Chapter 889: Chapter 871: The Goddess Descends!

When Rocky had almost used up all the mana in his armor to block the two palms, the mist above transformed into a gigantic fist, slamming into him and sending him crashing to the ground…

The gap was too great.

Without a doubt, even wearing the Third Generation Void Magic Armor, Rocky was completely powerless against the Great Demon. His so-called elemental attacks could at most fend off one of Yami’s clones, but when faced with Yami’s true form, which could envelop Mist Mountain, there was no resistance to be had.

After being hit by the punch and crashing to the ground, Rocky instantly lost consciousness. If he returned to Mist Mountain now, it would truly be a one-way trip to death. Previously, he had been able to rely on the White Demon Armor to maneuver against the high-level demons of Mist Mountain and even Yami to some extent. But now, in his desperate bid for escape, he had consumed most of the mana in his armor. Forget facing Yami again—he couldn’t even put up a fight against the high-level demons.

Yet at that critical moment, as Rocky kept plummeting, a burst of firelight suddenly appeared in the air, rushing into the mist and swiftly diving downward, intercepting Rocky just as he was about to hit the ground and pulling him back upward!

Liliya!

Upon receiving word about Rocky, Liliya had taken immediate action. She relinquished command of the War Steed to Karina and hurried to rescue Rocky, knowing full well that he was no match for the Great Demon. Her prediction had proved accurate—had she not arrived in time, Rocky would have been finished.

At this moment, Liliya was entirely engulfed in roaring flames, having activated the most powerful state of the Red Flame Goddess Armor.

Unlike the White Demon Armor, Liliya’s Red Flame Goddess Armor was on the same level in ranking, but its performance had been modified per Rocky’s repeated insistence to emphasize defense. Additionally, as one of the most cherished sets of armor alongside the White Demon Armor, the Red Flame Goddess Armor was engraved with elemental runes. However, it had only one elemental rune—the Fire Attribute Rune.

Under such circumstances, once all the fire attribute runes were activated, the armor would be entirely surrounded by flames, achieving its peak state.

To confront the Great Demon, Liliya naturally activated the armor’s most potent mode immediately. It was fortunate she did so, as the flames enveloping her body effectively countered Yami’s vulnerability to elemental damage. Otherwise, she might not have been able to save Rocky or even penetrate the mist.

After grabbing Rocky, Liliya accelerated without hesitation, soaring skyward instantly.

Just then, an enraged roar emerged from the mist, and the surrounding fog twisted as if alive, taking on various shapes. In an instant, it formed an army charging aggressively at Liliya.

But Liliya paid them no attention. Her goal was singular and clear: to escape the mist as quickly as possible. Facing attacks from all directions, she did only one thing—she continued channeling mana to activate the elemental runes on her armor, intensifying the surrounding flames.

Such intense flames threatened even Rocky, who was being dragged along by her. Fortunately, his White Demon Armor’s defensive power could withstand the heat for a while. At this moment, Liliya couldn’t afford to care about much else—getting Rocky out of there was worth a few scrapes if necessary.

Thanks to her decisive action, when her flames erupted fully, the mist army couldn’t even get close to her. They were reduced to ashes by the fire before they could touch her. In mere moments, Liliya had surged out of the mist with Rocky!

Breaking free from the mist was like emerging from the ocean; a rush of relief flooded over Liliya. Yet there was no time to relax—the fog that enveloped Mist Mountain was now spreading outward, threatening to engulf her and Rocky once again.

Under these circumstances, Liliya dared not pause for even a second. She immediately accelerated, and with no mist impeding her anymore, her speed finally surged. In the blink of an eye, she ascended several hundred meters, leaving the expanding mist behind. With the mist shaken off, Yami’s threat became significantly reduced.

“Karina, where are you? Rocky and I are out,”

Liliya checked the retreating mist below and finally felt a sense of relief. She then contacted Karina, who quickly relayed the location of the War Steed. It turned out they hadn’t returned directly to Mist Mountain City but were waiting at the outskirts of Mist Mountain to provide assistance.

Not long after, the group reunited, and Rocky gradually regained consciousness.

Seeing Rocky finally awake, everyone breathed a sigh of relief. Without wasting any time, they promptly headed back to Mist Mountain City.

“What do the Allied Forces plan to do?”

On the way back, Rocky, now awake, asked. The appearance of the Great Demon was undoubtedly a grave matter, and the Allied Forces had to take action.

“Marshal Mannstein has already dispatched all the main forces in the war zone to Mist Mountain, including five hundred elite Imperial Knight Order troops. It looks like they intend to annihilate the Great Demon in one decisive strike.”

“That’s good…”

Rocky nodded upon hearing this. He knew this was the wisest course of action. His discovery of Yami had been purely accidental, so if the Allied Forces could eliminate Yami with the advantage of surprise, it would be a tremendous victory. After all, if the Great Demon had time to prepare, killing it would become far more difficult.

“What’s your plan? Are you staying to help the Allied Forces fight the Great Demon?”

Turning to Rocky, Karina asked curiously.

“No. This is the Allied Forces’ matter. I’ll relay all the intel I’ve gathered about Yami to them. Whether they can destroy Yami or not is up to them—we should leave.”

Rocky had no intention of stirring up trouble with the Great Demon again. The harsh reality had shown that he was far from capable of confronting such a terrifying entity alone. All he could do was share any relevant intelligence about Yami with the Allied Forces. Whether they could use this information to injure or kill Yami was beyond his control.

“I’ll head over first.”

After sharing his thoughts with Karina, Rocky turned his attention to the far end of the deck where Liliya was. Ever since he’d woken up, she had been ignoring him, clearly angry. After quickly wrapping up his conversation with Karina, he went to Liliya to admit his mistake.

Once Rocky left, Karina gazed at the empty sky outside. With Mist Mountain behind them, the skies were completely clear, yet her heart felt clouded. The Great Demon had appeared so quickly—it seemed her decision to leave the Allied Forces had indeed been the right one…
