Chapter 1858 - 1858: Alliance Meeting

Tang Shaoyang was walking together with Zhang Mengyao, Kang Xue, Rosalie, and Wei Xi. They could only bring five people to the alliance meeting as part of the agreement. Many did not show any interest in joining the meeting.

On the way to the meeting location, he heard his name called. It was rare that he was called by his full name as people mostly addressed him respectfully with Sir or with his title. Not that he was mad, but he could tell that from the voice, whoever called him was mad.

Tang Shaoyang followed the voice and found the person. The King of the United Sovereign, Herman Bonivido. Herman’s face was twisted in anger, his eyes wide open while pointing his finger.

Tang Shaoyang chuckled at how ridiculous the situation was. It was him who was supposed to be mad, it seemed like Herman was angrier than him to act like this. He did not act further because the United Sovereign had a good rapport.

The United Sovereign tried to use The Tang Empire’s influence to gain benefit from the share, and Herman prioritized keeping his little profit rather than getting rid of The United Alliance which might put his people in more danger. After doing such a thing, it was amazing that he was not ashamed and got angry instead.

“I don’t really want to listen to this guy. Not only he didn’t reflect upon his mistake, but he had the nerve to be mad at us,” Tang Shaoyang spoke to Zhang Mengyao.

He encountered a similar situation many times, and it gave him a little chuckle each time it happened. But he did not really want to deal with Herman. Whatever he said, it only fueled Herman’s anger, and Herman would leave even angrier.

“It must be about the new alliance that he is going to form with the other big factions…” Wei Xi did not finish his words as he received a glare from the four.

The Vice Supreme Commander scratched his forehead, “I forgot to tell you that The Africa Nation and Olympus came to inform us about the new alliance that The United Sovereign pitched out to the other big factions to contend with us.”

Tang Shaoyang rolled his eyes, “I don’t really care what they want to do. I will leave them alone as long as they don’t cross the line.”

Wei Xi told them that Olympus and The Africa Nation visited them during their five hours of workout. He forgot to bring it up because of their little discussion.

Herman approached Tang Shaoyang like an angry bull even though he received an intense hostility glare from the surroundings. He ignored those glares and showed the invitation message from the council.

“What’s the meaning of this?” He questioned The Emperor.

Tang Shaoyang shrugged, “Can’t you read them?”

“Don’t play with me. Why are you initiating the meeting without discussing it with me first? I am also the leader of the Earth Alliance. You can’t just make an arbitrary decision without talking it out with me?” Herman’s voice was forceful, not bothering to hide his rage in front of The Emperor.

“Oh, I thought you were forming a new alliance? I don’t know if you care that much, and you will know what I want to talk about when we get there, no? What’s the point of having a discussion with you beforehand?”

Tang Shaoyang took a step forward, separating them a few inches from each other. He was a head taller than Herman, and he looked down at Herman’s eyes.

“You should not play with my generosity, Herman. You know the reason why you and your people can roam around in this tower freely with no threat from the other forces. I put my people in danger to guarantee you and your people’s safety here, but you dare to take advantage of my absence!”

“You don’t even want to make a little sacrifice from your meager profit to care about the alliance, why are you suddenly caring about the Earth Alliance? And also The Tang Empire is no longer part of the Earth Alliance anymore, and I don’t need to consult you for what I want to do. Since when do I need your permission to do something? You are overreaching your authority, Herman!”

Herman’s expression was contorted in fury. He didn’t even care if what Tang Shaoyang said was true. He could not accept this humiliation. However, another realization struck him that there was nothing he could do, which made him even angrier.

Yes, the Tang Empire initiated the meeting without his consent. What could he do about it? Nothing. He didn’t have the authority or the power to stop the Tang Empire.

“I don’t care if you want to form a new alliance or whatever as long as you don’t cross the line. As long as you don’t bother me, then I will not bother you. Trust me, Herman, you don’t want me angry.”

Herman did not say anything because he knew the threat was real. If he did not want to draw The Tang Empire’s wrath, then he better not do anything.

Tang Shaoyang stopped and walked past Herman because Zhang Mengyao had been nudging him. She did not want to make more enemies whether they were stronger or weaker. In her mind, they could handle this better than antagonizing The United Sovereign.

She was more at ease when she had to fight the forces from the other worlds than the factions from Earth. They had survived the start of the Game, so her heart was heavier when she had to fight the people from Earth. Especially after knowing that they were far from safe. The forces from the other worlds might try to take over the Earth. They should fight together to defend Earth instead of going at each other’s throats.

The same with the city in the previous dimensional tower, there was a city hall, a neutral area where they could find missions and buy any other things. It became the meeting place for the alliance, and they had prepared the room specially for the meeting.

It was a long table that formed a square, and each side represented the world. Tang Shaoyang was not the first one to arrive at the meeting place. The Valuer Empire’s representative arrived. They wore red leather armor, and the one who led them was a man who looked in his mid-twenties.

The man looked up at Tang Shaoyang, a new face from the Tang Empire. The man in his mid-twenties seized up Tang Shaoyang from top to bottom.

Tang Shaoyang ignored them, took his seat, and checked the time. They arrived five minutes earlier, and he regretted leaving early. Not long after, Herman entered the room accompanied by four people. They sat next to the Tang Empire’s seat.

“Why don’t you introduce the new people to us?” A man who looked in his late thirties on The Valeur Empire’s side, speaking up. He eyed Herman and Zhang Mengyao, but his gaze lasted longer at Rosalie.

Herman was in a foul mood and was not interested in playing along with the people from the Valuer Empire. After they found out that they were the only faction that managed to conquer their world, they started to act a little bit more arrogant.

Meanwhile, Tang Shaoyang glanced at the man, but then he straight ignored the man. It was followed by a death silence, and the man who spoke had his face reddened, being ignored. Tang Shaoyang thought the man would explode, but he was surprised the man did not burst out in anger.

Tang Shaoyang clicked his tongue and leaned back against his chair, closing his eyes. Five minutes passed, but The Gondar Alliance’s representatives and The Etherna Alliance’s representatives had not arrived within the promised time.

Tang Shaoyang was not going to play games with these people. Since they did not come, he assumed they would not come and nudged Zhang Mengyao. He came into the tower to have fun and hoped to find something good for himself, not playing this stupid political game. He was not going to waste his time, sitting here, doing nothing.

Zhang Mengyao understood her husband well, shaking her head but she complied, “Since The Gondar Alliance and The Etherna Alliance can’t come, we will start the meeting with just us.”

Matheo, the man in his mid-twenties, changed his expression for the first time. He was surprised because The Earth Alliance was bolder this time around. He noticed the tension between the Tang Empire and the United Sovereign, there something happened behind, but he could not make out what made them grow bolder. The only change was that the man he had never seen before was here.

“You know you can’t start a meeting unless all of us are present, Commander Zhang Mengyao,” An overbearing voice echoed as two groups entered the room.

They appeared as soon as Zhang Mengyao said she would start the meeting as if they were waiting for it. The Gondar Alliance’s representatives were seated to the left, and The Etherna Alliance’s representatives were seated to the right.

“You can’t expect us to arrive in time when you propose a sudden meeting like this, Commander Zhang Mengyao,” The same man spoke again in a form of complaint. He was part of the Etherna Alliance, and he eyed Tang Shaoyang, “Just because your emperor is here, it doesn’t mean you can act as you please.”

Matheo’s eyes brightened when he heard that, he understood why The Earth Alliance acted differently today. It was because the strongest individual from Earth was here. That gave them more confidence than before. A smile formed on his lip.

‘This is going to be an interesting meeting,’ He thought to himself.
