MMORPG: Rise of the Primordial Godsmith

Chapter 1518 - 1518: But It Could Be Better

“…And last but not the least, these are the following rewards the rightful champion shall receive from the Myriad Prodigies Tournament.”

Pausing for a brief moment to give his next words a bit of suspense, Schubert subtly glanced at Valyr with admiration in his eyes before proceeding to list down the young man’s rewards.

“First off, the tournament shall reward the champion with 50 platinum cards, as well as the nobility title of an Royal Viscount, which shall be fully recognized by the entire territory of the Meltierre Empire.”

Hearing those words, a decent number of people from the crowd let out surprised gasps, not expecting the jump in rewards between the champion and those from the top 4 to be that drastic.

Feigning ignorance towards their shocked reactions, the announcer continued. “The tournament shall also reward the champion with a 50 square kilometer plot of land of their choosing, provided that it is within the territory under the kingdom.”

“The kingdom shall also aid the champion in transforming this plot of land into whatever purpose they have in mind, whether it is to form a new town, a fortress, or anything else of the sort.”

“However, the champion can also choose to forgo this reward in exchange for full ownership over three towns under the kingdom’s jurisdiction,” the man said after that, briefly leaving Valyr and everyone else at a loss for words.

“According to the information given to me, the tax that these towns pay to the kingdom shall be offered up mostly to the champion instead. Though, the kingdom shall still be taking a small cut out of it.”

‘…Huh?’ At this point, the young man could not help but take full notice of the rewards given to him, especially since it was far better than the ones given to those that ended up on the top 4.

Although he expected the monetary and nobility reward attached to becoming a champion to be drastically improved, the fact that the kingdom was actively offering to either help out with his plot of land or give him ownership over three entire towns was entirely unexpected to him.

That was because the rewards the top 4 were given regarding plots of land were similar to those that came before them, only being a size far larger than the rest due to how high they were on the ranking.

There was no mention of the kingdom actively helping out with the transformation of their land whatsoever.

‘Is this the reward Lunarossa was talking about?’ asked Valyr to himself at that point, briefly glancing at Ataraxia from afar before making up his mind to send a message to the director once everything was said and done.

Though, just as he thought that the rewards given to him were far beyond what he expected, the words that left Schubert’s mouth soon after only escalated that thought even further.

“As for the rewards the champion would obtain from the Algerie Imperial Treasury…” The announcer narrowed his eyes at the tablet he was looking at for a bit before confirming that he had read correctly.

“It is said that the champion could either take three four-star treasures from the treasury… or one Royal-grade treasure under certain conditions.”

Hearing the term ‘Royal-grade treasure’ come out of Schubert’s mouth, a decent portion of the crowd stood up to look at the announcer with great incredulity, their eyes telling everyone else that the current situation had become incredibly absurd.

Of course, with the memories he had from his past life still intact, Valyr knew well what a Royal-grade treasure meant, causing his eyes to also widen in disbelief from the announcer’s words.

Yet, Schubert was still not done.

“Other than that, the Algerie Imperial clan shall also give the champion access to the Algerie Imperial Archives to select two skills of their choosing, as well as personalized tutelage from a master of their choosing with the Algerie Imperial Institute.”

“Last but not the least, His Royal Majesty has informed me that the champion can request any favor from the kingdom, provided that it would not harm the kingdom’s foundation, nor would it be beyond the kingdom’s means.”

“…”

“…”

By the time Schubert was done listing down all of the rewards Valyr would obtain from the tournament, almost the entire amphitheater had been stunned silent, with the soft yet raucous breaths of the crowd being the only noise that echoed throughout.

Yet, as if a fire had been lit all of a sudden, the crowd began to cheer for the young man once more, this time with a level of energy and loudness that far surpassed any round of applause they’ve given thus far.

At that point, it was only then did Valyr feel like the rewards that the announcer had been listing down… finally become real.

‘…I’m not hallucinating, aren’t I?’ Trying his best to remain composed, the young man glanced at his other identity from afar, sending a message through their shared thoughts.

‘…I’m as stunned as you are, honestly,’ replied Ataraxia without missing a beat, giving his original identity a wry smile. ‘You think it has something to do with Lunarossa?’

‘I honestly want to know too,’ answered Valyr in return, only to pause as he noticed Lunarossa appear in front of the large group.

‘On second thought…’

‘We might just have our answer very soon.’

“…And here I thought we’d have to lug around a ton of stuff the moment we got out of the tournament.”

Idly passing through the streets of Algerie Kingdom with their stealth skill enabled, Valyr and Ataraxia briefly talked about the portion of the tournament where Lunarossa gave each and every person in the top 128 their reward.

“Imagine if everyone in the ranking got all of their rewards from the get-go.” Ataraxia let out a slight chuckle. “Though most would be deterred by the fact that it was provided by the empire, some would probably still dare to snatch it from the others if the opportunity arose.”

“Yeah.” Valyr nodded in agreement. “I think that’s why she decided to only give out the monetary reward and the nobility titles to us for now.”

“Though, with us already being Imperial Barons, I suppose the ranks we got from the tournament are pretty much useless.”

“Can’t say the same for the money,” said Ataraxia with a slight grin. “With the current conversation rate, even the coins I got would already translate to over half a million Deltas.”

“And that’s not even including the rewards the alliance would get thanks to you affiliating with it.”

“…Seems like I’ve given you all the materials needed to build a foundation back on Earth, then,” replied Valyr with a chuckle, causing Ataraxia to let out a bit of laughter as well.

Talking about the other rewards they got from the tournament a bit more, the two eventually arrived at the Blacksmith Guild without anyone else knowing, allowing them to start making progress towards their first goal.
