Neither Su Jin nor the others had expected that while helping Guo Yang select a shop, they would run into Liang Jiuhui.

Having just arrived at the villa district today, Liang Jiuhui saw a group of people walking along the roadside, stopping intermittently as if they were observing something or searching for something. Upon closer inspection, it was Su Jin and Lu Hao.

He had the driver stop, and he walked over to the group.

“Missy Missy, the future emperor is about to arrive!” Nie Qing whispered in Su Jin’s ear.

“…”

Well, the term “future emperor” might be a bit of an exaggeration, but it wasn’t entirely incorrect in its description.

After greeting them, Liang Jiuhui was slightly surprised to learn they were out looking for a shop that day. Was everybody really involved in helping Guo Yang set up his shop?

This group really was… full of love.

“May we also participate in the construction of the base?” Lin Cheng tentatively asked.

He had discussed with his family the previous night and if there was an opportunity, he too wanted to participate in the construction of the base. Firstly, it would allow him to practice his Earth Element Ability, and secondly, it would contribute to the base where they would eventually be staying. Besides him, Mao Zhihang also wanted to take part, being a Metal Element Ability User. It would be great if, during the construction process, he could interact and spar with other Metal Element Ability Users.

Besides, they could even receive Crystal Cores daily. Although these Crystal Cores weren’t much, they were better than nothing.

Su Jin also supported their decision. They should contribute to the construction of the base as well, and since it was beneficial for both parties, it was indeed a good thing.

“Of course, you can. You’re most welcome! I’ll inform the people below, and you can report there anytime,” Liang Jiuhui responded.

He hadn’t expected Su Jin’s family to also get involved, which reassured him even more. Su Jin and Lu Hao and their team were indeed planning to settle permanently at the S City base. Moreover, he hadn’t anticipated that Su Jin’s team would have both Earth and Metal elements within it.

This made Liang Jiuhui extremely happy throughout the day until, in the evening, the last batch of Special Ability Users relocating to the villa district arrived, and Liang Jiuqing barged into Liang Jiuhui’s door.

“Brother! Where are we staying tonight?”

Liang Jiuqing’s loud voice turned heads around them, making people wonder if this was really Liang Jiuhui’s sister as she didn’t look as daunting as rumored.

In fact, these days, due to Liang Wei and Liang Jiuhui, Liang Jiuqing hadn’t left the refuge for many days, which made her complexion noticeably fairer, though she herself was oblivious to it.

“Knock again,” Liang Jiuhui said without looking up.

“Oh…”

Liang Jiuqing pouted, knocked again, and only after receiving Liang Jiuhui’s permission did she enter.

“Dear brother, where are we staying tonight?” Liang Jiuqing asked again, more “politely” this time.

Liang Jiuhui was looking at the villa district’s floor plan, where each house was marked with letters and numbers, and the one for Su Jin and Lu Hao had been specially marked by the staff.

E12, huh?

“Let’s stay here,” Liang Jiuhui pointed to a location and suggested.

“Ah? Why not stay next to Su Jin and Lu Hao?”

Liang Jiuqing thought her brother would definitely choose a spot next to Su Jin and Lu Hao, but to her surprise, he chose a different row.

“Look closely. Although these two places are not in the same row, if you walk down this small path, it actually just takes a few minutes,” Liang Jiuhui continued explaining, seeing the puzzled look on his sister’s face. “If we live too close, people might misunderstand our intentions and feel uncomfortable.”

Liang Jiuqing finally understood. It made sense, after all, living next door might make people feel uneasy given his father and older brother’s current positions. Moreover, the location Liang Jiuhui had chosen wasn’t too far from Su Jin and the others.

Seeing Liang Jiuqing had left, Liang Jiuhui finally breathed a sigh of relief. He indeed wanted to live next to that group, but, with his and his father’s current situation, making friends wasn’t an easy task…

After exchanging pleasantries with Liang Jiuhui, Su Jin and her group spent half a day inspecting the villa area and finally decided on the shop location, right around the corner from the row behind them.

Not only was this within Mao Qiqi’s surveillance range, but it was also a place where foot traffic would be relatively high. It would be suitable both from a security and a customer flow perspective.

They also planned to report to the villa area’s management personnel the next day.

After returning home and seeing the increasingly crowded villa area, Su Jin pulled the blackout curtains even tighter. She wanted to look in the Space for some window paper, preferably the kind that prevented people from seeing inside from the outside.

“Don’t worry”

Lu Hao rubbed Su Jin’s head. His little wife always felt so insecure, which was really his fault.

“I…”

Although Su Jin initially wanted to object, she ultimately didn’t say anything. It seemed she might have been worrying too much.

“I will protect you, and your little secrets,”

Lu Hao whispered into Su Jin’s ear.

Su Jin felt ticklish with Lu Hao’s breath, but she also knew that he was comforting her. He could even guess what she was worried about—worthy of the discerning Captain Lu.

Having someone so comforting and understanding made Su Jin feel gradually more at ease. She smiled at Lu Hao, then tiptoed to pat the top of his head, their interaction instantly aching the hearts of the passing Xue Wanyi and Guo Yang.

“Cough cough, Lu Hao, do you think Liang Jiuhui will live next to us?” Guo Yang had been pondering this question since his encounter with Liang Jiuhui earlier.

If he lived next door, that would be a bit inconvenient.

“No,” replied Lu Hao.

“Why?” the three asked in unison.

“Isn’t it obvious? Emperors don’t live with commoners, and even servants wouldn’t stay with them,” Nie Qing said, appearing from nowhere as he walked down the stairs.

Lu Hao nodded. He believed Liang Jiuhui definitely wouldn’t live next to them, but he wouldn’t be too far away either.

Just then, Yin Chengtian ran in from the yard. He had just been using his Wood Element Ability to accelerate the growth of tomatoes when the plant suddenly started to bloom!

Su Jin followed him to the garden, where she saw that the vegetables in the small garden had grown significantly, and a tomato plant there had also sprouted a few small yellow flowers on one of its side branches.

“Well done. You should be able to use your Special Ability to materialize things by now, right?” Su Jin asked.

“Yeah, but it’s still too small,” Yin Chengtian replied, producing a tiny pale yellow sprout in his palm—it was indeed very small, no longer than a pinky finger.

Su Jin nodded and said, “Keep practicing; don’t rush it. The foundations of the Wood Element are crucial. Remember this guideline: roots lead to stems, stems lead to leaves, the root and stem are interconnected, all complementing each other.”

Yin Chengtian nodded like a pecking chick. After Su Jin left, he kept muttering the phrase she had told him, so much so that he even talked about it in his sleep.

After seeing the flowers Yin Chengtian had stimulated, Su Jin suddenly remembered the rose flower seeds she had bought the same time she bought the Venus Flytrap.

Perhaps, it was time to make use of those seeds.
