Chapter 3627: The Reasons For Rifindio’s Change
"It was the Dark Green Cocoon, right? Right?!" Grititi insisted. "Tell me, what should I do? I will do anything as long as you tell me how I can evolve my bloodline like yours. Anything!"
Rifidio looked at the twins, who just shrugged.
’This is something you went through, so it is your choice to talk or not. Just don’t mention anything you shouldn’t about us,’ Roan spoke leisurely.
"You can talk on the way," Royer commented, looking at the roots around. After what happened to Rifindio was concluded, all the roots began to dry out as well. "If this is happening all over this region, then it is possible the path to the next region is open."
Everyone looked at the roots, noticing the same thing. "Alright, let’s go!"
On the way, Grititi contacted Rifindio through Divine Sense.
Rifindio, however, wasn’t in the mood to tell Grititi anything. Well, to be more specific, there wasn’t much for him to tell either. ’Listen, I don’t know what happened, okay? I was walking by the Dark Green Cocoon, and it suddenly captured me, pulling me inside. You saw that, too. It wasn’t something I wanted to happen at that time. What I can tell you is that the liquid inside the Dark Green Cocoon caused this change. That’s all.’
Then, they passed by another Dark Green Cocoon... that was actually completely dry now.
Grititi threw himself at it, summoning his Blood Spears and attacking. Surprisingly, his Blood Spears easily pierced the Cocoon, opening a gap. From inside, the same filth liquid poured out. It didn’t have any energy, any Celestial Laws, nothing. It was like something rotten. No, it was rotten! "This can’t be..."
The twins and the others didn’t stop. "Whatever happened to him caused all the Cocoons to die. It is that simple. Give up already and take the front. You are still our bait."
Grititi cursed inwardly. Why was it Zirconio (Rifindio’s alias)? Why wasn’t it him? He is at the Peak Stage of the Divinity Realm. He would have a lot more to gain from that. Could that be the reason? His cultivation? Grititi wondered as he took the front once again.
’Regardless of what caused it all, one thing is clear,’ Roan commented to Rean and the other three. ’This Palace indeed helped Triaglia and the other Universe Owners to reach the Celestial Realm. This much is obvious now that we saw what it gave Rifindio.’
Rifindio, Celis, Kentucky, and Rean nodded. It wasn’t a legend. Rifindio became the living proof of the Palace’s power.
---
Still, there was a question the twins and Rifindio couldn’t find an answer for. The Cocoons were attracted by Rifindio and took him in. Why?
Although they would never know, there was indeed a reason for that. Those Cocoons were, in fact, a single entity.
Countless years ago, Triaglia’s Master captured this Demon Plant, and due to some circumstances, that Demon Plant lost its sentience. Triaglia’s Master then used it as part of the various regions of his Golden Palace.
With his knowledge, the guy modified this Demon Plant to serve as a guardian to the next region and a portal provider. It was a simple task, and due to this Demon Plant’s cultivation, it would never die since it had already achieved immortality. Well, it would never die due to lifespan, that is.
Normally, it would never react to anyone, let alone do what it did to Rifindio. However, there was something different in Rifindio that caught its interest, even if it didn’t really have any sentience or will. It was attracted by Rifindio’s Mutant Bloodline.
Still, that wasn’t enough. In the end, Grititi was right about what he thought as well. Not only did Rifindio’s Mutant Bloodline catch the Demon Plant’s attention, but so did his cultivation. It was just perfect. Why? Because this Demon Plant actually had a Mutant Bloodline itself!
Maybe it was fate, or maybe it was a coincidence, but Rifindio’s bloodline and cultivation gave it the perfect opportunity to pass forward its legacy. By having a Mutant Bloodline, it could interact with Rifindio’s Bloodline more easily. Thanks to Rifindio’s cultivation, which was at a level beneath the Space-Time Realm, he was able to awaken his senses to the Celestial Laws of Blood. This progression occurred as he attuned himself to the Laws of the Worlds during his breakthrough into the Space-Time Realm.
One might find it weird that this Demon Plant helped Rifindio catch and store the Celestial Laws of Blood. However, that was actually pretty convenient. This Demon Plant had a name back then, the Spreading Vampire Roots. Yes, it fed on blood from the various races to get stronger. So, when it had sentience, it actually had comprehended the Celestial Laws of Blood, perfect for Rifindio.
Finally, since Rifindio was just at the gateway to the Space-Time Realm, it managed to help Rifindio achieve that breakthrough, catch the Celestial Laws of Blood at the right moment, and evolve his Bloodline.
As for Rifindio’s Mutant Bloodline turning into a Regal Bloodline, that was actually just a chance occurrence. Rifindio’s Mutant Bloodline ended up transforming into something new that now had nothing to do with the Camazotz Bats or the Minokawas. Both were necessary for this to happen, but both wouldn’t be of any use to Rifindio’s improvement from now own.
And that’s how Rifindio acquired this amazing chance. Even Triaglia’s Master didn’t expect it to happen, but he was happy it did. For him, his Golden Palace, which he often called ’little hut,’ was fulfilling its purpose just fine.
---
Kentucky flew once again to look at the path ahead. "Hey, the guys from our group are just up ahead!"
"They are still there?" Royer found it strange. They had spent several hours waiting by Rifindio’s Cocoon, so how did they catch up this fast?
Kentucky landed on the roots and then touched Rifindio’s body. At that moment, Rifindio felt a power running through his bloodline, forcefully suppressing it. If someone else checked now, they would only feel a normal bloodline aura coming from Rifindio. "You are still not able to control your bloodline, so I will keep it hidden for the time being. Regal Bloodlines are quite flashy, after all."
Rifindio sighed in relief. He was truly wondering how he would hide it. "Thank you."
"Alright," Royer cut in, "Let’s join back with them and see what is happening."
