My SSS-Rank Class Is Blood Monarch!

Chapter 395 - 395- God’s Gate (Part 32)

“Why… you ask? Hmm, well, it is very simple isn’t it?” Nameless smiled widely as he stared at the pale boy. He was still in that euphoric state ever since he revealed the reality of the situation. In fact, in his head, Nameless couldn’t stop himself from shaking out of pure excitement.

After all, nothing could’ve prepared him for the perfect person to knock on his door at the right time. Indeed, Arthur was the exact person he was looking for. Someone strong, talented, and smart, so that the process he was about to start would go as simply as possible.

“My goal is pretty simple, Persona.” Ignoring the boy’s dumbfounded look, Nameless continued speaking casually. “I want to break those chains and release the abomination of a God lurking in that darkness.”

“… Wait, what?!” As if he had been struck by lightning, Arthur snapped out of his daze and looked at the masked man with wide eyes. “What the hell do you mean release that God? Are you insane?!”

Even when he was trying to stay calm, Arthur found himself raising his voice in perturbation. The image of horror he had just witnessed and those noises he heard were still echoing in his mind like a horrible memory he can’t forget. It was an image that he will never forget for the rest of his life. A haunting nightmare he can only suppress and yet never forget.

Nothing had struck him that hard, not even the giant underwater monster he saw not that long ago. This mere flash of an image of a creature seemingly stuck in eternal darkness had given him enough fear to never even want to think about it again, let alone release it into the world.

“Insane? No, no, no, boy. I am but a humble man ready to take the world to the next step. This world had been far too bland, stale, and boring ever since the wars ended and the age of blood passed. People became soft… weak, and too comfortable with their current positions. They thought peace would last forever and forgot what this world is all about.”

“…”

“It’s a world of destruction, born out of destruction, and destruction is where it’s going. All this peace, all this… weakness, it can’t do.”

“So all you’re looking for is the death of innocent people?” Standing up, Arthur glared coldly at the masked man. His words were grandiose and vague, but the boy understood what the man was hinting at.

“Death? Hmm, I wouldn’t say death. Rather, it’s the elimination of all that is weak. True believers like me would agree with my goal, and yet I was chosen to be the one to do such a huge task. This honor must be met with success and nothing other than success.”

“You…”

“Oh, man, I have been waiting for this moment my entire life. The final stretch is here, and I’m so close to achieving it.” Taking a deep breath as if he was trying to calm his nerves, Nameless looked down at Arthur with a smile as he spoke. “Well, as I was saying. What I want to do is release the corrupted God, and to do that… Sacrifices must be made so that the corrupt God can feed, grow, and finally be able to break these chains.”

Arthur frowned visibly. ‘Sacrifices? What do he-‘ Then, like a lightning, it struck him and made him halt his thoughts. Slowly, he looked up at the man. His aura started slowly leaking again.

“Sacrifices? That means…”

“Yes, the good people you brought to me are going to be sacrificed for the good cause of my goal. Their bodies will be given to the true purpose of this world. Isn’t that beautiful? Isn’t it truly something of wonders?”

“Stop…” Arthur’s body started shaking visibly as he clenched his fists. With each passing second, all the confusing things he experienced so far started making sense, as if the puzzle’s final pieces were being put together before his eyes.

“So far, the sacrifices made have been quite fruitful. The chains are getting strained as the God is trying to break through and emerge. They’re quite hungry, you know? Sacrifice after sacrifice, they didn’t have enough.”

“Stop…”

“The black creatures it spits out as waste have been quite useful, though. With some proper ‘training’, they become almost like faithful servants who do whatever you ask them to do. They were quite good at hunting down the required number of people I needed.”

“I said stop!!!”

*Swish*

Like a flash of lightning, Arthur launched out of his spot at enormous speed, reaching the man in a split second. His face was contorted with rage as he swung his sword, creating a large arc of ice that immediately dropped the entire temperature of the place several degrees.

*BOOOOOOOOM*

The ice shattered upon impact as the bits flew everywhere, getting swept by the immense shockwave from the hit. An enormous amount of mana spread everywhere around the two.

“No, no, no, can’t do, sir. We have agreed not to fight.”

“Shut the fuck up!!!”

*Swish*

Even when his attack was stopped with ease, Arthur didn’t stop there as he swung his sword a dozen times in less than a second. He attacked the man from every angle, moving with Exo-Burst everywhere. His attacks targeted all the vital spots and the blind spots he could find in Nameless’ body.

Yet, every attack, with no exception, was deflected with ease. The man was simply way faster and way stronger. Using one hand, he moved it everywhere in the blink of an eye, stopping the ruthless assault as if he were dealing with an annoying bug.

“Why are you doing this, Persona? Is it because you feel angry that many people were sacrificed for the God to awaken?” Amidst the battle, Nameless asked with a wide grin. His eyes were easily following Arthur around, moving as fast as he was.

“Shut up!!!”

“That anger. For what, boy? The death of these people is nothing but the greater cause executing its divine power. People are, in the end, pawns in the grand scheme of fate, playing as it wishes. Some die, some live, some find happiness, and some are cursed with despair for eternity. So, if someone dies for a cause that could change the world, for what would that be a bad death?”

*BANG*

As the two clashed, their eyes made contact. One was filled with endless rage, and the other was filled with endless amusement.

“It is but the reality of things. It seems you haven’t realized that yet, Persona.”

*Swish*

Jumping back, Arthur landed on his feet and glared at the man, breathing audibly. His heart was beating loudly, and his head was feeling hot. Nothing could’ve prepared him for this revelation.

‘All those people… innocent people… They all died for this freak’s desire! They were turned into monsters just because he decided to kill them! Unforgivable!! Unforgivable!!’

The image of those eyes filled with despair, clamped into that giant black flesh and those limbs loosely attached to them, it almost made Arthur want to throw up. To think that these monsters were just innocent people fed to a monstrous God. He was so disgusted.

“Who…”

“Hm?”

“Who… Who gave you the right to decide who lives and who dies, you fucking freak?!!!”
