First Demonic Dragon

Chapter 994 - 994: No One Likes Tathamets

Thea stood on her balcony overlooking her domain.

She could definitely understand why her father had chosen to move the family home into an isolated canyon. It was quiet, and no one was around except the people they wanted to be there.

But Thea thought that this was much more her speed. She liked to feel the buzz of her city. Let it wash over her ancient bones and imbue her with life.

She liked to think that it kept her young, aside from the whole divine immortality thing.

Thea looked down into the unblemished glass containing a rosy pink champagne.

Through it’s reflection, she saw a familiar figure sneaking up behind her to pounce.

In the back of her mind, she wondered if she should act surprised or catch her darling in the act.

Jazmine jumped at Thea from behind and wrapped her arms around her wife’s delicate form. “Boo!”

Thea smirked, but had no other visible reaction.

“…What? Nothing?”

“Heavy-footed and heavy-handed, my love. I commend you for the splendid effort, though.”

Jasmine actually looked incredibly dejected and put on an expression like a sad puppy.

“And Zheng tried so hard to teach me how to walk in Shadow…”

“I hope you at least tipped him for his services.” Thea chuckled as she brought the glass to her lips.

Jazmine noticed something amiss with the beverage inside the glass. “Where’d you get that?”

“Sabine and I visited a vineyard while you were out dude bro-ing with my father and brothers.”

“H-How could you both do that!? Was it that new one in the magazine??”

Thea said nothing as she sipped from her glass.

Jazmine made a vindictive expression. “You know what… That’s fine. I’m going to ask your dad if he wants to go with me.”

Thea almost choked on her wine. “I told you, your friendship with my father makes me uncomfortable! He likes you better than all the kids he already has!”

“Not Nubia.” Jazmine shrugged.

“Okay, well, that’s different. Everyone loves Nubby, that’s her whole thing.”

Thea rolled her eyes and went back to marvelling at the view before her. Meanwhile, Jazmine attempted to use her new skills in stealth to pilfer Thea’s glass before she finished it.

However, she was surprised to see the glass slip through her fingertips and hit the floor.

“H-Hey, babe! Even if you don’t want to share, that’s-“

Jazmine only realized that something was wrong when Thea started to go down.

She caught her wife before she could hit the tile and carried her inside. All the while, she tried her best to shake Thea back to life.

“H-Hey! Babe, wake up! This isn’t funny!”

Her voice was shrill and panicked. If anyone else were home, then they would have undoubtedly come running

The only one to arrive was Little Black, who poked his head out from underneath the bed with one of the twins’ toys in his mouth.

Jazmine placed Thea on the bed and continued to shake her.

She was only growing more and more panicked as the minutes went on.

For some odd reason, Thea was blinking… Almost like a light flashing on and off.

It was really freaking Jazmine out.

However, before she could run off to find someone else, Thea suddenly sat up. She seemed perfectly normal again, but confused as to how they had changed location.

When she saw Jazmine’s red face, she mistakenly took her expression to be one of lust.

“….Gods, you are feeling pretty insistent, huh? Maybe don’t leave your wives at home to go listen to my grandfathers talk about how short skirts have gotten or watch my brother pile cheese and bacon on things that don’t need it.”

Jazmine’s brow furrowed. “I… What?”

“If you wanted to have sex, then you could have at least waited until I finished my wine..” Despite her protests, Thea still reached behind her back to unzip her dress.

Jazmine stopped her just before she could remove her clothing. “Babe… You just passed out.”

Thea fell silent as she touched her forehead. “Oh…”

“‘Oh’? Is that all you have to say about the fact that you just fainted? Why are you so chill about this??”

Thea rolled onto her stomach so that she didn’t have to face Jasmine. “I-I’ve just been having some headaches recently. No big deal.”

Jazmine flipped her wife over with one hand and straddled her wife so that she couldn’t move.

“No big deal my ass!”

“Don’t mind if I do…” Thea slid her hands down Jazmine’s waist.

Jaz grabbed her arms and pinned them above her head. “Not right now. Spill it.”

If Thea could have sunk into her blankets and disappeared, she would have gladly done so with no hesitation.

“It’s just a few small migraines. I used to get them way worse than this when I was a kid.” She dismissed.

“I don’t know if you think that’s supposed to make me feel better or not, but it isn’t. This hasn’t happened to you for years, so why’s it starting up again now!?”

Thea shrugged earnestly. “Maybe my body’s feeling some after effects after the pregnancy.”

Jazmine was completely unamused. “Babe, that was months ago.”

Thea forced herself to smile. “Delayed effects maybe..?”

“I’m telling your parents.” Jazmine reached into her pocket for her phone.

“Wait, wait, wait!” Thea’s legs flailed about on the bed until she was impossible to ignore.

“My parents already have enough on their plates right now with everything that happened to Aunt Isabelle. You tell them about this they’ll start freaking out over every little thing again just like before.”

Thea could still remember how her parents were during her childhood. They practically never left her side since her seizures could’ve taken her at any moment.

She didn’t want them to freak out and start monitoring all of her movements again. Especially not with the twins just being born.

“Just… please, let’s keep this between us and -“

“Oh my GOD if one more of you Tathamets says something about keeping secrets for the good of the family again I am going to pull my fucking hair out.”

An embarrassed smile was Thea’s only response.

Jazmine was unamused. “Don’t do that. It’s not going to work this time.”

Thea stopped smiling.

Jazmine pulled out her phone and went to her contacts. “I’ll give you the luxury of choice because I adore the shit out of you. Which parent am I calling?”

“You can’t do this to me, we said vows!”

“In sickness and in health, babe.”

Jazmine was about to press the first contact on her phone when it rang anyway.

She was surprised that the one calling her was Mira, and answered without a moment’s delay. Her lips already primed for snitching.

“Hey. Your sister is-“

Mira spoke through a mouthful of “Dad and Grandpa are fighting in the family roo-“

There was a loud crash in the background, followed by an outburst of yelling and a small degree of fireworks.

“I mean, they’re fighting outside.” Mira corrected. “Need a little help here.”

“Fighting?? For what, football season isn’t for another two months!”

Mira smiled bitterly. “Just… get here as soon as you can. It’s gonna be one of those family meetings again.”

The phone hung up and the girls were left stewing in silence.

Jazmine slowly looked down at Thea, who was smiling like a Cheshire cat.

“I’m still telling them.”

Thea stopped smiling again.

Fights in the Tathamet household are infrequent, but they aren’t exactly rare anymore either. With loud personalities like Darius, Satan, and Gulban, they happen around four or five times a month.

By now, everyone watches off to the side and enjoys snacks like they’re watching a bad movie with pretty actors.

But this time… things actually seemed like they may require intervention…

“You’re not going!”

Asmodeus smashed his forehead into his son’s skull and sent him crashing into the lake.

His son barely had time to pick himself up out of the water before Asmodeus reappeared to stomp on his head.

The rest of the family was watching from a new, but very large hole in the house. But after seeing how intense things were getting, the men were becoming wary of just sitting on the sidelines.

If Mateo, Jazmine, or Helios were here, this would probably be over and done with already…

Abaddon tackled his father and drove him to the ground.

“I don’t have a choice! I’m going!”

Asmodeus kicked his son in the stomach and threw him off.

“Choice… don’t sit here and talk to me about ‘choice’, son! You have a whole litany of choices, you can go anywhere you want in the damned multiverse! Why do you have to go to the one place we know absolutely fucking NOTHING about!?”

He clawed back to his feet and charged at his son to knee him in the jaw. Abaddon just barely avoided the blow and proceeded to snap his leg as a consequence.

“As if we go everywhere knowing every single thing about the planes of existence we dwell on! If something has to be done, then it just has to be done, and that’s the end of it!”

Those words only served to infuriate Asmodeus more as he punched his son in the jaw without hesitation.

Abaddon hit him back in response.

Soon, the two men were slugging each other back and forth like bitter rivals. The force of their blows was great enough to terraform a moon.

Neither of them were really trying to avoid each other’s blows anymore. Rather they were focused on hurting each other while proving they were unbothered by the other’s attacks.

However, after the eighth time their fists smashed into each other’s noses, a spurt of blood erupted from both of them.

In an instant, three figures appeared from three different directions.

Absalom grabbed Abaddon. Belphegor restrained his brother.

And Jazmine appeared in the middle of them to make sure they stayed separated.

Thea was pretty sure she had never seen her wife look this exhausted before.

“Fucking Tathamets… You are all going to be the death of me.”
