Death... and me

Chapter 3635: Where Did We Stop?

Chapter 3635: Where Did We Stop?

The Third Movement Form was used once again, and Roan shot after Rifindio. All he needed to do was to grab Rifindio and then keep their distance from Getty until Getty’s power ran away.

Getty naturally noticed that, and his pollen, which had stayed close to him this whole time, burst outwards. The Celestial Laws of Earth and Wood seemed to intensify inside them, creating a short-moment barrier that blocked Roan’s path. If Roan wanted to get to Rifindio before Getty did, he would need to throw himself into the range of the pollen, possibly turning into stone if he did so.

Roan stopped in his tracks, his expression dark.

Getty, on the other hand, was excited. There was hope. Maybe he could use Rifindio in some way to achieve victory! Or perhaps...

Rifindio ran as fast as he could, but those Celestial Laws and Celestial Power truly made Getty much faster than him. Flying also wouldn’t help since Getty could fly with his enormous petals.

But then, just as Getty was about to capture Rifindio...

*Badun!*

Getty felt his body freeze! No, it wasn’t his body; it was his bloodline! His bloodline reacted to something much stronger. He knew that sensation! He had felt it once! "Regal Bloodline!"

He had been tricked! Rifindio was actually just as strong as the twins, if not stronger!

Well, that’s what Getty thought at that moment.

He quickly shifted his energy and circulated it in his flower body. To his surprise and shock, he easily managed to counter that Regal Bloodline influence.

That was to be expected. That bloodline was from Rifindio, who was a Demon Beast, not a Demon Plant, and his real cultivation was much lower as well.

Getty sighed in relief. Rifindio actually wasn’t all that strong, although it was incredible that he had a Regal Bloodline. IRifindio released his bloodline pressure and took the chance to run away. But then Getty noticed. For that short moment, he forgot about Roan, afraid of Rifindio instead. As he remembered that, he saw a black dot approaching him in his Natural Spatial Perception. It was so fast that he failed to notice it with his Divine Sense at first.

"Sure enough, running away truly doesn’t suit me," Roan’s voice echoed in Getty’s mind. When Getty turned around, two enormous Scythes made of Intent and Dark Red Lightning were right in front of him.

’Red Death, Death Cross!’

A cross slash from both Scythes, no holding back, hitting head-on!

*Bzzzzz!!!*

Yet, in that last moment, the Golden Petal’s Power came out of Getty’s body, condensing back into its Golden Petal Form. It grew in an instant, creating a barrier once again.

*BANG!*

The aftermath was different this time, though. The explosion of Celestial Laws and Power didn’t follow after Roan’s attack. All the Golden Petal did was block Roan’s attack... and that was it. Then, it began to turn transparent, slowly disappearing. It had saved Getty’s life once again, but it used the rest of its energy and laws to do so.

"Gotcha!" Getty shouted excitedly. "Take a look at your body, fucker!"

Roan looked down and saw that his body began to petrify. The power behind it was so strong that even Roan’s Dark Element and Laws now failed to destroy it. "Not bad. When the petal appeared the first time, it simply acted on its own and blasted me away. Its laws didn’t focus on this petrification ability, so I managed to get rid of them there."

"This time, however, you learned how to use the petal’s power, even if just so slightly. When the petal came out to protect you just now, you controlled it so most of its power would shift in pure Celestial laws of Earth. You knew that physically damaging me wouldn’t work. You had to use these laws to end me. It seems like the chosen ones are quite crafty," Roan concluded, genuinely surprised by Getty’s move.

Getty landed on the ground, feeling like he had been battling for the last thousand years. The Golen Petal’s power was gone, he was now suffering the backlash, but he achieved victory.

*Zush!*

A few seconds later, Rean appeared there. On his hand, there was a pale Red Hibiscus, quite small, sealed with Sky Energy and Dark Element. That was obviously Lafanxa, completely defeated. The only reason she was still alive was that the twins wanted to read her memories. "When was the last time you were caught by the enemy’s plot?" Rean asked Roan, amused.

Before Roan could answer, Getty intervened. "There is no way you can stop the petrification, but I know how to revert it. You two are twin brothers, right? If you want him back to normal, you better do what I tell you?"

Rean turned in Getty’s direction, his expression weird.

Rifindio also arrived, now standing by Rean’s side, concerned about Roan. "Sorry, Roan, that was my fault."

Roan didn’t agree at all. "Fuck off. I’m the only one to blame here. Even though I thought I was being careful, I still fell for this."

Getty quickly demanded. "First, let senior Lafanxa go! If you care about your brother, do as I say!"

Rean and Roan looked at each other, then back at Getty. "Care... about each other?"

Following that, Rean’s Elemental Intent Sword appeared on his hand and slashed out.

*Swish!*

Roan’s head was sent flying! "Who the hell cares about this piece of shit? I must thank you instead! I finally managed to lend a proper hit on this fucker!"

Let alone Getty and Lafanxa, even Rifindio had his eyes open wide. Rifindio knew that Rean and Roan hated each other but didn’t expect it to be this much!

However, it was then that a cursing voice, created with Divine Energy instead of air, echoed around. "You piece of shit! You didn’t need to use Red Lightning in the Intent Sword!"

Rean shrugged, raising his hands sideways and smiling. "Is that so? I seem to remember someone using Dark Element to attack my soul back then."

"You already got your revenge for that!" Roan complained.

"And now I had the chance to be the one starting this new cycle," to which Rean answered and mocked.

*Grab!*

Rean then caught Roan’s head with his hand before it could fall to the ground. "How many pills?"

Roan made a mental note to remember that. "Five! Make it fast!"

Then, Rean brought out five of Roan’s Nutrient Pills. He threw them inside Roan’s mouth and activated his healing skill.

’Life Style, Instant Recovery!’

In front of Lafanxa and Getty, Roan’s body began to regrow from the neck and downwards. The Nutrient Pills were being used one after another, giving Rean the necessary resources to regenerate Roan’s body completely.

As he did that, Roan spoke. "Those concentrated laws hit my body but not my head. I obviously take a lot more care of where the soul resides. Since that was the case, I just had to discard the rest of my body and grow a new one. You should feel proud. It had been a long time since I was injured to such an extent."

"Well, there was that seal just a bit over a hundred years ago..." Rean pointed out.

"That seal doesn’t count," Roan didn’t accept it. "Its cultivation was over six realms higher than ours. We can’t make miracles."

"That’s true..." Rean nodded.

Finally, Roan’s body healed, and he pulled out a robe from his spatial ring. "Now then, I’m quite angry, so where did we stop?"
