The party came to an end, and life seemed to have returned to the normal, but the higher ups in the Asura Hall knew that it was not normal from any angle. They knew that the situation was about to get tricky and they were planning for a long game. The operatives installed in various factions have been told to deepen their covers and increase their influence.
Shi Lang was inside his room, cultivating, while Amelia had been rushing through Tartarus every few days to increase her skills and regain her strength. It has been a few weeks since she had come over and with every passing day, with the help of Xiao Yu, Xiao Meng, and Shi Tao, her strength was improving steadily.
Suddenly, the door of the room opened and Tian Long came inside. Shi Lang opened his eyes and asked, “What is it?”
Tian Long said, “I went to the ascension hall. It turns out, they do have a portal that can be used to descend on the lower realm where you came from, however, when you do that, the world laws will be casting a seal upon you. You will have thirty days in there before the world squeezes you out. If you resist, you will explode and vanish in the sea of stars.”
Shi Lang thought for a bit and said, “Okay, gather the elders, I will meet with them.”
Tian Long turned around and left the place as he said, “Use your communicator, I am not your secretary.”
Shi Lang didn’t mind it and said, “Yes, but you are still a loser.”
These days, when Shi Lang realized that he has reached the peak of the realm, he wanted to become a sage and that was his only chance to counter the ranking tournament that was about to start in a few hundred years. It may seem like a long time but it wasn’t. Shi Lang decided that after he finishes dealing with the karmic ties back in the federation, he would focus on becoming a sage by comprehending his supreme path.
Tian Long left the room, and Shi Lang sent out the meeting notification to the elders of the hall. Shortly after, he stood up and left the courtyard. He preferred walking through the crowd, and to make sure that the rest of the people are not affected by his actions. He would hide his aura to the point where unless someone was watching him purposefully, they won’t notice him.
While walking Shi Lang noticed that the hall members were all smiling more than the usual. He observed them and found that the stifling air that used to put burden on everyone had vanished into thin air, the atmosphere was now light and cheerful. The Terran came to the entrance of the elder hall and turned around to look at the Asura Hall, before he fell into deep thought.
Shi Tao appeared beside him and hooked his arm as she asked, “Are you thinking about the reason behind this cheerful mood and the light air?”
Shi Lang hummed, and Shi Tao leaned her head against his shoulder as she said, “You have always been the sword that guides the people. Mum has been the sheath that contains your intensity within her and your relationship together makes things easier for the others around you.
She is soft and needs your intensity while you are intense, and need her softness. Ever since she was missing, you had grown stoic with every passing moment. Things were not good, and we knew that we had to work hard. That way of thinking changed our entire perception towards life, and made us all look like a bunch that would either kill or die.”
Shi Lang nodded, he could understand the meaning behind her words, and the young lady continued, “Baba, now that Mum is back you have changed as well. Things are not as intense as they used to be, and this is why the air in the surrounding has changed.”
Shi Lang took a deep breath and said, “I didn’t expect that you would understand what I thought just by looking at me, love.”
Shi Tao smiled and said softly, “Did you not understand me when you looked at me back in the day? Had it not been for you or mum, I would have been dead long ago.”
Shi Lang shook his head and said, “It is not us who saved you, but you saved the both of us as well.”
Shi Tao smiled faintly but didn’t say anything. She knew that Shi Lang always felt guilty when it came to her relationship with her. However, she didn’t intend to bring that up because Shi Lang would never let go of that feeling.
The two of them came inside the meeting hall, and Shi Lang sat down on the Hall Master’s position, and he said, “There are a few things that need to be done at the priority basis but with utmost precautions.”
The people looked at him and the Terran continued, “We know that in the coming days, I would have to leave the realm to take Amelia down to the lower realm to reconnect her karmic ties otherwise her soul would always stay vulnerable. During that time the role of the elders would become vary crucial.”
The people nodded and Shi Lang said, “Commander Silence, I will take ten disciples from the hall with me, and have them experience the life of a mortal. Please conduct examinations.”
Archie Arkham nodded and Shi Lang continued, “Have all the undercover assets deepen their cover, and increase their influence. The information flow shall be increased, we have two hundred years on our hands, before the ranking tournament of the Dao Plain starts. Before that, we need to find out ways to kill some talented ones and avoid detection of the realm lord. Deepen ties with the allies and exchange information.”
The people nodded as they all understood how crucial gathering information for them was at this moment. After a few minutes, the council meeting came to an end and the people were dismissed.
Shi Tao looked at Shi Lang and asked, “What would you do if you found that no one is home?”
Shi Lang heard this and he froze for a moment before he sighed and said, “Then I will have to face it, don’t I? Cannot refine more vessels can I?”
Shi Tao patted his shoulder and said, “It will be fine right? Don’t lose it and turn home into rubble.”
Shi Lang chuckled and said, “Yes, Mom.
