Chapter 2042  Scramble For Time And Solution.

Even if they don’t gain any power, devouring the void universe will surely expand their existence, which will buy them more time from ANNIHILATION and also provide energy for them to use the aspect of Time to speed up their evolution.

These are things that they desperately need to resist ANNIHILATION. So they didn’t hesitate to devour everything.

They unleashed the abyss within them, which caused a giant whirlpool that was devouring everything to appear in the void universe.

They also used their immense power to affect the space of the void universe and pull everything within the universe to themselves.

While they were doing this, ANNIHILATION was also destroying them. Other powerful beings were also trying to escape the void universe.

World gods, Usurpers, Archons, and Guardians noticed the terrible situation of the void universe and the absence of the Will of the void universe. Some of them didn’t know what had happened, but they didn’t intend to remain in the crumbling universe. So they began escaping en masse.

Unfortunately, they all died as soon as they left the void universe. It didn’t matter how strong they were. As long as they were not Limitless, they were snuffed out in the blink of an eye. Only the Overgod was able to escape. Everyone else that escaped died as soon as they left the edge of the void universe while the void universe crumbled and Legion tethered on the edge of ANNIHILATION.

Legion consumed everything they could, but it wasn’t enough. The last of the void universe that they could absorb was absorbed, but they were still dying. So they activated the Time Lock and reverted to the moment they got control of it again.

They had spent a hundred years in this time loop, but they had little to show for it. All the power that they accumulated was gone, and so was the damage that they had incurred.

All they had to show for their effort was the knowledge and experience with ANNIHILATION that they had gained during these hundreds of years of affliction.

On the other hand, the power of ANNIHILATION that they had to deal with had increased drastically over these hundreds of years. It meant that even though the void universe was back to what it was and they could devour it again, it was quickly becoming insufficient in helping them fight off ANNIHILATION.

So they had to find another solution quickly. While they were searching for other solutions, they went ahead to devour the void universe while trying other means and combinations of aspects to resist ANNIHILATION.

Meanwhile, the same thing that happened in the previous time loop happened to others again. Many entities escaped but were killed in the process. ANNIHILATION taunted them and belittled them again. The void universe was eventually destroyed.

All of these happened, including their inability to deal with ANNIHILATION. So they had to reverse time again and go to the beginning of the time loop.

What’s worse is that it only took them 50 years to reach the dead end in this cycle. It was half of what it took the previous cycle.

They could activate the Time Lock again for another try, but things didn’t look good for them because even though they were learning quickly about ANNIHILATION, the power of ANNIHILATION was also growing stronger faster. They were getting less and less time to find a solution.

They repeated the time loop 12 times. By that point, they only had 17 days worth of time before the damage to their existence became too much for them to bear, and they had to revert to the past. Fortunately, they encountered a breaking point by observing those who managed to escape from the void universe.

Anyone who could escape the void universe and survive the power of ANNIHILATION had to have the solution or part of the solution to their problem. So they turned their attention to the only two who were able to resist ANNIHILATION to a certain extent.

The first one was the Overgod. This entity, who was only a single head before, had become whole now. It had a body that included arms and legs.

They don’t know how the Overgod recovered or how it could resist ANNIHILATION, so they were very curious about it. They wanted to capture it to learn its secrets. Unfortunately, it was much stronger than them.

They knew that it was stronger than them, so they didn’t bother to waste their precious time and energy on trying to capture the Overgod. Instead, they focused on the easily accessible second option.

This second option was the god of the soul and her Transcendence Boat. A single one of them could defeat her in the past, so all twelve of them can surely capture her now that they are stronger and in larger numbers.

The god of the soul had succeeded in escaping from them and her brother with the help of the Transcendence Boat, but that meant that she had overused it. So she couldn’t escape the void universe now that it was being destroyed and successfully return home.

She can still escape the void universe, but the Transcendence Boat always runs out of power before she can go far. So she was doomed to die to ANNIHILATION eventually.

Legion hadn’t noticed her earlier because the void universe was large, she was invisible, and she was always trying to leave the void universe as soon as possible. It took many cycles of the time loop with them searching for other possible sources of solution before they could find her.

They saw her in the 12th cycle as she left the void universe in an attempt to escape. They saw that her attempt was successful, so at the beginning of the 13th cycle, they prioritized stopping and hunting her above all else.

They diverted their attention to capturing her instead of dealing with the power of ANNIHILATION. It was a risky decision that they hoped would be worth it.
