Guide to raise my cutie husbands

Chapter 1843 - 1843: An old enemy

“What’s going on? How did Little Goat suddenly disappear?”

“Did he really disappear? How can such a thing happen? As far as I know, Little Goat has always followed Yu Mai. How can he suddenly disappear into thin air like that?”

“Not to mention, Little Goat is really sensible. He usually takes care of Yu Mai; how can he suddenly go missing?” The villagers were quite surprised when they heard that the little pet goat that usually followed Yu Mai was missing. After all, they had seen Little Goat follow Yu Mai without leaving his side.

For once, they could believe that Yu Mai had gone somewhere alone, but it was impossible for them to believe that Little Goat had gone somewhere alone.

“Forget about all of that,” said another woman when she saw that the villagers were wasting their time discussing this and that. “Have you all forgotten? Little Goat is the one who usually takes and guides the rest of the livestock of the village. If he is gone, then what are we going to do?”

The villagers soon realised that there was indeed a problem, with Little Goat gone—what about their livestock? Doesn’t it mean that their livestock animals were missing as well?

As soon as this thought came into their heads, the villagers turned worried and immediately rushed home. And it was just as they all expected, their cows, goats and hens were missing.

With their livestock gone, the villagers started to panic even further. Their livestock went missing with them gone; how would they farm? Not to mention the manure made by their livestock helped them in growing their crops. If their livestock went missing, what were they going to do in the future? How would they survive? Not to mention the cattle that they bought were not cheap at all! If they went missing, then they would have to buy new ones! They did not have that much money.

Thus, the villagers immediately went looking for livestock and Little Goat.

When Yu Mai woke up at the Yu house, he immediately burst into tears. He cried and told the mers that someone attacked him from behind, causing him to fall unconscious. He didn’t know who attacked him; all Yu Mai knew was that the person who attacked him was hiding in the shadows.

It didn’t come as a surprise, as Yu Dong and the rest of the village knew the path that Yu Mai took every day when he took Little Goat to the mountains.

Yu Dong turned grim when she heard that someone had attacked Yu Mai to steal Little Goat. The reason behind this theft was quite clear: the one who stole Little Goat knew that the cattle of the village listened to Little Goat. Thus they used Little Goat to lure the cattle out.

As for why? It must be because they knew that the cattle listened to Little Goat. The people behind this must think that there was something different about Little Goat, when the truth was that the reason the cattle and Little Goat were so sensible was because of her spiritual energy.

Yu Dong never thought that her spiritual fodder would cause such trouble. If she had known then, she would have definitely restrained herself a bit.

With how the situation was turning around, it wouldn’t take long for her to be caught either.

Shen Li patted Yu Mai on the back and coaxed him to sleep before turning to look at Yu Dong. “Dong Dong, what should we do now? It’s clear that someone is targeting our family. In case they realise that it has nothing to do with Little Goat and the cattle, what will we do?”

Yu Dong patted him on the back of his hands before saying, “There is no need to worry. We will think of a way to find Little Goat and the rest of the cattle before the effect of the fodder disappears.”

As long as the culprit behind this kidnapping was not in a hurry, Yu Dong was certain that she could still find a way to look for Little Goat.

Chen Mi and Ye Liu exchanged a look while Fang Chi rubbed his hands nervously. He said to Yu Dong, “Is there nothing we can do? We have wasted a lot of time. I am afraid that if we don’t find Little Goat, then our family’s secret will be out in the open. And it will bring unnecessary trouble.”

“Don’t worry, the one who stole Little Goat is someone from the village,” sneered Yu Dong. “Though we indeed missed the crucial time to catch them in the act, with the entire village looking for Little Goat, there is no way they can run. At most they will hide Little Goat and the cattle that they had stolen before transporting them to the buyer they had reached out to.”

The entire village was being guarded by a bunch of mammies and women; how could it be possible that no one saw Yu Mai getting attacked and Little Goat being stolen along with the rest of the cattle that followed him? It must be because the one who stole them knew when the guards shifted their shifts.

What was more Little Goat was the first creature who was influenced by her spiritual energy and she had raised it with the finest fodder. It was as intelligent as a human; how could he follow someone without any reason or lose his way home?

It was impossible, which could only mean that someone took him away against his will.

“How do you know that the villager who stole Little Goat and the cattle wants to sell them?” Chen Mi asked Yu Dong.

“Use your head, Mi,” said Ye Liu with a sigh. “If they keep the cattle and Little Goat, they will be caught sooner or later. Why would they do something so foolish? It’s better to sell them and make money!”
