Chapter 3657: No Need
As expected, Pardikan’s group didn’t hear the last part. "So, what do you have to say?"
Rifindio sighed, answering them. "Listen, I got it, but I obviously didn’t intend to do it. First of all, why would we let you survive? There you are now, alive, with your companions. Wouldn’t it have been much better if we had killed you inside the formation instead? It would be one less thing to worry about in case you decided to retaliate."Correct content is on f.ree w.e(b)nov el.c.om
Pardikan and his companions looked at each other. As much as they wished to, they couldn’t refute Rifindio’s words. "So what? Will you give them back?"
"To give it back to you, I would have to die!" Rifindio quickly retorted.
"How come I’m alive right now, then?" Pardikan struck back.
"I don’t know," Rifindio shook his head. He obviously wouldn’t talk about his Celestial Laws of Blood. No, to be more specific, it was the combo of his regal bat bloodline nature of sucking blood and the celestial laws of blood. His evolution contributed tremendously towards this anomaly. He was supposed to kill to acquire those marks. "In that state, I just felt like I could do it, and I did while disregarding any consequences. Just like you, all I wanted was the marks, the special power in them, nothing else."
The two groups reached an impasse. Pardikan’s group obviously didn’t simply believe Rifindio’s words, but would they also make a move on him? First of all, Pardikan was pretty weak right now, so he couldn’t even be considered as part of their forces. But then again, there were another seven Divinity Realm experts on their side, while the twins’ group had none.
On the other hand, they saw what Rean’s formation could do. And even worse, they couldn’t detect it with their Divine Senses. If they get lured into a trap again, would they all be slaughtered? When they arrived at the Astral Tree, way before Rifindio and Pardikan felt each other, the twins’ group was already there. Just how long did they have to set up even more formations? It looked extremely risky.
Roan began to lose his patience with those guys. "Let’s end this bullshit here. If you want to attack, just do so. We will not let you kill our companion; that much is obvious. It is also obvious we actually don’t want to fight, or we wouldn’t have activated the formation so fast to stop both of them. We would have lured you all to the point where none of you would ever escape alive."
Roan was harsh, but his words struck true.View the correct content at f.reewebn.ovel.co\m
Then, he turned around. "Let’s go back to cultivate. I couldn’t care less about this chosen bullshit. We must use our time here to the best before the palace closes. We can’t pluck these fruits anyway." Before leaving, he glanced at Pardikan and Citchi. "I recommend you do the same if you truly cultivate with Starlight Energy like us."
It was then that Citchi asked. "Wait, you don’t know how to pluck the fruits?"
Roan stopped, turning around. "Could it be, you know?"
Citchi exchanged glances with her companions, including Pardikan, and they all reached a decision before she spoke. "Yes, we have a way to pluck the fruits, although it is quite a lengthy process. That’s why I said there are plenty of fruits to go around. We just don’t have enough time to pluck them all. However, it is possible."
Celis was obviously the most affected by it. "How do you do it?"
"Hmph!" Crohei snorted. "Why should we tell you? What would we gain from it? But..." He looked at Rifindio, his meaning obvious.
Because neither side knows what this chosen thing is about, they don’t know if it is good or not. But the problem is that the secret to the Celestial Realm might be connected to it. That’s what anyone would think, and the same went for both their groups. It’s just that the twins’ group didn’t have interest in the Celestial Realm secret... Or, to be more specific, they didn’t care about it as much as they did about Starlight Energy right now.
Roan looked at Rifindio. "I’m not sure if it is possible, but would you be willing to give your chosen marks away if they taught us how to pluck the fruits?"
"This..." Rifindio was taken aback, seeing the twins’ group looking at him. Could it be they would give him away?
"Just let me kill him, and you can have the method to pluck the Starlight Fruits," Pardikan pointed out, a wicked expression on his face. "The cultivation world is filled with peril, and reaching the top means stepping on a mountain of corpses. There is no need to care too much about him dying if that means the rest of you can go a step further. Not only one step. With all the Starlight Fruits you could bring away with you, you might even have enough to reach the Divinity Realm Peak Stage. Would this guy’s life be worth more than that?"
The other members of Pardikan’s group smiled in disdain. For them, the choice the twins’ group would make was obvious. What was there to think about?
Suddenly, Roan’s Elemental Intent Scythe appeared. It moved very fast, stopping right in front of Rifindio... but it was not pointing at him. Its tip was turned somewhere else. Roan was annoyed. "And here I thought we could reach an agreement. Well, that is not necessary anymore. It will be simpler to extract it from your souls."
*Zum, zum, zum, zum, zum, zum, zum...*
Suddenly, tens of thousands of runes activated, all of them completely hidden. Rean also had a black expression, and so did Kentucky and Celis. Rean had several hours before Pardikan’s group arrived, so how could he have made just a small formation with so much time? Pretty much several kilometers around that area were filled with those runes. The previous ones were just a tiny percentage of the total.
"There is no need to keep you guys alive anymore," Rean, Kentucky, and Celis spoke together.
