Chapter 1559: The Butterfly Princess

Wang Wei reached to hold her hand. "I’m sorry you’re going through this. I know it may not work, but do you want to talk to him?"

"Would you?" Wu Hong’s eyes became animated.

"Sure, but as I said, the chances of working are slim."

"I know that, but as long as the chances are not zero, I still have hope."

"Good. In that case, I’ll talk to Lie Peiqi after the assembly."

"Alright. Don’t try to convince him not to leave, but to let me help him."

"No problem," Wang Wei nodded. He extended the space in the lounging chair before snuggling with her, with Wang Wei being the big spoon.

"Has anything interesting happened?" Wu Hong asked.

"Many things," Wang Wei answered before telling her about his theory on destiny manifestation and the new Primals. He also mentioned his idea of diverting eyes from her continent.

"I’ve noticed this sudden luck manifestation," Wu Hong nodded, moving her body slightly to find a comfortable spot in his arm. "Your plan to create a flawed Primal is feasible."

"Oh? Any idea?"

"Our target should be the Limitless Exchange Hall. I can use the Nurture Core to create a talisman that allows one of their Peak Paragons to permanently fuse with their Primal Array."

"Is that possible?"

"Everything is about balance, so as long as there is a major flaw for taking such a shortcut, it’s theoretically possible."

"You talk as if you can control the flaw and even have already thought of it?"

"That’s because I have," Wu Hong replied. "The flaw will be his soul. He will need to constantly replenish his soul energy, and as time passes, the amount of energy required will increase exponentially."

"You want to drain the Limitless Exchange Hall of their resources?"

"Think about all the possible benefits if they have to spend most of their efforts to support one man?" Wu Hong asked.

"Their desperation would make it easier for them to ally with the Skill Path Association, but that’s just the tip of the iceberg," Wang Wei analyzed.

"Their future plan will be heavily focused on managing the situation. They will utilize the exchange list to the fullest to solve their issues, and if we can keep them in debt, they will only have a few solutions: find other factions to help or destroy the flawed Primals.

"However, destroying the Primals will mean destroying the array, reducing them to only one."

"For this plan to work, we’ll need to prevent them from cultivating another Primal," Wang Wei nodded. "It may be in our best interest to hurry up with this plan. The exchange list will be revealed soon, and the disaster is coming in less than 30,000 Yuan Epochs. How soon can you start executing this plan?"

"I can refine the talisman in about 5000 Yuan Epochs if you help me. However, it may take another 5000 yuan epoch to meticulously plan out a fortunate encounter for the hall without alarming them," Wu Hong revealed.

"You don’t have to worry about the second part," Wang Wei said as he summoned his chessboard to show her.

"Is this what you’ve been working on?" Wu Hong observed clearly. "The ability of this artifact to protect others from tracing karma to you is astonishing."

"Isn’t it? Samsara does have some unique things, and I must admit I did some of my best work for this thing," Wang Wei nodded. "By the way, how was your study of the Greater Samsara Genesis Stone?"

"That thing is marvelous, and you’ve underestimated its value," Wu Hong said with shining eyes.

"Oh?"

"Just the effect of the stone is amazing, especially when I pair it with the Nurture Core."

"Isn’t the stone used to train Ultimate Skill? You’re not telling me?"

"Yes, I’m on the verge of replicating its effect with a new formation," Wu Hong nodded.

"That’s excellent news," Wang Wei smiled. The ability to cultivate in large quantities people who have comprehended an Ultimate Skill is an ability that any faction would dream, no, kill, to have.

"That’s not even the best news," Wu Hong smiled. "You were right. The subtle aura of the stone is the power of Samsara Dao Quintessence — the fundamental origin of one of the Grand Constructs, the Six Paths of Samsara.

"By studying it, I’ve indeed improved my Samsara Runes and the others related to it. I’m also building another array that can help you create your own flawed Dao Quintessence."

Wang Wei kissed her cheek. "Have I told you how loving and giving you were?"

"I know, and believe me, you’ll have an eternity to repay me."

"I’ll gladly do it."

"Alright, no need to get too excited. The formation is not going well. One stone is not enough," Wu Hong reined in his excitement.

"Hmm, grandma is busy, so I doubt I can contact her. The stone was not available on the exchange list, but it should be once the last section is revealed."

"It’s probably going to be expensive," Wu Hong complained.

"Considering how thin the aura is and how few people could detect it, let alone utilize it, it probably won’t be worth its true value."

"True," Wu Hong nodded. She suddenly wanted a snack, so she took out the rainbow grapes. She fed herself before reaching in the back to feed Wang Wei.

"What do you think about the Butterfly Princess?"

"You’re not the first person who suspects her identity. In fact, many people tested this theory by trying to assassinate her, but it was proven that Qin’s Dragonrobe Guards heavily protected her," Wu Hong explained.

"Have you met her?"

"In a manner of speaking," Wu Hong revealed. "When I was condensing my Vibration Rune, I studied music. I asked for her help, but the Qin people made me go through so many hoops, and in the end, we only communicated long distance through an array."

"Do you think this piece of work will be worth it?"

"If it’s anything like the last one, it should," Wu Hong nodded.

Time passed, and a day later, the last two individuals arrived: the demon and Innate Demon Gods. They arrived together, side-by-side, one in a gilded temple and another in an auspicious mountain. No one would think this was a coincidence, and everybody watched the play.

Upon their arrival, the Qin Saint Court sent a notice to all participants. The assembly will start in a week, but three days later, the Butterfly Princess will reveal her latest masterpiece. The Qin Court invited everybody to participate.

Wang Wei and Wu Hong had to separate, each staying in their respective factions’ private rooms. However, they remained in direct communication through the Soul Link.

"The Qin Court is about to make a major move," Yan Shirong commented as he looked at the performing courtesan on the stage below. Despite the woman’s best efforts, no one cared, as they had come for only one person.

"Ying Zheng is probably building momentum for whatever proposition he’s scheming," Wang Wei said casually.

"It’s worrying how aggressive and open he’s been acting lately," Qiyuan said. Unless it involved military battles, the Human Emperor preferred to work from the shadows. No, even military battles are often left to Bai Qi.

"It’s obvious that something has given him immense confidence," Yan Hai sneered.

"It’s about to start."

The lights on the first-floor stage went out, plunging the entire mansion into chaos. When the lights reappeared, a woman appeared, whose beauty cannot be truly expressed in words. She wore a blue hanfu with many layers, including a long cloth that left a trail behind her.

Her eyes were perfectly accentuated with red mascara, revealing her charming and angelic phoenix eyes. Her small lips were as pink as the freshest immortal peaches. She had a red butterfly mark on her forehead, and her long black hair hung all the way to her knees.

Then there was her skin. It was so smooth that even the most perfect jade would be jealous.

Like all beautiful women and all powerful cultivators, the Butterfly Princess had her own unique aura. The best way to describe it was passion — not the passion of lust, but the passion of someone dedicated to their craft. Anyone looking at her can easily be inspired, whether to improve their crafts or to use her as a muse.

However, her aura had something else underneath the surface.

"Did you sense it?" Wang Wei asked.

"The power of Transcendence is protecting her blueprint," Wu Hong nodded. "And it doesn’t appear this power was used to protect her, but an intrinsic part of her body and soul."

"There is also the subtle aura of perfection," Wang Wei added. "Ying Zheng may have artificially created this woman with the Jade Butterfly pendant. Well, her name is the Butterfly Princess — he put the answer in front of everybody."

"The question is why? Why create her and why leave her as a courtesan?" Wu Hong asked.
