Divine Emperor of Death

Chapter 4462: Putting A Trump Card to Use

Chapter 4462: Putting A Trump Card to Use

Elsewhere in the palace, Zestria had just received the news. Her hand rested atop her belly, feeling the gentle pulses of life within. She smiled proudly, "It won’t be long before you arrive too..."

She only wished that Isabella and Bylai had also been present here to see her. She couldn’t wait to see their faces, missing them badly.

Tanya, on the other hand, was curled up in her chambers with Lea, Tia, and Pia, who were helping her cope with morning fatigue and sharing stories of their own troubles during pregnancy to lift her spirits.

These women were strong cultivators, but in these quiet moments, they allowed themselves to be wives, sisters, and mothers. They took pride in being able to give birth to the manifestation of their love, wondering, hoping, daydreaming, and wishing for them to be born without any complications.

They were not immortal children, so they could be spared from the tribulation, but the tribulation of having to protect them and allow them to grow normally was the most challenging part, making them fearful and hoping for the best.

In the Davis Family, everything could be said to be proceeding smoothly.

However, the same couldn’t be said about the secret realm in the Eternal Twilight Lower Realm.

By this point, it was basically confirmed that there were multiple forces from other galaxies and other celestial bodies. Now, on top of treasure hunting, the mission for young supreme geniuses included sabotaging or closing the gates that lead to the other galaxies by creating hindrances or conquering the shard world itself and sealing the spatial vortex to stop them from entering.

However, it was not going well.

Why? Not because the other galaxies were powerful but because they didn’t know how to go to the shard world that contained the spatial vortex leading to other galaxies. It was difficult to discover. The closer they got, the more they were pushed back by the forces from the other galaxies.

Although the foreign forces don’t quite match up to them since they were magical beasts and spirits who couldn’t easily cross nine levels higher to battle supreme geniuses like them, they had the advantage in numbers and cohesion stemming from a top-down hierarchy.

On the other hand, each supreme genius wanted to show off and attain glory on their own, not to mention still wanting to go after treasures to enrich themselves, so these openings merely became a secondary option for them and were not progressing well.

The Davis Family had also received news from Isabella and the others.

They also seemed to have clashed with the foreign forces. However, they have also engaged in trade deals thanks to someone’s efforts, making Davis speechless but also had him thinking that it was expected.

Hearing the stories, he badly wanted to head there as it seemed to be so much fun, beating up supreme geniuses and swiping the treasures. He wouldn’t find fault if they tried to stay there. However, they wanted to come back for some time now, but it seemed like someone had them quite busy with treasure hunting, which also seemed to be beneficial for their own growth and the family’s coffers.

Nevertheless, no matter where his strings were being tugged, he remained calm and steadily cultivated. After his cultivation session was over, he indulged in his women’s warm embrace, filling his heart with immense warmth while his body was also satisfied. His life could be said to be pretty good now, so he wasn’t complaining. He was only worried for the safety of his beauties who were outside.

Isabella and her group were fairly strong. However, the same couldn’t be said about the expedition to the Nether Dimension.

Natalya also finally left with Schleya and the others in order to obtain the Nether Yin Lotus Core in the Netherworld Chasm. It was a difficult task, especially since that place was said to be a farm where lower ranked Nether Devils worked their assess off to cultivate crops good for them.

By the texts and his own calculation, there should be no more than a single Exalt Stage Nether Devil guarding the entire region along with a dozen Empyrean Stage Nether Devils. The worker Nether Devils wouldn’t pose a threat, and the same could be said about Empyrean Nether Devils.

The only matter to worry about was the Exalt Stage Nether Devil.

However, Davis wasn’t worried because Evelynn went with Natalya. From this alone, it could be seen how close they were. Naturally, Evelynn was still an Immortal Emperor, so she couldn’t possibly take on an Exalt Stage Nether Devil. Even with Wisteria’s help, it would end in the same result.

However, Evelynn carried the Hell Poison Gem’s Forged Treasure with her!

Nether Devils were resistant to poison? What would be a Nether Devil in front of it!?

If the Nether Devils actually dared to overwhelm her, then they were going to die miserable deaths. It was going to be the same for an Exalt Stage Nether Devil.

Even besides that, he wasn’t worried since Evelynn was now a terrifying walking calamity with her ability to use annihilative heavenly poison. If one didn’t know how kind she was, they would simply think she was a cold-blooded poison user who would eliminate her opponents without batting an eyelid.

Nevertheless, he prayed a situation wouldn’t arise where Evelynn would have to use the Hell Poison Gem’s Forged Treasure in order to escape. That would mean that they were in real danger. But if push came to shove, rather than it being sealed and not used, he would let Evelynn wave it and use it as a real threat. He didn’t care if it got exposed. It was there to be used so that they could protect themselves in the first place.

The only worry was that it might somehow grab the attention of those hydras using some kind of karmic shenanigans he didn’t know about, but he felt like that was too distant from happening since the range was inter-dimensional and they had already erased any foreign essences to accommodate their own.

More than anything, the Hell Poison itself was rumored to poison karma as well. There was no way one would be able to trace it easily as they could do with other treasures. It just wouldn’t stay.

Still, it was just a trump card since he guessed the Nether Devils would absolutely fear Evelynn’s annihilative heavenly poison in the first place. The need to use it wouldn’t arise until they were in true danger!

Time passed. It was the Sixth Year.

Zestria had given birth to a daughter, and Tanya had given birth to a son.

Davis was overjoyed when he saw that they were delivered safely and had a healthy pregnancy. This time around, he really thought that something might happen after Ellia’s warning, which was totally agreeable. His chaotic yang was just too- random, giving his children strange physiques that shouldn’t be possible by just a single man.

However, an anxious Davis awaited Natalya and Evelynn’s return after a year had passed from their journey. It was about time they returned since he had ordained for them to return within a year, no matter the case whether they obtained the lotus core or not, but there appeared to be a delay.

He walked to and fro near the portal site. He wished he had sent Calypsea with them together now. However, she was just too hot, literally- and her explosive mentality would easily attract the Nether Devils and even everything beyond. Sending her was not suitable for a covert task like this.

*Bzzz!~*

Finally, after a few days, the portal to the Nether Dimension that could only be created by Nyoran opened, making him heave a sigh of relief.

He closely looked at the portal, but when he saw the foot of a Nether Devil emerge from the other side, his heart dropped. However, that foot dropped to the ground and thereafter emerged Natalya, Evelynn, and the others with teasing smiles on their faces as though they knew he would be waiting there.

"Darling, we’re back~"
