GREED: ALL FOR WHAT?

The increase in the reserve of energy water is due to the Golden Hammer gang and their raid of their two neighbors.

The gang barely had 1,000 liters of energy water before, but after raiding the two gangs beside them, their stock of energy water increased to 24,000 liters.

A new noble family is set to take over the town. In the meantime, the town is under the control of the lamp bearers.

All of these were achieved by the commander of the lamp bearers. This commander is a man wearing heavy knight armor. The armor protects him and hides his appearance from the world.

The commander is currently standing in the hall that the Ivory family uses for their meetings and where Bushwick gives audience to guests.

There is a large table in front of the commander. On the table is a large map of Ivory Town and its environs. The commander is examining this map, looking for something.

There are others in the room standing around the large table. But they were so still and quiet that it appeared that they were statues, not living things.

After going through the map and failing to find what he was looking for, the commander said to the people in the room, “Report.”

The first person, “We have performed another hunt for the dissidents and eliminated a few more of them. We also learned from the ones we captured that the nobles are already gathering an army to attack us.”

This person spoke more about the situation of the ongoing war between the nobles and the lamp bearers. The main report is that the nobles have designated Ivory Town as the place to fight with the lamp bearers.

In comparison, the entire kingdom is generally at peace. Most people in the kingdom don’t know that the lamp bearers and the nobles are at each other’s throats.

The nobles have insisted that Bushwick be released and his town be returned to his control. This wasn’t just talk. To ensure that they will get their way, they are sending an army to enforce their will.

From the information gathered by their intelligence officers, the nobles aren’t kidding around this time. The nobles have rallied and are forming an army with unprecedented speed.

It was as if the nobles had been waiting for Bushwick to be defeated to make a move. However, the commander wasn’t scared after hearing the report.

He said to the person reporting, “Inform the cardinals. Let them make a decision. We will remain here, standing strong.”

The person hurriedly saluted and said, “Yes, commander.”

He nodded and said, “Next.”

The next person gave their report immediately. “We have found traces of the only living accomplice of Bushwick. She is a rank 4 fateweaver.”

The person replied, “He is dead, sir. He died trying to kill Silver Mirror at the behest of Bushwick. Apparently, Bushwick and Silver Mirror were only working together temporarily. They turned against each other after their cooperation.”

The commander hummed again. But this time there was a hint of pleasure in his hum. Apparently, he was happy to hear the report.

This happiness showed in his tone as he said, “So most of Bushwick’s accomplices are dead. That’s good. That’s very good news. The cardinals will be glad to hear this.”
