Rakish Little Immortal Doctor
Chapter 837 - 837: The Location of the Mountain Gate“Fine, since they’ve already seen it, letting them look a bit longer won’t make much of a difference.”
“Anyway, I’m a man, nothing to be afraid of.”
Li Qianfan continued to stand openly, completely unbothered by Zhou Zitong staring at his lower body.
“My sister and I talked it over. We’re willing to help and go with you to the Tianhua Sect, but you must agree to three conditions,” Li Qianfan said.
“Let’s hear them,” Zhou Zitong replied.
“First, you have to guarantee our safety,” Li Qianfan said.
“No problem,” Zhou Zitong nodded enthusiastically.
“Second, I cannot guarantee that I’ll be able to help your Tianhua Sect solve your problem. After all, the contagious disease you mentioned—I still don’t even know what kind of virus it is. Whether I can resolve it or not, I’ll only know once we get there. If I end up unable to help, you can’t blame me,” Li Qianfan said seriously.
“That’s a very reasonable request,” Zhou Zitong said.
“Lastly, my sister and I must stay together when we arrive at the Tianhua Sect. We can’t be separated,” Li Qianfan added.
Zhou Zitong chuckled, “You siblings sure are close.”
“Cut the sarcasm. We’re doing this for our own safety. The Tianhua Sect is an entirely unfamiliar place for us, with so many cultivators around. Of course, we can’t split up,” Li Qianfan said grumpily.
“Alright, alright, no problem. None of these conditions are too much. I agree,” Zhou Zitong said.
“Good. If there’s nothing else, when do we depart?” Li Qianfan asked.
“Now.”
Zhou Zitong answered flatly.
Li Qianfan and Liu Ruyan quickly packed up their things and followed Zhou Zitong and her companions out.
As soon as they exited the hotel, Li Qianfan and Liu Ruyan saw two cars parked by the entrance.
“Please get in,” Zhou Zitong said.
“You sure came prepared,” Li Qianfan remarked.
“Of course!” Zhou Zitong said with a laugh.
Liu Ruyan and Li Qianfan got into the first car, driven by Zhou Zitong, while the other two female cultivators entered the second car.
The engine roared to life as the cars started moving. Li Qianfan and Liu Ruyan pretended to admire Dadong City’s night scenery through the window but were actually memorizing the route.
“How far is the Tianhua Sect from Dadong City?” Li Qianfan asked.
“Not far,” Zhou Zitong replied.
“Define ‘not far,'” Li Qianfan pressed.
With a smile, Zhou Zitong said, “Mr. Li, can you stop prying? We can’t reveal the location of our sect’s mountain gate to outsiders.”
“Still don’t trust us, huh,” Li Qianfan muttered, sounding regretful.
“Oh, like you completely trust us,” Zhou Zitong teased.
Li Qianfan fell silent.
Zhou Zitong didn’t bother taking any detours. After about half an hour, the car had exited downtown Dadong City and reached the outskirts.
“From here on, you’ll need to cover your eyes,” Zhou Zitong said, stopping the car and pulling out two thick black cloths.
“Is that really necessary?” Li Qianfan asked, feigning a tone of complaint.
“It’s absolutely necessary,” Zhou Zitong said sternly.
Liu Ruyan frowned. “If we don’t blindfold ourselves, you won’t take us to the Tianhua Sect?”
“There’s no other option; the Tianhua Sect is a secretive sect,” Zhou Zitong explained.
Seeing no room for negotiation, Li Qianfan and Liu Ruyan reluctantly took the black cloths from Zhou Zitong’s hands.
But Zhou Zitong immediately got out of the car, opened the back door, and said, “Let me do it for you.”
“You’re really this cautious, huh,” Li Qianfan said.
“Better safe than sorry,” Zhou Zitong quipped.
Before her words had even fully left her mouth, Zhou Zitong grabbed the black cloth from Li Qianfan’s hands and securely tied it around his head, wrapping it several times over.
Not only did it cover Li Qianfan’s eyes, but even his nose was obscured, leaving only his mouth exposed.
“Your turn, Ms. Li,” Zhou Zitong said.
“Whatever,” Liu Ruyan replied.
Zhou Zitong took another black cloth and tied it tightly around Liu Ruyan’s face, ensuring her eyes were completely covered as well.
Only after confirming everything was in order did Zhou Zitong nod in satisfaction.
“It’ll be another half hour at most. Bear with it,” Zhou Zitong said.
“Hurry up and drive, stop babbling. This is really uncomfortable,” Li Qianfan grumbled.
Zhou Zitong returned to the driver’s seat and re-started the car.
The vehicle jolted and swayed as it moved forward. Sitting in the back, Li Qianfan and Liu Ruyan communicated through Divine Thought Transmission.
“What now? We can’t see the road. Even if we reach the Tianhua Sect, we won’t know its location,” Li Qianfan said.
“Try using Divine Thought,” Liu Ruyan suggested through the transmission.
Both released their Divine Thoughts simultaneously.
However, Divine Thought couldn’t replace vision. Its effective range was only about five meters, beyond which it became incredibly blurry.
Furthermore, with the car in motion, it was taxing for them to use their Divine Thoughts to sense the surroundings outside the car. They gave up after less than half a minute, retracting their Divine Thoughts in exhaustion.
“Forget it. We’ll figure it out after we arrive at the Tianhua Sect. It’s definitely somewhere near Dadong City, that much is certain,” Liu Ruyan said via Divine Thought.
“Guess we don’t have a choice,” Li Qianfan replied through Divine Thought Transmission.
At last, the half hour passed.
The car came to a gradual stop, and the sound of the door opening reached Li Qianfan and Liu Ruyan’s ears.
“We’re here. You can take off the blindfolds now,” Zhou Zitong announced.
Li Qianfan and Liu Ruyan immediately removed the black cloths from their faces and got out of the car, surveying their surroundings.
They found themselves in what looked like a small mountain village, surrounded by lush green forests. Exquisitely crafted wooden cottages were scattered throughout the trees, creating an enchanting scene.
There were no asphalt or concrete roads here, only dirt paths.
Yet these paths didn’t look unattractive. With grass growing over the dirt, they had a poetic charm to them.
In the distance were rolling hills and small, gently sloping mountains.
After glancing around, Liu Ruyan said, “Is this a valley within Dongming Mountain?”
Dongming Mountain was a mountain adjacent to Dadong City.
Though it was called a mountain, Dongming Mountain’s peak was only about 800 meters tall. However, its vast range extended for hundreds of kilometers, interwoven with connected hills.
The terrain within Dongming Mountain was incredibly complex, full of undulating hills, ridges, and secluded valleys.
