"Don't you have any homework to do?" Leo sat next to his sister, Clara, and asked. Clara was sitting on the couch in the living room and playing with her half-dragon pet, Skye.
"Brother, did you forget?"
"Forget what?"
"That our Academy was closed due to the war."
"That was only for yesterday. Why did you skip school today?" Leo asked in a questioning tone. Clara pouted.
"Because I was worried about our big brother."
"Excuses!!" Leo murmured in a tone that Clara heard him.
"I have heard that your teacher sent you homework along with today's study materials."
Hearing this, she widened her eyes in panic and asked."How do you know that?"
"Because I spoke to the person who came to deliver the notes."
Leo met her at the entrance of the Dragon Palace as she was leaving. His expression grew stern, and his eyes reflected that change.
"Do excuse do you have now?"
"Then what about you?" She asked while trying to change the topic.
"What about me?"
"You also skipped the Academy today. Not only that, you have been skipping school for the last 4-5 days. What about that?" Clara folded her arms on her chest and asked in a smug tone. It was like she had succeeded in her attempt to shift the topic of discussion.
"So what?" Leo asked in a calm tone.
"I will tell Big Brother about this. He will definitely scold you."
The meaning behind her words was clear. As long as he kept his mouth shut, she would also not tell anyone about her recent absence from the academy. Leo easily saw through her attempt to distract him.
He just rolled his eyes.
"I have been preparing to graduate from the Academy."
"But why?" Clara seriously asked.
"If I am not mistaken, there is still one year course left in your curriculum."
That was just the basic part. If her brother decides to pursue any field of interest, then additional months or years will be added. Leo nodded his head. ŖаΝO͍฿Ɛ𐌔
"Clara, my dream is to become the Next General of the Istarin Empire."
"I spoke to Big Brother before he left. He also admits that the Academy will only hinder my progress. So I am preparing for an early graduation and then I am going to work under each General."
"Each General will teach me for about 6 to 12 months. Only when my training under the seven generals ends will I be ready to take the role of a General."
Though, Leo knew even after that, he would need to wait a few years.
"That sounds tough!!" Clara was worried about her brother.
"This is my dream and I am going to follow it."
Once he was done with his training, he was going to propose and marry his girlfriend. Leo had already spoken to her about this decision. She fully supports his decision. It's not like leaving the Academy will suddenly create distance between them. Both of them often see each other outside of the Academy.
"What are you two talking about?" Aditya came from behind.
"Nothing.....!!" Clara tried to distract both of them, but Leo wasn't having it.
"Our little sister isn't doing her homework."
"Really...!!" Aditya sat next to Clara. Now, she was in the middle of her two brothers.
"Clara, do you have any explanation?" Hearing this, Clara began feeling very nervous. Aditya rarely asked her about her studies. On a normal basis, Lara or Lilith helped her with her homework. Sometimes, they became her home tutors.
"I am sorry...!!" In the end, she lowered her head and apologized. Aditya and Leo looked at each other and smiled.
"It's okay if you understand your mistake," Aditya patted her head. Clara nodded her head. Her head was still lowered.
"Remember, Clara, study is for your own good. You may not realize it now, but as you grow older, you will realize just how important studies are."
"By the way, how many friends have you made in the Academy?" Aditya curiously asked. Unlike Leo, Clara was quite sociable. From what Lilith told him, she is always surrounded by girls. At the Academy, whether it was due to her background or her appearance, Clara was a celebrity. Wherever she went, there were always people surrounding her "I have lots of friends, unlike brother Leo."
Leo felt like he had taken an arrow that had hit his heart. As for Leo, he was the complete opposite of Clara. Leo was a handsome young man, but the problem was his attitude. His cold attitude and his stern eyes kept girls and boys in his class away from him. It's a miracle that he managed to get a girlfriend despite being so awkward at socializing.
"Big Brother, I have a question for you."
"What is it?" Aditya asked with a small smile. Aditya had a sweet spot for little children. This wasn't the case in his previous life, but it seems this was one of the things that changed about it. In his previous life, he hated children and found them a nuisance. He hated how children cried. That screaming sound always irritated him.
But Now, he liked having children around him. Their innocence brightened everything.
"When will you get married?" She innocently asked. Clara was very curious about this. The more she thought of her big brother's wedding, the more excited she felt. This was a once-in-a-lifetime event. Her question slightly caught him off-guard. 'Even I am not sure!' This is what he wanted to say in response.
"Very soon! Maybe in a few years!"
"You cannot call this very soon."
She said while pouting.
"Haha....!!" Aditya laughed as he playfully ruffled her hair. Clara did not stop him as she enjoyed this.
"I am speaking from the perspective of a cultivator. We are immortal beings. The concept of time has no value to us."
Aditya did not want to say anything profound or complex that she might have a hard time understanding.
"There are several important things I want to accomplish before my marriage ceremony."
"Please don't take too much time, okay?"
"Don't worry, I won't! Besides, in a few years, you will grow up."
"Hehe...!!" It was very rare for Aditya to spend time with his siblings, but it was good to know that there wasn't any barrier between them. Their relationship resembled that of true siblings.
Scene Change______
Aditya personally welcomed Soraya to the Dragon Palace.
"Your Majesty, congratulations on becoming the very first Empress of the Dune Sovereignty Empire."
"Thank you! I am glad to see that you have recovered."
Soraya was in formal attire: a modest, long dark purple dress.
She was wearing the Crown of the Dune Sovereignty.
"Your Majesty, please just address me by my name. Soraya or Sora would be enough."
Her actions showed that she did not consider herself to be Aditya's equal. She was okay with being addressed using her name. This appeared to be an indication from her that she hoped for their relationship to evolve beyond a strictly formal connection.
"Then, please do not hesitate to use 'Aditya' to call me."
"It feels inappropriate."
Soraya considered Aditya to be someone above her. While both individuals hold the title of Emperor, he possesses a range of qualities that elevate his standing above hers in various aspects.
"It's alright! I do not mind."
Aditya said as he led her to the dining table.
"I believe that fostering a more informal and open dialogue between us would be a valuable first step toward strengthening the alliance between our two empires."
"Alright!" Soraya finally agreed.
"Please meet my family."
One by one, Aditya introduced everyone to Soraya.
"And finally, this is my 7th fiancee. She is the Goddess of Music. In this universe, no one has a voice sweeter than hers. Her name is Rin Tatsuki. Like me, she is a Divine Dragon."
Soraya had already guessed Rin's identity but knowing that she was a Divine Dragon like Aditya shocked her. Soraya sat on the opposite end of the 25-meter-long dining table facing Aditya.
"Your Majesty....I mean Aditya.....!!" Soraya still found it a little hard to address Aditya by his name.
"What is your plan regarding the Central Region?"
As they spoke, others ate and curiously listened.
For Clara, much of what the two of them were saying was going over her head. This made her realize the difference between an adult and a child. Under the table, Lara gently held her hand and smiled at her. Her smile was telling her to not worry. She wasn't the only one. Even, Lara couldn't understand much of what they were saying. Even if she could, she couldn't understand the reasons for their words. Aditya told her how he planned to restore the central. He didn't go into the details as this wasn't the place for it. He only touched the surface of what he planned to do. Aditya thought she asked him this question to avoid awkward silence, as sudden quietness could make things uncomfortable.
In the end, Soraya put the fork and knife down and looked at Aditya after wiping at lips.
"Aditya, I have a proposal."
By now, she had gotten comfortable using his name in their conversation. Everyone around the table looked at her.
"How about annexing the entire Central Region to the Istarin Empire?" Her suggestion left everyone around the dining table stunned. ----------------
