MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith
Chapter 1523 - 1523: The Power of More Copies (2)“…Is this the last batch?”
Ttang! Ttang! Ttang!
Under the incessant hammering of Valyr’s translucent copies, Ataraxia looked at his original identity on the side, his eyes closed in deep contemplation.
“It is.” Opening his eyes in response, the young man looked back at his other self and nodded, only to then shift his attention towards the six copies that were working on the last six pieces of equipment needed to complete the last forging quota.
Ttang! Ttang! Ttang!
Watching the six copies work in silence, the gears in Valyr’s mind began to turn as he briefly thought back to the idea he came up with a couple days ago about having a copy man the furnace instead of him.
Feeling like he could expand that train of thought to encompass the entire forging process, the young man spent most of time formulating new sets of instructions for the other areas of the forging process he had yet to tackle.
Nevertheless, even with those sets of instructions still incomplete, he was confident that once he could make the copies that covered the remaining parts of the forging process, he would basically have a production line in his hands.
“To think this is the way I’d stumble upon making a production line,” murmured the young man to himself at the thought, letting out a wry chuckle soon after as the current scene was a stark contrast to his first production line in the past.
Unlike the great ease he felt while making the production line using programmable copies of himself, Valyr recalled that he had to create the same thing the hard way in his past life, toiling for a long time just to set up the foundations of the production line.
Then, slowly working his way up through the various ages of technology, the young man eventually gained access to technologies of the Digital Age, finally allowing his production line to be truly complete.
“…I wonder how Ryvrthe and the others are doing?” Reminiscing over the past where he had to build the infrastructure for advanced technology from scratch, Valyr could not help but remember the conversation he had with the man on their plans of doing just that.
Though, before he could dwell on the thought for just a bit longer, the processed materials for the six remaining weapons were dropped off by the designated copy, forcing the young man to push his current thoughts to the side as he soon finished the final forging quota.
…
“…I’m surprised it took you almost a week to complete five of the forging quotas.”
After forging the final weapon needed to complete the last quota, Valyr went ahead and sent a message to Julian before he and Ataraxia made their way to a nearby restaurant.
Informing the man that they were heading there to get some food, the two were briefly stunned once they saw Julian appear beside them just as they were about to enter the restaurant.
Although they weren’t expecting the man to accompany them on their meals, the two weren’t against the thought, enjoying a set of hearty meals with Julian as the three of them talked about various topics before eventually heading back to the guild.
“What if I told you I spent most of that time actually not doing anything?” Listening to Julian’s words, Valyr glanced at the man with a slight grin as he asked him a question.
“Really?” Julian looked back at him with slight shock. “Did you actually spend most of the past week taking a slight breather as I’ve mentioned?”
“Yes… but also no,” replied the young man, tilting his head from side to side as the three of them neared their workshop. “If I were to try and accurately describe it, then I spent the past week optimizing the way I forged equipment to put less stress on me.”
“Is that so?” Pondering over Valyr’s words for a bit, Julian soon nodded in understanding. “I guess that makes sense. After all, you have so many arms working together to forge equipment. It would’ve been more surprising if it didn’t take that much of a toll on you.”
“And that’s why I changed the way I forged equipment altogether,” said the young man in response, inwardly eager to see the man’s reaction to the copies as the three of them soon stood before the workshop.
Ttang! Ttang! Ttang!
“Hmm…?” Hearing the sounds of hammering echoing from Valyr’s workshop just as they arrived, Julian initially thought that someone else had occupied the former’s workshop while he was away.
Though, just as he was about to kindly ask the person that unintentionally occupied the workshop to leave the premises, the man instead stood frozen in place as he took in the sight in front of him.
Ttang! Ttang! Ttang!
Rather than be greeted by the sight of one person working on an anvil, Julian was instead greeted by twelve translucent copies of the young man working on their own respective anvils, hammering away on what looked to be materials used to forge equipment.
“This…” Taking a long while to regain his bearings, Julian eventually looked back at Valyr in shock, who could only look back at him with a smile.
“Quite the change, no?” asked the young man with a slight chuckle as he and Ataraxia went deeper into the workshop.
Although he still felt great shock from the sight before him, the immense curiosity he had towards how everything worked preceded it, prompting him to follow after the two as he watched Valyr’s copies work from another angle.
Once there, he soon took note of two more copies delivering materials between the copies that were hammering, one sending still glowing materials to the copies, while the other brought the processed materials to a designated spot.
“…If we exclude the time you spent not doing anything, how long did it actually take you to finish the five quotas?” Taking in a deep breath, Julian glanced at Valyr for a bit before asking this question.
“Close to a day and a half, give or take,” responded the latter with slight indifference, which only made the man feel even greater shock as he took in the sight before him once more.
Eventually, after watching Valyr’s copies work on other materials for a bit more, the man looked back at the young man before asking him a question.
“Say, Valyr…”
“Could you be interested in an opportunity to work alongside Byron?”
