Infinite Range: The Sniper Mage
Chapter 631 - 631: 631 The Bearer of the Dragon SealCrippling Strike -100 million!
Damage Mitigated!
Damage Reflected -10 million!
Molten Shield erupted in a burst of crimson light, sending a portion of the impact right back at King Arthur.
“You suffered a crippling strike: -3 million!”
Orson spat blood. Even with his double-layered damage reduction, his health hadn’t fully recovered—one slap had nearly ended him right there on the riverbank.
In the next instant, he forced himself upright and looked toward Crimson Lizard King, still struggling in midair.
Across the way, Giant Jack let out a roar of rage, driving his fist toward Crimson Lizard King like a falling star.
Orson’s face darkened, eyes burning with fury. “I fucking said it: anyone who harms my beast dies!”
He exhaled long and slow. The air, once oppressively hot, rapidly chilled.
Frost raced across his skin, forming a dazzling suit of ice crystal armor.
His eyes turned deep blue, and even his staff took on an eerie azure glow.
His expression grew solemn. Lifting both palms slowly, he uttered in a frigid voice, “Awakened Absolute Zero Prison.”
A sinister crackling spread through the air.
The sand at his feet frosted over in an instant, ice creeping out to freeze space itself.
In a heartbeat, all of Godfall Ravine lay cloaked in silver. Everything around them was buried under a heavy crust of supernatural frost—everything except the river of blood, which still oozed on.
Absolute Freeze!
Absolute Freeze!
In that instant, the world fell silent. The battle ceased.
King Arthur, Giant Jack, even Crimson Lizard King—all of them frozen in place.
Only one figure moved.
Orson set his foot on an icy stairway that rose before him, each step etched into the air itself, leading him straight up to the suspended, frozen body of Crimson Lizard King.
This was the tyrannical power of his awakened lesser Forbidden curse.
An evolved form of the Ice Prison Ring—turning the heavens and earth into a cage of frost.
“Well done.”
Under the stunned gaze of two ancient titans, Orson gently brushed a hand across the icy shell covering Crimson Lizard King.
He triggered Battle Space, pulling her safely inside.
Percentage Frostbite -57 million!
Percentage Frostbite -54 million!
Massive damage numbers continued to tick upward, but Orson remained calm as still water.
This S-class awakened ice spell rivaled an unawakened Forbidden curse.
Its activation demanded 50,000 mana up front, then drained 5% of total mana per second (with a floor of 5,000).
Once triggered, no method could replenish mana—only when it ran dry would the effect end.
During that time, he could freely manipulate all frost and water elements in range, inflicting absolute freeze based on the target’s resilience—a minimum of five seconds, up to twenty, until his mana finally burned out.
It also stacked a Frostbite debuff, shaving off 2% of max HP in true damage per second.
It was so demanding that even water or ice mages, known for their huge mana pools, were mostly locked out. That 50,000 mana minimum cut out nearly every adventurer.
This was Orson’s strongest finishing move outside of his tricky fusion magic.
And unless it was life or death, he would never use it—because a mage with zero mana was nothing but prey.
Orson stepped back down the icy stairway, his tone like the killing cold itself.
“Why did you stop fighting? Is this battlefield not to your liking?”
“Don’t worry—I’ll see you off properly.”
His face was impassive, his words cutting as the frost.
The forced five-second freeze, the percent-based damage—made to destroy thick-hided, giant foes exactly like these.
In this absolute chill, they couldn’t even dodge.
The Divine Blood Corrosion kept eating away.
Two of Radiant Shuttle’s greatest warriors saw their health plunge.
Until at last, their vast avatars crumbled. Their true bodies were swept by the river of blood up to the banks.
“You’ve successfully shattered Era of Immortals adventurer Giant Jack’s Soul Seal skill!”
“You’ve successfully shattered Era of Immortals adventurer King Arthur’s Soul Seal skill!”
“Draconis Reverse Scale: Resurrection Effect Removed!”
“Solarius Reverse Scale: Teleportation Effect Removed!”
Hearing the system prompts, Orson let out a long sigh.
He planted Supreme Arcane Blade into the ground, barely holding up his exhausted body and battered spirit.
“Your era is over.”
His ancestors had beaten him half to death—he wasn’t about to pass up a chance to drive that knife in deeper.
Whether they could hear him or not, he stared coldly at them.
“Rest easy. I’ll carry you home.”
Two Ancient Dragon God reverse scales rose from their broken forms, floating straight into his hands.
King Arthur and Giant Jack’s stats plummeted, dropping to little more than ordinary adventurers.
“The curse… it’s finally gone.”
Giant Jack’s face eased into a look of peace.
He gave Orson a grateful nod. “Captain… this old sailor’s heading on ahead.”
“Captain? Wait, do you know who I—”
Orson’s eyes went wide, but Giant Jack only threw back his head and laughed.
He fixed Orson with a haunted stare.
“Old soldiers still recognize the general’s true Soul Seal.”
Before Orson could press him, Giant Jack clamped a hand around his own throat and twisted.
A brittle snap rang out.
His soul vanished, gone at last in peace.
“You’ve earned our approval.”
King Arthur sat upright, posture like a pine rooted in stone.
“Wait—”
Orson started, but King Arthur shook his head, smiling faintly.
“No need for more questions. You’ve gained the right to meet him.”
“You were testing me?” Orson was shocked, staring in disbelief, unsure what scheme lay behind all this.
“Testing isn’t the word. We were half-mad, half-sane. We couldn’t always tell the difference.”
King Arthur’s smile softened, like an elder pleased with his junior.
Then he sighed.
“That one preserved a scrap of our souls by secret art, to craft this trial of life and death for the Captain. Don’t disappoint him.”
And with that, still smiling, King Arthur breathed out a long, heavy breath—dying where he sat.
A chill ran down Orson’s spine.
Way back in the succubus village, Mia had mentioned “that one.”
Clearly this trial wasn’t so simple. Even if he’d tried to skip ahead to the final challenge at the World Tree’s remains, he probably still would have been forced to face these three ancient generals.
He’d only gotten through by making the right call on instinct.
“You’ve obtained the Genesis Dragon Seal!”
\\[Genesis Dragon Seal]
\\[Grade: Legacy Divine Item]
\\[Effect: Breaks the bearer’s growth cap, enabling evolution to a higher tier of life. Usable repeatedly. (Cannot exceed Lesser God rank.)]
\\[Restriction: Beast only.]
\\[Note: Forged by three Celestial Winged Dragons together, this treasure is virtually unique. It exerts a powerful pull on Heaven Demons—do not reveal it lightly.]
Orson refocused. The three reverse scales merged in his hands, forming a dragon-etched seal of green crystal, like tourmaline.
This time the item’s details were even clearer.
It was indeed a tier above Ancient Divine Items.
His brow twitched at the additional note—especially that this would draw Heaven Demons like flies.
Not hard to figure why.
The different ranks among Heaven Demons—low, mid, high, royal, emperor—were all tied to consuming flesh to evolve.
The Dragon Seal broke limits, letting beasts ascend to higher tiers.
No surprise it tempted Heaven Demons the same way.
Orson checked his status and found a new “Bearer of the Dragon Seal” buff.
Fortunately, it disappeared when he stowed the seal away.
“What if… I simply refused to put it away?”
His eyes narrowed, lips curling into a twisted grin.
“There’s actually quite a lot I’d love to say, heart to heart, to all the Heaven Demons in this miserable world.”
Soul Seal mastery, adventurer battle honors, all his remaining shortcomings… seemed they could be remedied soon enough.
