Cox Family:
Wilfred Cox returned home. He was in a terrible mood. He didn’t expect Tom Doyle to lose the duel. He had decided to take a few days off to cool his head. Then he would have to think of a plan.
Since Vincent Carey is so strong and has proven his strength, he didn’t know whether it was good to continue the hostility against him. He cast aside this thought before going to his room.
…
Nicholson Family:
Both the father and son were shocked and disappointed with the duel’s result. Not only did they see Vincent Carey winning the duel, but they also lost their money on the bet. This made both father and son angry and helpless.
Rick was looking at his son. He didn’t know what to say for a second.
His eyes showed complicated emotions. His son had previously lost the duel at the hands of Vincent Carey. He had thought that by using the gravity chamber, his son could learn this magic and pay back for the defeat later.
But he had underestimated the newcomer. Now he realized that Vincent Carey had held back while fighting against his son; otherwise, his son would have died on the spot.
A hint of fear flashed in his eyes at the thought.
“Jason, what are you going to do?” Rick asked his son.
“Father, I’m going to train hard. I won’t challenge him until I make progress in my magic,” Jason said resolutely.
He was already at the bottom among the wizard seeds. Now, he thought Vincent Carey’s strength ranked among the top three. He didn’t want to remain at the bottom.
Hearing his son’s firm words, Rick sighed inwardly. As long as his son’s confidence was not shaken, he could take care of the other things.
…
Susan Park was among the shocked as well. But she had only competitiveness, not hostility like the others. After witnessing Vincent Carey’s duel and Lord Charlotte’s support towards him, she decided not to offend Vincent Carey hereafter.
…
The news had reached the ears of the other wizard seeds who were not in Magic City at that moment, especially the top wizard seeds of the Silver Tower. They were looking forward to meeting the newcomer once they returned.

From MC’s Perspective:
The following day,
After getting ready, I went to the lobby to meet Manager Lara. I was in a good mood because of yesterday’s win.
Shortly afterwards,
Manager Lara came to see me. Upon seeing her, I noticed a bright smile on her face.
“Thanks to you, we won the bet. Each of us made a lot of money.” After saying that, she handed me a small container.
A hint of surprise flashed in my eyes. I accepted the magic container. I knew the space inside the container was huge; it was a product of magic tech.
Then I stored the container in my storage bracelet before looking at her.
“How much money?” I asked.
“200 million super-grade mana stones,” Lara said with a smile.
Gasp!
I inhaled sharply. This was not an ordinary amount. I had never seen super-grade mana stones before coming to the magic city. Now, I have earned one. My heart raced with excitement.
Then I thanked her once again. After having a small talk, I went to the underground storage room to start my work.
In the room, I saw new unknown items piled up on the floor.
Buzz!
Manager Lara was calling me. Seeing that, I answered the call.
“I forgot to tell you. Lord Charlotte brought a few unknown items last night. You can appraise them. If you find anything unusual, tell me right away,” Lara said on the call.
“Okay, I’ll see what I can find,” I replied.
She then ended the call. I turned my attention to the unknown items. Most of them were scrap metals. A few appeared to be magic scrolls.
My eyes flickered. I decided to start appraising the magic scrolls.
I picked up a few of them before placing them on the desk. The scrolls were clearly torn apart; only the last few were intact. They appeared to be old but not torn.
Suddenly, I thought of something before probing the scrolls with the system function.
[Ding! Identified the magic item.]
[Ding! It’s a Magic Scroll that contains a wisp of a forbidden wizard.]
The screen appeared in front of me. Seeing that, my eyes gleamed with excitement. My heart started to race. Then I started to probe the other magic scrolls, but I found that those were dead objects.
It’s a pity, but I thought the value of this particular magic scroll was huge. It held the magic power of a forbidden wizard. I didn’t know why I had this strong urge to take it for my own use.
Then I shook my head and dismissed the thoughts. I took the black scroll in my hand and made a call to Manager Lara.
When she answered the call, I told her about the magic scroll. But I didn’t reveal the system’s access; I simply told her that I had found a special magic scroll.
Lara was interested. She decided to come and see for herself.
Shortly afterwards,
When she came to the storage room, I gave her the black magic scroll. Lara accepted it but felt no mana fluctuations from the magic scroll.
She frowned, thinking it was a dead scroll. If it had magic power, she would have felt the mana fluctuations.
She turned around and said, “Vincent, I think it’s a dead scroll. The magic power has been exhausted. It’s a waste product now.”
Hearing that, my mouth twitched. I didn’t know that she couldn’t tell the difference. No wonder Lord Charlotte brought the magic scroll—maybe she hadn’t noticed anything unusual.
Then I said, “My instinct tells me that it’s not an ordinary scroll.”
Lara appeared thoughtful.
She said, “I can test it by injecting a little mana into it. But it would be a waste if it turned out to be a real scroll. Not only that, if your words are true, then the scroll could contain magic power.”
I nodded in agreement.
