Ling Ran looked at Yu Dong with a scornful sneer. She nonchalantly raised her shoulder and said to Yu Dong, “Do you think you can just walk in and out of this village? Since you dared to come here, you are destined to die. Have you heard of a dead person putting forth demands?

A surge of darkness surged in Yu Dong’s eyes as she looked at the woman in front of her. She raised her arm and rushed at Ling Ran, who tried to dodge but was caught by Yu Dong, who smashed her fist into Ling Ran’s face.

“You really know how to piss someone off,” Yu Dong sneered. She took out her dagger to stab it right in the heart of Ling Ran, who immediately caught hold of someone and pushed the woman in front of Yu Dong.

Puff.

The sound of blood gushing out echoed in the silent village. The woman who was used as a shield didn’t even have the time to escape and died with open eyes. While Ling Ran, on the other hand, rolled to one side and dodged the attack that was aimed at her heart.

She had not expected such a thing to happen. Ling Ran knew that Yu Dong was skilled but she never knew that the woman was this skilled. She actually attacked her so quickly.

“Do it!” Ling Ran didn’t even get a chance to understand what Yu Dong meant by those words; her eyes widened as she raised her head, and she only saw a sharp glint of a blade before darkness fell in front of her eyes.

The villagers gasped in surprise when they saw Ling Ran’s head roll off her shoulders and fall on the ground. The sight was so terrifying that it made several mers gasp. Though they were eating human flesh, the one who took care of the processing was their wives. Thus they did not have to see anything that they didn’t want to but now this time around the head on the shoulders of Ling Ran was cut off right in front of them, which terrified them too much.

“Take me to your village head,” Yu Dong snapped at the villagers. “If you don’t, then I will cut your heads off as well.”

“R—right away!” The villagers shouted as they turned on their feet and rushed in the direction where Madam Gong was hiding. They only came to live at this village because Madam Gong promised them water and meals; if she hadn’t, then they would not have rushed to join hands with her.

Yu Dong sneered and followed the villagers calmly; behind her, Wu Junfen cleaned her blade with Ling Ran’s clothes before following Yu Dong.

The two women walked to the very end of the village before coming to a stop in front of the large building. The villagers didn’t stop; instead, they all rushed inside the large hall, where they shouted and yelled.

“Madam, these two women killed Madam Ling and Madam Pang!”

“Madam, you have to save us!”

“Madam!”

“These two are the ones who broke into the village.”

Master Gong frowned, she thought that Ling Ran would be able to kill these trespassers. She never thought that the woman would fail in such a spectacular manner.

She got to her feet and then stepped out of the room where she was practising dark arts.

“Silence,” said Master Gong with a furious look on her face. “Stop yelling, I will see who dared to break into my village.”

She stepped out and looked at the two women who were standing not far. Her eyes widened with surprise and glee when she saw that the two were surrounded with golden aura and specks. This meant that these two women were destined to do some great things. If she was to kill them and use their soul to refine the pill of fortune, she was sure that it would be refined in one day!

“You two…” her lips curled up in a smug smile as she stepped down the stairs. “Are really heaven-sent. I was having quite a lot of trouble but with you two coming here, I think my work will become a lot easier.”

Yu Dong narrowed her eyes when she heard the words of the women; she turned to look at Wu Junfen before saying to her, “Are you going to deal with her?”

“I am afraid.” Wu Jufen smiled as she pointed at the villagers whose eyes turned completely white as if they were being controlled by something. “There is not enough time.”

She took out her own long whip and then smacked it against the floor before saying to Yu Dong, “There are a bunch of naughty ghosts waiting to be smacked.”

Yu Dong rolled her eyes before she smiled at Madam Gong. “It seems like it’s just you and me, huh?”

Madam Gong frowned as she didn’t understand why this woman was feeling so confident. She raised her hand to attack Yu Dong but before she could think of an attack, Yu Dong raised her hand and threw what looked like a ball of mud.

That was what Madam Gong thought but — the second the thing hit the ground, it exploded and caused her to choke.

“Wh—what? What sorcery—cough…what is this?” The woman screamed as she felt her eyes sting with tears. She could not understand what was happening nor could she see anything.

Yu Dong unsheathed her dagger but she didn’t attack with it; instead, she raised her hand and waved it, causing the spiritual energy to be released and she controlled the rough and dried plants to attack Madam Gong.

“AHH!” The dry wood gleamed with the sickly, sticky blood as it dripped down on the ground and Madam Gong, who didn’t expect such a thing to happen, swooned on the spot.

Madam Gong clutched her shoulder and glared at Yu Dong once the tear gas stopped messing with her eyes.

“You are the first woman who dared to mess with me like this!”
