Look outside, Ares is moving at a higher speed, yet now the view from the window is the same, but the surroundings are changing. We are in a lock with Ares and moving along with it.”

Amelia nodded in understanding, and Captain Mariel stepped out of the cockpit and said, “Sir, we will be docking in a few minutes, please come with me to the Hatch Door.”

Shi Lang nodded and he looked at Amelia as he asked, “I wonder if I should change into my old uniform?”

Amelia smacked his shoulder and said, “You have long retired, almost a thousand years now, why do you want to flex it to the people?”

Shi Lang chuckled, and Captain Mariel replied, “Ma’am, if Supreme General wears his uniform, it will inject a wave of adrenaline in the hearts of us all. However, I think that only a few would be able to recognize that uniform.”

Amelia smiled and Shi Lang said, “Forget it, Captain, my time in the service has long been forgotten as it should be. Let’s go, I can hardly wait to get things processed and get back home to eat Kaizi Ramen, I wonder if they are operating, damn it I am afraid that I might release my time seal.”

Hao Mei grabbed his hand and said softly, “Baba, don’t get agitated, if you released even a sliver of time force, it would be a disaster for this plain.”

The Terran nodded and under the watchful gaze of his wife and disciples they moved to the hatch door. The ship moved smoothly to the docking station, but sensing the surroundings, Shi Lang could tell that they have docked on the station on the planet surface instead of the one outside.

The hatch opened and a familiar dusky skyline was unveiled to Shi Lang. The terran subconsciously held Amelia’s palm as he took a few steps forward before stopping and looking at Mariel who smiled and said with a bow, “Welcome home, General.”

Shi Lang understood her intentions, she wanted him to go ahead first. He nodded with a thanks and stepped out of the hatch, to see a huge number of soldiers standing in a neat formation. Before them stood many high ranking officers and Shi Lang looked at the stars on their shoulders and monograms on their lapels to discern their ranks.

He found that the man standing right before him was the Fleet General. The man stood up straight with his back and saluted Shi Lang, before he said, “Welcome Home, Supreme General Shi Lang, Sir!”

The surrounding soldiers all saluted Shi Lang and they yelled, “Welcome home, Sir!”

Shi Lang has been addressed by many people and honored by many as well, but for whenever the soldiers saluted him, he felt a goosebump run across his body. He shivered with an emotion that he could not express. He walked up to the Fleet General and saluted him, before he turned to his left and right to salute all the soldiers and said, “Thank you for holding the fort. Thank you for keeping home safe. Thank you for your hard work. It is good to be back, brothers and sisters.”

The people cheered, but suddenly Shi Lang said, “Wait, I am around a thousand years old now, how are you going to be my brothers and sisters?”

The soldiers were stunned for a minute before they exploded in laughter. Shi Lang also laughed and then he looked at the Fleet General, “General, I have brought my disciples with me, I would like to obtain a visitor’s identity for them.”

The general replied, “Yes, I will get it done, Sir. The general council would like to meet you and General Knight.”

Shi Lang winced and said, “Well, I was trying to avoid this official stuff. I only have a month to stay before I should head back and I wanted to go and explore the Federation.”

The Fleet General replied, “Sir, I understand, but if you could only give the council a day of your time, we would gain a lot from your wisdom. After that, I promise to personally be your guide. You will be shocked to see how much the federation has changed.”

Shi Lang sighed and said, “Fine, but after a day, me and my wife would like to travel, while my disciples will train under the military for a month, extensively.”

The Fleet General agreed and Shi Lang said, “Meimei, come here, my dear.”

Hao Mei stepped up and the people were stunned by her graceful beauty, Shi Lang said, “Share the alchemical knowledge with them and also learn advanced medicinal procedures. You will handle the negotiation for trading the medical pods with spirit stones.”

Hao Mei nodded and said, “Understood Baba.”

Shi Lang then looked at the rest, “Jing Tong, you will assist Mei, and the rest of you lot, form small teams of four. You will learn mechatronics, and weapon manufacture with Xiao Yu, exchange the knowledge of refining with them.

Xiao Meng, love, your team will learn formations, and scouting techniques, okay?”

The disciples nodded and the arrangements were made. Shi Lang then headed inside the Ares base to get through the formalities.
