" Carmen inquired.
