Eternal Cultivation Of Alchemy

Chapter 2724 - 2724: Stronger Yin

Whisker moved from one beast to another, checking through each of them to see if they were all doing the same thing. He quickly realized that they were in fact all cultivating.

All of the thousands of beasts that had come down to the surroundings had in fact all been cultivating.

He still questioned why they cultivated after just half a day of being outside, but as he roamed the place, he realized something else. The amount of beasts down here was far higher than what he would find outside.

There were nearly five times, if not more, beasts in the area that Whisker had went through. That gave him a weird feeling that these beasts, despite being at the peak of True realm, were in fact cultivating for days on end.

Why? Why would a beast have to cultivate so much?

A thought came to Whisker. It was something Alex had told him about this thing called Elixir. If one wanted to have their body consume the Elixir in their body, they needed to cultivate.

‘Are all of these beasts trying to absorb the Elixir they’ve gathered into their physical body?’ he thought. That seemed to be the most plausible thought he had all day.

It made perfect sense why these beasts would be cultivating so long if they could physically get stronger by doing that.

Whisker had heard that it only took a month or so for someone to completely absorb a jar full of Elixir, and these beasts could not have more than a drop of it at any moment. So, they shouldn’t need as much time to absorb it all.

But, Whisker wouldn’t know just how weak their cultivation technique was. It was clearly something passed down through their bloodline, and with how unnecessary Qi was aside from consuming Elixir, it wouldn’t be that necessary for them to have a good cultivation technique.

It was because of that very reason why these beasts did not have any good fighting technique as well and relied entirely on their physical body during fights.

‘So they eat other beasts throughout the day and come down here to absorb that Elixir, huh?’ Whisker thought.

Considering how slowly their strength grew at this point, Whisker couldn’t imagine there being that much Elixir in the body of a beast.

Now that he had the answer to the question about the beasts, Whisker wanted to learn about the Yin Qi.

This could not be the place where the Yin Qi gathered, could it? It would make no sense at all.

‘This is just a place that they passed through,’ he thought. ‘The Yin Qi is further down below.’

Intending to find the answer there as well, Whisker passed through the porous rocks and made his way deeper downward.

Whisker had thought that he would go down very far below, but within just a minute or two of traveling down, he had to stop. In just that small of a distance, the amount of Yin had suddenly drastically increased.

The amount of Yin in this particular region was so strong that Whisker could barely protect himself against it. He could maybe go a bit further down below, but his whiskers let him know that the Yin was only going to continue to get stronger.

He would die if things got dangerous, right? Whisker believed he didn’t have to worry.

But the thing that worried him more than death was the pain that would come beforehand. The sheer coldness was not something he wanted to experience at all. As such, Whisker chose to step back for now.

He flew back up to a warmer spot where the beasts stayed. He wondered if they were the same as him and only didn’t go further below because it got far too cold down there.

Whisker waited around while the beasts cultivated, and slowly felt the water grow warmer and warmer. The day’s Yang energy was slowly fighting off the Yin in this region as well. There was so much less Yin now.

‘Hmm…’

An idea came to Whisker. What if he waited until the very end of the day when the Yang would be at its highest and then he checked what was going on down below?

Considering he had no other good options, Whisker decided to do so. He waited until the end of the day, and when the Yang underground had reached its peak, he swam downward.

Dozens if not hundreds of beasts layered on top of each other, which Whisker had to go through to go downward. Throughout the day, it seemed the beasts had moved further down below as the Yin retreated more and more.

Whisker couldn’t figure out why they would do that, but he needed to focus on finding out what was down there. He went down as quickly as he could, but the Yin increased at a similar pace as before.

He reached a deeper distance than the previous time, but the situation was still the same. With his limited spiritual sense, he couldn’t tell just how much further he needed to go before he reached wherever the Yin was being drawn to.

Instead of his spiritual sense, Whisker relied on his whiskers. It had been the most helpful part of himself in Hell, so he closed his eyes and focused entirely on his whiskers.

The strongest two things he sensed were the amount of Yin in the sludge around him and the pure amount of physical pressure on top of him because of the billions and billions of sand and rock above him.

Not all of it directly affected him, but the pressure certainly did.

Whisker tried to feel whatever else there was, but he could sense nothing at all. There was no change in aura at all, no strong drawing of Yin.

However, there was something there, something not in the aura of this place, but in the scent.

It was a scent he had been familiar with after the past few months of being in Hell.

‘Why do I smell meat?’
